Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide improvements to students using the scramble method as one of the main methods for improving the ability to memorize tenses in learning English grammar. The method used a descriptive qualitative approach with a type of case study. The research location is class XII Madrasah Aliyah Ihyaul Islam. While the data collection used in this study included direct observation and unstructured interviews to determine the accuracy of the data. The results obtained from using the scramble method, students experience an increase in memorizing and understanding the tenses formula because students are invited to actively think by answering the questions given in a group and then arranging the questions to form sentences according to the tenses formula. And the activity also with play activities between groups. So that students can have fun playing but still get the intended results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the use of the suggestopedia method in teaching English Grammar as one of the primary methods for understanding Grammar material. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with the type of case study. The research location is in the Al Hamidiyah area of the Nurul Jadid Islamic boarding school student cottage and for research subject in special classes for student linguistics including two language teachers as primary informant subject and one student as secondry informants subject. Meanwhile, the data collection used in this study included direct observation and unstructured interviews in determining the data's accuracy. The data analysis technique consists of the stages of collecting data, preparing it for analysis, analyzing it, and then concluding the analysis. The results obtained from the application of the suggestopedia method are the increasing understanding of students in participating in Grammar lessons because students are invited to understand the core of the material in an enjoyable and calming way, namely by good class arrangement and being given soothing music accompaniment. The implication is that students' understanding of learning can be achieved with variations in the learning carried out by the teacher so that students do not feel anxious and enjoy themselves in class.

Abstract

Masni District is one of the transmigration settlement areas that produces paddy and dryland rice commodities with a production of 3,806 tons and secondary crops 530 tons in 2020 (BPS Manokwari 2020). The Masni District Agricultural Extension Center has eight agricultural extension workers who assist farmers in thirty-two villages in an effort to increase agricultural production and strive to create farmer independence. The limited number of extension workers and technical constraints in the form of the availability of transportation with a wide working range of around 1,406.10km2 (BPS Manokwari, 2020), are suspected of affecting the performance of extension workers in achieving their goals so that an evaluation of each stage of the extension implementation is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of agricultural extension workers at the Masni District Agricultural Extension Center (BPP), Manokwari Regency. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The sampling method used in this study was carried out by census. The results of the study showed that the evaluation results of the extension worker's performance were stated as good with the District Level Work Performance Value at a score of 79.22. This is supported by three indicators as parameters, namely the extension preparation indicator with an average score of 5 with a very good category, the extension implementation indicator with an average score of 3.6 with a good category and the evaluation and reporting indicator with an average score of 3.5 with a good category

Abstract

This study aims to compare farming systems by identifying the characteristics of farming management applied by two groups of farmers, namely local farmers and transmigrant farmers in Sidey District, Manokwari Regency, West Papua Province based on patterns, forms, types and characteristics. The data analysis used is comparative and descriptive qualitative presented in simple tabulations. Data collection techniques through literature studies of farming data in two different villages. The results of the analysis show: based on age, it was found that local farmers with more productive ages than transmigrant farmers. The level of education possessed by local farmers is higher than that of transmigrant farmers, the number of dependents of family members owned by transmigrant farmers is greater than that of local farmers. The farming experience of transmigrant farmers is longer than that of local farmers. The form of farming of these two groups is individual (individual farm). The pattern of farming of both is commercial with local farmers' income lower than that of transmigrant farmers. According to the farming pattern, local farmers have a mixed farming pattern and transmigrant farmers have a special farming pattern. According to type, transmigration farmers operate their farming businesses on both wet and dry land, while local farmers predominantly operate their farming businesses on dry land.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of using ChatGPT on the productivity and quality of students' writing. This study used a mixed-methods qualitative and quantitative method involving 10 English study program students from three universities. Data were collected through writing assignments and questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistical tests, paired sample T-tests, and Pearson Correlation. The results showed a significant increase in the number of words written and the efficiency of time spent on assignments after using ChatGPT. In addition, the use of ChatGPT was also associated with an increase in the quality of writing, especially in grammar and fluency. This study concluded that ChatGPT was effective in increasing the productivity, efficiency, and quality of students' writing, although it is necessary to be aware of the potential for dependency that can reduce the development of students' critical thinking skills.
