Abstract

Breastmilk is the only perfect and best food for babies because it contains the nutritional elements needed by babies for optimal growth and development. Although the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency has increased from year to year, support for community participation and empowerment in health development has not been optimal. One solution that can help overcome barriers to exclusive breastfeeding is hypnobreastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypnobreastfeeding on the motivation of breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency in 2019. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pre-post-test design with a control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample size of 48 pregnant women from term to breastfeeding. Data analysis was done by using the Independent Two Mean Difference test (T-Test) using the Paired Sample Test. The results of the study on the Paired Sample Test showed a significant value (p) of 0.004, meaning that there was a significant difference in the motivation of breastfeeding before and after hypnobreastfeeding. Midwives always provide hypnobreastfeeding therapy and lactation education to help increase motivation for breastfeeding as part of efforts to increase exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding for up to 2 years or more. For other researchers, it is necessary to carry out further research with other variables that can affect the motivation of breastfeeding.

Abstract

Breastfeeding in a sitting position for 30 minutes with the mother's hand supporting the baby causes maternal fatigue. One way to increase motivation, breast milk production and reduce musculoskeletal disorder is by using a breastfeeding pillow. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using a breastfeeding pillow on motivation, milk production, and musculoskeletal disorder of breastfeeding mothers in the Pringsewu Regency in 2020. This study is a quasi-research. experiment with post-test design with control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, the number of samples was 48 breastfeeding mothers 0-1 months. The intervention group used a redesigned breastfeeding pillow, the control group used a regular breastfeeding pillow. The data were processed with univariate (mean) and bivariate analysis with Independent T-Test and Hotelling T-Test. The results showed that on average the respondents had the motivation to breastfeed in the high category, breast milk production in the good category, and musculoskeletal disorder in the not sick category. There were significant differences in motivation for breastfeeding, milk production, and musculoskeletal disorders between the group of mothers who used the redesigned breastfeeding pillow and the group that used the regular breastfeeding pillow. To midwives to promote the use of redesigned breastfeeding pillows to help increase motivation, milk production, and breastfeeding comfort so that musculoskeletal disorders do not occur and researchers can conduct further research with other variables that can affect motivation, milk production, and musculoskeletal disorders in breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

Stunted children at an early age have lower fluid intelligence. 48.6% of children aged 7-8 years have less cognitive ability. This study uses a case-control research design. The sample in this study included 113 case groups and 113 control groups. The independent variables in this study were maternal anemia, Choric Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women, pregnancy complications, maternal infection history, smoking habits, mother's height, age at pregnancy, mother's education, birth weight, birth length, gender of the baby, history of diarrheal infection, ARI, gestational age during pregnancy, birth gap, exclusive breastfeeding, weaning food, helminthiasis, child immunization, clean water, and family income. The dependent variable in this study is the incidence of stunting in children under five. The results showed that the variables related to stunting were maternal anemia, CED in pregnant women, mother's height, age at pregnancy, mother's education, birth weight, birth length, baby's gender, history of diarrheal infection, ARI, helminthiasis, and income. The analysis using the ROC obtained a confidence value of 8.5, which means very good, and the cut-off point that can be used in determining the risk of stunting is 8.5. It is necessary to socialize the use of stunting scoring cards to carry out early detection of toddlers to find out whether there is a risk of stunting so health workers can carry out proper assistance to apply the prevention efforts.

Abstract

Background: Maternal anxiety is a psychological factor that can interfere with the breastfeeding process, while breastfeeding self-efficacy—defined as a mother's confidence in her ability to breastfeed—is a strong predictor of exclusive breastfeeding success. Hypnobreastfeeding is a therapy that combines relaxation techniques and positive suggestions to help reduce anxiety and enhance self-efficacy. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of hypnobreastfeeding therapy in reducing anxiety levels and increasing breastfeeding self-efficacy among postpartum mothers. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a pre-test–post-test control group design was conducted involving 60 postpartum mothers selected using purposive sampling (30 in the intervention group, 30 in the control group). The intervention consisted of four hypnobreastfeeding sessions delivered over a two-week period. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and breastfeeding self-efficacy was assessed with the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form (BSES-SF). Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests to compare pre- and post-intervention scores. Results: The intervention group showed a statistically significant reduction in anxiety levels (p < 0.001) and a significant increase in breastfeeding self-efficacy scores (p < 0.001) compared to the control group. Conclusion: Hypnobreastfeeding is an effective intervention for reducing maternal anxiety and improving breastfeeding self-efficacy. It is recommended as a supportive approach in breastfeeding education and maternal mental health programs in clinical and community health settings.
