Abstract

The use of fertilizers is needed to supply nutrients for plant growth. The use of organic fertilizers on bamboo plants is still rarely done. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the dose of solid organic fertilizer and the type of bamboo that gave the best effect and the interaction of the application of solid organic fertilizer and the type of bamboo produced by tissue culture. This research was conducted from July to September 2018, located at the Faculty of Forestry, Tadulako University. The research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern, namely the first type of bamboo, B1 petung bamboo and B2 ornamental bamboo. The second factor is solid organic fertilizer P0 = 0 g/clump P1 = 250 g/clump P2 = 500 g/clump P3 = 750 g/clump. With ten treatment combinations of tissue cultured types of bamboo and a dose of solid organic fertilizer. Each treatment was repeated three times to produce 30 experimental units. The results showed that the dose of solid organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on the increase in height and number of bamboo leaves. Furthermore, the treatment of bamboo species had a very significant effect on the growth of the number of leaves but not significantly on other parameters. Meanwhile, the interaction effect between bamboo species and the dose of solid organic fertilizer significantly affected the increase in clump height. The interaction treatment of ornamental bamboo (Bambusa balcooa) + solid organic fertilizer 1000 g/clump (B2P4) gave an average increase in clump height (4.81 cm) significantly different from petung bamboo + solid organic fertilizer 250 g/clump (B1P0), bamboo ornamental + solid organic fertilizer 0 g/clump (B2P0), ornamental bamboo + solid organic fertilizer 250 g/clump (B2P1), and ornamental bamboo + solid organic fertilizer 750 g/clump (B2P3).Keywords: Organic Fertilizer, Petung Bamboo, Ornamental Bamboo

Abstract

The riparian forest in Lamseunia Village, Aceh Besar, is an important ecosystem that supports biodiversity, including insects such as butterflies (Lepidoptera) and dragonflies (Odonata). This study aims to analyze the diversity and abundance of both groups of insects, as well as their relationship with environmental conditions. The sampling method was carried out directly (hand collection) and using insect nets at three observation stations in November 2023. Data analysis was conducted using ecological indices and RStudio software. The results showed the discovery of 13 species of Lepidoptera from 4 families (Nymphalidae, Pieridae, Papilionidae, Lycaenidae) and 3 species of Odonata from the Libellulidae family. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H'=2,226) indicates a moderate level of diversity with an even distribution (evenness=0,95), while the dominance index is low (D=0,115) reflecting a balanced community. The dragonfly Orthetrum sabina was the most dominant due to its adaptability, while the butterfly Graphium sarpedon was the least abundant due to limited host plants. Rarefaction and extrapolation curve analysis (iNEXT) showed potential for additional species richness, especially at station 2. Environmental factors such as temperature (29,3-30,2°C), humidity (62%), and soil pH (6,0-6,5) also influenced insect distribution. Six species (Ideopsis vulgaris, Eurema hecabe, Graphium sarpedon, Orthetrum sabina, Pantala flavescens, and Rhodothemis rufa) are classified as Least Concern (IUCN), but habitat protection is still needed. These results provide baseline data for long-term ecological monitoring and conservation management based on local biodiversity. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji karakteristik substrat dan morfologi rumput laut di kawasan pesisir Aceh Selatan, Provinsi Aceh. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi komposisi jenis rumput laut, tipe substrat yang ditempati, serta perbedaan morfologi masing-masing spesies. Metode yang digunakan adalah kombinasi line transect dan quadrat transect dengan pengambilan sampel di zona intertidal dan subtidal. Hasil penelitian menemukan 32 spesies rumput laut yang tergolong dalam tiga kelas: Chlorophyceae (11 spesies), Phaeophyceae (11 spesies), dan Rhodophyceae (10 spesies). Substrat keras seperti karang mati dan batu dominan dihuni oleh rumput laut dengan life form lithofitik (66%), sedangkan substrat lunak seperti pasir dan kerikil didominasi oleh rhizophitik (28%). Karakteristik morfologi rumput laut bervariasi, terutama pada struktur holdfast, stipe, dan blade, yang mencerminkan adaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungan. Alga coklat (Phaeophyceae) memiliki morfologi paling kompleks, cocok untuk perairan berarus kuat, sementara alga hijau (Chlorophyceae) dan alga merah (Rhodophyceae) lebih adaptif di perairan tenang atau berarus sedang. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan informasi penting untuk konservasi dan budidaya rumput laut berkelanjutan dengan mempertimbangkan kesesuaian substrat dan ketahanan morfologis spesies.

Abstract

Laser marking is essential in medical device manufacturing to ensure permanent identification and traceability while maintaining hygienic surface quality. However, improper parameter selection may increase surface roughness, reducing readability and risking microbial retention. This study aims to optimize laser marking parameters on SKD-11 tool steel to improve marking clarity without compromising surface integrity. Six combinations of laser speed, power, and frequency were tested. Surface roughness was measured using a YRT200 (Ra) tester, and marking quality was visually assessed. The optimal performance was achieved at 150 mm/s, 100 W, and 54 kHz, producing clear engraving with a moderate roughness of 29.8 μm. These results indicate that appropriate parameter optimization can balance clarity and hygienic surface characteristics, highlighting its importance for reliable and safe labeling in industrial and medical applications.

Abstract

Studi sebelumnya tentang rumput laut di Aceh Selatan hanya meneliti distribusi dan ekologi, tanpa mengeksplorasi hubungan antara karakteristik substrat dan morfologi, sehingga data dasar mengenai preferensi substrat dan variasi morfologi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini mengkaji substrat dan morfologi rumput laut di Aceh Selatan guna mengidentifikasi komposisi spesies, tipe substrat, dan variasi morfologinya. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Februari hingga April 2021 menggunakan metode gabungan line transect dan quadrat transect di zona intertidal dan subtidal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ditemukannya 32 spesies rumput laut yang termasuk dalam tiga kelas: Chlorophyceae (11 spesies), Phaeophyceae (11 spesies), dan Rhodophyceae (10 spesies). Preferensi substrat rumput laut yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah tipe substrat lithofitik (66%), dan rhizophitik (28 %). Sedangkan tipe subtrat lainnya dengan persentase yang sangat kecil, berupa: epifitik (4 %), dan drift macroalgae (2 %), dan epizoik tidak ditemukan. Adapun jenis substrat rumput laut yang ditemukan terdiri dari: karang hidup (live coral), karang mati (dead coral), pecahan karang (rubble), batu (rock), dan substrat campuran berupa sedimentasi laut yaitu: kerikil (gravel) dan pasir (sand).Variasi morfologi rumput laut terutama terlihat pada struktur holdfast, stipe, dan blade, yang menunjukkan adaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungan dan kesesuaian dengan tipe substrat. Alga coklat (Phaeophyceae) memiliki morfologi paling kompleks (holdfast kuat, stipe jelas, blade tebal), adaptif untuk perairan berarus kuat dan berombak. Alga hijau (Chlorophyceae) memiliki bentuk morfologi sederhana (holdfast filamen, blade tipis/lunak), adaptif di perairan tenang. Sedangkan Rhodophyceae(alga merah) memiliki variasi morfologi tinggi (holdfast fleksibel, blade berkapur/gelatin), dominan di zona berarus sedang. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan dasar ilmiah untuk konservasi dan pengembangan budidaya rumput laut berkelanjutan dengan mempertimbangkan kesesuaian substratdan ketahanan morfologis spesies. Selain itu, hasil studi ini dapat menjadi data acuan (baseline) untuk pemetaan ekologi rumput laut serta mendukung upaya restorasi dan pengelolaan kawasan pesisir Aceh Selatan secara lebih efektif.
