Abstract

The movement of “I am Anticorruption woman” (SPAK) Yogyakarta is one part of anticorruption prevention activities proclaimed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). At first, the targets of activity in Yogyakarta were the general public, then narrowed down for women in law enforcement and women with disability. Women play an important role in anti corruption prevention activities because they are responsible to manage the household’s economy. This research uses the qualitative method to collect the data through observation and interview. The result of this research shows that SPAK Yogyakarta activity is part of community empowerment covering four aspects, namely: power, participation, awareness, access, and prosperity. The empowerment of SPAK Yogyakarta is a long process due to the activities which are limited in training and socialization as part of anticorruption education, whereas to achieve the change of anti-corruption social system, it requires sufficient time and energy to organize the training and socialization process. However, the activities undertaken are able to provide awareness for the actors to take preventive action at the personal, family, and community level to have the power, access, participation, and prosperity in anticorruption prevention measures. It becomes the motivation for SPAK Yogyarta to run its activities continuously towards an anticorruption state and society.]

Abstract

Ecofeminism is an interrelated and holistic theory and practice. Ecology, in conjunction with discourses on women's freedom and radical democracy, constitutes one of the primary pillars of democratic confederalism, which is the development of the political paradigm in Indonesia. Ecofeminism also manifests in several areas, including the women's resistance movement against gold mining by PT Tambang Mas Sangihe (TMS) in Sangihe. This study aims to describe the representation of the women's movement in the documentary film "Sangihe Melawan," which was uploaded to the YouTube channel of Watchdoc Documentary on July 1, 2022. This research employs semiotics techniques. The data analysis unit in this study includes images or visuals, audio (dialogue and narration), acting, setting, type of shot, and angle, which collectively demonstrate the role of women in the concept of Social Ecofeminism. The results indicate that women are represented as the most disadvantaged parties in the exploitation of natural resources. The women's movement to protect the environment is also depicted as an effortful endeavor. The women's resistance to the expansion of gold mining in Sangihe was manifested in various actions, including awareness-raising activities, a women's rally, legal action against PT TMS through the Manado and Jakarta Administrative Courts, and other legal avenues.

Abstract

One of the most important assets in developing ecotourism is natural conditions that have marketability to tourists, while still paying attention to sustainability. As an active volcano, Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta has great potential to be affected by natural disasters caused by volcanic activity. This research aims to look at the development of volcanic ecotourism after the disaster. This research uses a case study, with interview and literature study data collection techniques. The theory used in this research is social capital from Robert Putnam. The results of this research found that after the eruption disaster, ecotourism in the Mount Merapi area experienced a decline in visitors, but this did not last long. What is quite interesting is that after the 2010 volcanic eruption disaster in the Mount Merapi tourist area, many new tourist attractions emerged that exist to this day. Meanwhile, during Covid-19, tourist attractions were in a slump due to government restrictions on activities outside the home so that tourists were reluctant to come on tour. However, after Covid-19, Mount Merapi Ecotourism quickly adapted and activities returned to normal, starting to attract visitors.
