Abstract

Background: Breast milk production is the milk that comes out, marked by the release of colostrum during pregnancy and after delivery. The smooth production of breast milk is greatly influenced by psychological factors that need to be considered, such as anxiety. Research Objective: To determine the relationship between anxiety and the smooth flow of breast milk in post partum mothers in the Pasirjambu Community Health Center Working Area. Research Method: This study used a cross-sectional design. Data was collected in June 2024 from 36 respondents using total sampling techniques and questionnaires. Research Results: Smooth breast milk production is in the non-smooth category (83.3%). Statistical tests show that there is a significant relationship between the level of anxiety and the smooth flow of breast milk (p-value 0.000). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of anxiety and the smooth flow of breast milk in post partum mothers in the Pasirjambu Community Health Center Working Area. Suggestion: Post Partum mothers are expected to always be diligent in carrying out breast care starting before planning a pregnancy, to always be diligent in carrying out lactation massage after a few days of giving birth and to always be happy to reduce anxiety and facilitate the release of breast milk.

Abstract

Stress is the body's response to situations of pressure, threat, or change that come from within or outside. Stress is one of the factors that can cause dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is pain felt in the lower abdomen or cramps before menstruation that lasts 2-3 days, starting the day before menstruation begins. Stress can cause blood flow to be disrupted so that there is oxygen deficiency in the uterus (ischemia) and increase production and stimulate prostaglandins in the uterus, causing dysmenorrhea. This study aims to determine the relationship between Stress Levels and the Degree of Primary Dysmenorrhea Pain in Adolescents Girl of Class X SMAN 1 Banjaran. The type of correlation research, the population of this study was Adolescent Girls of Class X SMAN 1 Banjaran with a sample of 55 respondents and the sampling technique used a simple random sampling approach. The research instrument for stress levels used DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) and for Dysmenorrhea used the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) Questionnaire. Bivariate analysis used Spearman rank. The results of the study showed that there was a moderate stress level category of 29 respondents (52.7%), a moderate dysmenorrhea pain level category of 25 respondents (45.5%) out of a total of 55 respondents and there was a relationship between stress levels and the degree of dysmenorrhea pain in female adolescents in grade X of SMAN 1 Banjaran (p = 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of 0.504) so there was a fairly strong/moderate relationship. Suggestions for schools should provide a counseling place for adolescents who experience complaints related to adolescent reproduction because many adolescents are still embarrassed to consult directly with health services.

Abstract

A lack of knowledge about puberty can lead to discomfort, emotional instability, and risky behaviors such as dating, casual sex, and early pregnancy. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adolescents make up 18% of the global population. Puberty typical early occurring between the ages of 9 and 13. Report from the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) shows that 13.3% of adolescent girls are unaware of the physical changes that occur during puberty. This study aims to examine the effect of health education delivered through animated video media on students’ knowledge about puberty at SDN Pasirluhur, Bandung Regency. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The sample consists of 170 respondents, with 85 students in the animated video intervention group and 85 in the control group without intervention. Findings reveal that before the intervention, only 8.2% of students in the intervention group had good knowledge, which increased to 44.7% afterward. In contrast, in the control group, 84% of students initially had poor knowledge, and after the posttest without intervention, 80.0% still showed no improvement. An Independent T-test analysis produced a p-value of 0.000 at a 0.05 significance level, indicating a statistically significant difference. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that health education using animated video media significantly improves students’ knowledge about puberty.

Abstract

The Family Planning (FP) program aims to control the birth rate, one of which is through the use of the 1-month injectable contraceptive method. This study aims to determine the correlation between acceptors’ attitudes and behaviors with compliance to follow-up visits for the 1-month injectable contraceptive at the Independent Midwife Practice (TPMB) S in Karawang Regency in 2025. This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of all 1-month injectable contraceptive acceptors at TPMB S, totaling 50 respondents using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the chisquare test. The results showed that the majority of acceptors had negative attitudes (68%) respondents 34 and positive behaviors (64%) respondents 32. However, the level of compliance with follow-up visits was very low, with only 8% being compliant. The chi-square statistical test showed no significant correlation between attitudes and visit compliance (p = 1.000), as well as between behaviors and visit compliance (p = 1.000). In conclusion, there is no significant correlation between the attitudes and behaviors of FP acceptors and their compliance with follow-up visits for the 1-month injectable contraceptive at TPMB S in Karawang Regency.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents are a vulnerable age group to reproductive health problems known as the TRIAD of Adolescent Reproductive Health (TRIAD KRR), which includes risky sexual behavior, HIV/AIDS, and drug abuse. Limited knowledge and inappropriate attitudes toward reproductive health are factors that increase adolescents’ risk, particularly among junior high school students. Therefore, effective, participatory, and adolescent-friendly educational methods are needed to prevent TRIAD KRR. Methods: This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as a method for preventing TRIAD KRR by involving the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R) as peer educators at SMP Global Nusantara. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach was used. The participants were adolescents at SMP Global Nusantara selected through total sampling. The intervention was conducted using Focus Group Discussions facilitated by PIK-R peer educators. Data on knowledge and attitudes were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using a paired t-test. Results: The results showed a significant increase in the mean scores of adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes after the implementation of the Focus Group Discussion intervention. Statistical analysis indicated a p-value < 0.05, demonstrating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores for both knowledge and attitude variables. Conclusion: Focus Group Discussion involving PIK-R as peer educators is effective in improving adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward the prevention of TRIAD KRR. This method is recommended as an applicable and sustainable promotive and preventive strategy in adolescent reproductive health programs within the school setting.

Abstract

Background: Aromatherapy during childbirth is considered a complementary therapy to reduce pain intensity. Aromatherapy may influence the brain’s limbic system (the center of emotions) and stimulate the release of endorphins and enkephalins, which have analgesic effects, as well as serotonin, which helps reduce anxiety and tension. Objective: To determine the effect of peppermint aromatherapy on labor pain during the active phase of the first stage of labor at TPMB “S”, Ujungberung District, Bandung City. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sampling technique was total sampling, involving 30 women in the active phase of the first stage of labor. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) through an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis, with the Wilcoxon test to assess the effect of peppermint aromatherapy on labor pain. Results: Before the intervention, the majority of participants experienced severe pain (25 respondents; 83.3%), while 5 respondents (16.7%) reported moderate pain. After the intervention, most participants reported moderate pain (22 respondents; 73.3%), while only 1 respondent (3.4%) remained in the severe pain category (another category was recorded in 7 respondents; 23.3%). The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (α = 0.05). Conclusion: Peppermint aromatherapy significantly reduced labor pain during the active phase of the first stage of labor at TPMB “S”.
