Abstract

This study examines the implementation of character education through the habit of Dhuha Prayer at MTs An-Nur Pamekasan. Character education plays an important role in shaping the nation's character and civilization, which is in line with the goal of national education, which is to educate the nation's life. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data is obtained through qualitative descriptive analysis by reducing data, presenting data to drawing data conclusions. Furthermore, the validity of the data was checked through triangulation techniques and using reference materials. The findings of the research are that the habit of Dhuha Prayer can provide character education value to students, create a school environment oriented to character development, students are also familiar with religious matters, discipline in any matter and responsible. And also several supporting factors in the form of teacher and parent motivation, student awareness and enthusiasm, as well as adequate facilities and infrastructure. There are also inhibiting factors, namely lack of time availability, lack of discipline and involving the family background of students who still have a minimal understanding of Islamic religious science.

Abstract

Mastering the English language is crucial for unlocking global career opportunities. To encourage students to learn this international language and prepare them for an English standardized test, a virtual webinar was held, featuring a native English expert and an English educator from Indonesia. The participants were 101 university students from a private university in Pasuruan who completed a survey to evaluate the webinar. The results showed that the participants became more motivated to delve deeper into learning English and taking the standardized test, including the TOEFL ITP. They also gained a deeper understanding of the power of English, particularly in terms of its impact on their cognitive skills and the international opportunities it offers. However, the study was still in its initial stage, and several in-person training series would have had a higher impact on the participants.

Abstract

Human resources who are superior and ready to compete in the changing times of the 21st century are the key to quality education. This can happen if the quality of educators is able to conduct research well, the smallest thing is to understand how learning in their class reflects and finds solutions to these problems. One of them is with class action research. The purpose of this mentoring activity is to provide PTK assistance to overcome the difficulties experienced by Madin students. This service activity uses the partisipatori method which consists of three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the results of this mentoring activity, it shows that the madin students are very enthusiastic about the PTK assistance that has been provided by the Service team so that this activity can run well and produce real work in carrying out PTK. The results of the evaluation of the PTK presentation and report were in accordance with the theory and principles of PTK by 84.62%, while 15.38% were due to other factors. This shows that there is an increase in knowledge and understanding of PTK, the ability to identify problems and critically find solutions and actions to their class problems, the big impact is to increase the professionalism of Madin students who are also Madin teachers. This assistance is expected to make the learning process in the classroom more innovative, fun and meaningful.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awwaliyah (MDTA) Anwarul Qur’an melalui strategi pengembangan program tahfidz. Pengembangan ini melibatkan kepala madrasah, pendidik, dan kualitas program agar madrasah semakin unggul di tengah masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengidentifikasi komponen yang dikembangkan dalam program tahfidz untuk meningkatkan daya saing, (2) menganalisis strategi pengembangan program, dan (3) mengevaluasi dampak pengembangan program bagi santri. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tiga tahap: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk memastikan validitas data, digunakan teknik perpanjangan pengamatan, pengamatan berkelanjutan, dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan program tahfidz mencakup tiga aspek utama: (1) Komponen Program meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran tahfidz. (2) Strategi Pengembangan dilakukan pada tingkat lembaga dengan perumusan tujuan, struktur program, serta pengembangan kurikulum di kelas. (3) Dampak Program berkontribusi dalam membentuk karakter santri yang disiplin, mandiri, berprestasi, serta memiliki akhlak mulia dan kejujuran. Program tahfidz yang unggul meningkatkan kualitas akademik dan non-akademik santri sesuai visi dan misi madrasah. Oleh karena itu, kepala madrasah dan pemangku kepentingan diharapkan terus mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kualitas program ini secara berkesinambungan agar daya saing madrasah semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Discord has become a widely used platform for language learning interactions, yet students’ perceptions of its influence on their motivation to speak English remain underexplored. This study investigates how English as a foreign language (EFL) students perceive Discord’s influence on their motivation to engage in speaking practice. This study employed a case study design. Fifteen EFL high school students participated in this study, selected for their active use of Discord for English practice. Data were collected through a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The findings indicate that students generally feel more confident speaking English on Discord, and most are encouraged to continue improving their speaking skills on the platform. Students also show positive engagement, demonstrated by their interest in participating, willingness to communicate, and persistence even when making mistakes. However, Discord has not yet become their preferred environment for speaking activities, as some students still favor traditional or other interactive learning contexts. This study concludes that Discord positively affects students’ speaking motivation by providing a supportive, flexible communication space. These insights highlight the potential of integrating communication-based platforms into language learning practices to enhance students’ willingness to engage in speaking beyond the classroom.

Abstract

Workshop persiapan program Fulbright Master’s dan Doctoral Degree di Mataram bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman komprehensif tentang program beasiswa Fulbright, persyaratan dan proses aplikasinya, serta membekali peserta dengan strategi dan tips praktis untuk meningkatkan peluang keberhasilan aplikasi, terutama dalam penulisan dua esai syarat beasiswa ini yaitu Personal Statement dan Study Objective. Pelaksanaan Kegiatan Workshop Fulbright Master’s dan Doctoral Degree dilakukan dalam bentuk pemaparan materi, diskusi, dan tanya jawab yang bertujuan untuk membahas strategi dan tips penulisan Personal Statement dan Study Objective di bawah bimbingan dua alumni beasiswa Fulbright. Dalam kegiatan ini, para pemateri menyampaikan informasi dan peserta dapat berinteraksi melalui tanya jawab. Selain itu, terdapat survei evaluasi dalam bentuk Google Form yang diisi oleh seluruh peserta. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas dari peserta merasa puas dengan format workshop yang berlangsung interaktif dan efektif. Selain itu, antusiasme peserta juga terlihat pada sesi tanya jawab di akhir workshop tersebut.
