Abstract

Background: Many factors cause stunting, one of which is health problems for young women (mothers-to-be) who are about to become pregnant. In several studies, smoking behavior and exposure to cigarette smoke also have an impact on pregnancy and fetal disorders which result in stunted babies being born. Before becoming pregnant, young women must really prepare their health. This preparation can start when you reach puberty until you are ready to become a prospective bride. The female bride-to-be (catin) is a woman of childbearing age who was in a healthy condition before becoming pregnant so that she can give birth to a normal and healthy baby and the male prospective bride-to-be will be introduced to the reproductive health problems of herself and the partner she will marry. Purpose: The aim of this activity is to help cadres in recruiting catin. Method: This service activity uses counseling and discussion methods for 30 cadres of prospective brides and grooms consisting of the Traditional Village Council, Village Kelian, Village Perbekel, Village PLKB, Village TPPS, and Village Midwife Element TPK. Results: There was an increase in post test scores after being given the material. The mean pre-test score was 68 and rose to 70. There was agreement in selecting potential brides, especially Hindu brides. This flow will be disseminated to each village, and will be socialized at every meeting with teenagers. So that teenagers who will later get married go through this flow. Conclusion: The importance of health screening for prospective brides and grooms to prevent stunting in children in the future. The catin flow is a tool to make it easier to disseminate information about how prospective brides and grooms, especially Hindus, report to Kelian Desa about their wedding plans.

Abstract

The waiting time for pharmaceutical services is an important indicator in assessing the quality of health services, including at Tk II Udayana Hospital, Denpasar Bali. Although the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (RME) has been implemented to improve efficiency, outpatients still often face quite long wait times. This study aims to analyze factors such as prescription type, destination poly, gender, and visit time that affect the waiting time of pharmaceutical services at the hospital's Pharmacy Installation. This study uses an observational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 205 outpatient data taken by Simple Random Sampling in June 2024. The collected data was then analyzed using the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results of the analysis showed that the type of prescription had a significant relationship with the waiting time for pharmaceutical services (p=0.001). Patients who received a concocted prescription experienced a longer wait time than patients who received a non-concocted prescription. However, other variables such as gender (p=0.099), visit time (p=0.091), and destination poly (p=0.084) did not show a significant relationship with waiting time. From the results of the study, the type of prescription proved to be the most influential factor on the waiting time for pharmaceutical services at Tk II Udayana Hospital. Therefore, efforts are needed to optimize the RME system and improve resource management, especially in handling concocted prescriptions, to reduce waiting times and increase patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Background: The health of adolescent girls is important. Teenage girls have a vital role in giving birth to a new generation (future mothers). Purpose: The research aimed to determine the description of blood pressure in adolescent girls and to analyze what factors were associated with the incidence of hypertension in adolescent girls. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional method with a descriptive approach. The sample of this research, a total of 1,193 adolescent girls at Jembrana Regency, Bali, Indonesia, from 5 high schools and vocational schools, was selected using purposive sampling. The adolescent girls were 15 to 19 years old with an average age of 16.5 years old. Blood pressure was categorized in children and adolescents by using four categories: normal, pre-hypertension, hypertension I, and hypertension II. Results: The research results on 1,193 adolescent girls showed that the majority of respondents had blood pressure in the normal category, totaling 1,031 individuals (86%). A total of 149 adolescent girls (12%) were in the pre-hypertension category, while stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension were found in 13 respondents (1%). The average systolic blood pressure of respondents was 116.3 mmHg (SD ±12.3), and diastolic blood pressure was 71.3 mmHg (SD ±9.8). The average age of respondents was 16.5 years (SD ±0.7). Bivariate analysis results showed that nutritional status based on BMI and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) had a significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension in adolescent girls (p < 0.05). Adolescents with overweight, obesity, and chronic energy deficiency (CED) status were more frequently found in the pre-hypertension and hypertension groups. Conclusions: It was concluded in this research that the majority of adolescent girls at Jembrana Regency, Bali-Indonesia had normal blood pressure. To prevent hypertension, adolescent girls have to maintain their health and change risk factors by optimizing their nutritional status.
