Abstract

Email destruction is mainly due to the demineralization of mineral hydroxy apatite enamel due to chemical processes. Demineralization occurs when the pH of the mouth below the critical point (pH <5.5), due to the acidic conditions in the oral cavity, such as the consumption of fruit juices, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. One plant can prevent many diseases is Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Rosella flower contain the high of citric and malic acid. The purposes of this study is to determine the effect of steeping water rosella flower on the solubility of calcium ions in permanent teeth. The samples are 25 permanent maxillary premolars free of caries, divided into 5 groups. Each group were immersed in roselle calyx infusion of 1%, 2%, 4%, distilled water and soft drinks. The long immersion in roselle water for 3.5 days. The measurement of calcium levels regardless of the email using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The results showed that there were significant differences betweenthe concentrations of roselle infusion in permanent teeth dissolves the calcium ion. Levels of the solubility of calcium ions permanent teeth are soaked in water 1% rosella flower infusion of 128.7 ppm, 2% infusion of 94.5 ppm, 4% infusion of 54.2 ppm. The research conclusions are steeping water rosella flowers have a significant effect in dissolving the calcium ion of the permanent teeth. The higher concentration of steeping rosella flowers was soluble the lower levels the ion calcium in permanent teeth.

Abstract

Background: Effective education outreach is influenced by the media and methods used. Educating elementary school students requires methods that can capture their attention, such as using gaming media. With the advancement of technology, there are many interactive games that can be developed for use as educational tools. One interactive gaming medium that can be used for education outreach in this context is bingo. Modifying bingo into an educational medium can cultivate teamwork among students, enhance student engagement in learning, and create a more vibrant learning atmosphere. Objective: To analyze the level of dental health knowledge of 5th grade students at SDN Beji 2 Depok before and after education using the bingo game.  Method: This research employs a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. It was conducted at SDN Beji 2 Depok, utilizing total sampling, involving 47 students. The independent variable is the bingo game, and the dependent variable is the level of dental health knowledge among students. The instruments used include a questionnaire and the bingo game media. Data analysis is conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: This study shows the average value of dental health knowledge before playing with bingo games is 65.53 and after playing with bingo games is 93.62, with Wilcoxon test results of p<0.001. Conclusion: Bingo game is effective in improving dental health knowledge among elementary school students.

Abstract

Health education aims to raise awareness and encourage people to adopt healthy practices, especially in dental health for elementary school children. Dental health is crucial as it affects overall health and requires early intervention. Elementary school children are particularly at risk for dental issues. A screening at SD Muhammadiyah Meruyung Depok showed an average debris index of 2.7, indicating poor dental hygiene among students in grades IV and V. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of index debris and index plaque values before and after being given counseling using puzzle games with lectures. This type of research is analytical, the method used is Quasy Experimental pre and post test design with control group with a sample size of 66 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique and statistical tests using the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests were used to determine the effectiveness of the research results. The results of this study show that puzzle games are more effective than lectures. The average change value of puzzle games was higher than lectures for both index debris and index plaque. The statistical test results obtained a significant value 0.05. The conclusion from the research results is that puzzle games are more effective in reducing index debris and index plaque in class IV and V students at SD Muhammadiyah Meruyung Depok
