Abstract

Every child born into this world is in a state of fitrah (natural purity). However, this innate purity can undergo changes due to the influence of the environment in which they live and grow. This study aims to (1) understand the extent of environmental influence on the development of students, and (2) identify Islamic solutions for addressing global educational environmental issues. The method used in this study is library research, focusing on the collection and analysis of data from various relevant literature. The findings indicate that: (1) Substantially, the environment has a significant influence on students, both directly and indirectly. The environment in question includes the family, school, and community environments. Together, these three environments shape the character, morals, and values upheld by the students. (2) Islam offers comprehensive solutions to address global educational environmental issues by promoting the creation of integrated education. This integrated education necessitates harmonious cooperation among the three educational environments: family, school, and community. By working together, these three environments can support each other in forming a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also morally and spiritually strong, in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This article reports on a quantitative explanatory research conducted with nationwide survey 1000 of millennial Muslim generations in five major cities in Indonesia regarding the digital literacy. The results have found that the level of millennial Muslim’s digital literacy in Indonesia is quite good. In addition, this study argues that several generations of millennial Muslims unwittingly have contributed to spreading hoax because they mostly do not check or validate information to authoritative sources.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays an important role in shaping students' character, especially amid increasing moral challenges in the modern era. This study aims to analyze effective strategies for strengthening PAI in supporting the development of students' religious and moral character in the school environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation review in secondary education institutions. The results of the study indicate that the success of PAI in shaping character is determined by four main interrelated aspects, namely strengthening values-based curricula and direct practice, applying active and contextual learning methods, improving the competence and exemplary behavior of PAI teachers, and establishing a consistent religious school culture. The conclusion of the study confirms that PAI will function optimally if it runs as an integrated system that not only teaches religious knowledge but also internalizes values into concrete actions. This study contributes to providing a strategic framework for schools to implement PAI-based character education more effectively.
