Abstract

Analisis data mengguanakan analisis statistik deskriptif, uji Independent Samples T-Test, analisis One-Way ANOVA.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of WRAP (Writing Assistance via Prompting) technique in improving writing skills among university students. The WRAP technique, which utilizes the help of writing prompts to facilitate the writing process, has been identified as a potential tool to effectively improve writing skills. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand university students' experiences and perceptions of this technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of participants' writing documents. The results showed that the WRAP technique can improve students' creativity, confidence, and writing structure. Participants reported improved abilities in organizing ideas and overcoming writer's block. In addition, the technique also facilitated constructive feedback, allowing students to develop writing skills iteratively. The findings suggest that the integration of the WRAP technique in the writing curriculum can provide significant benefits to the development of students' academic writing skills. This study concludes that the use of the WRAP technique as a pedagogical tool needs to be further considered to support writing learning at the higher education level.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges and opportunities in the use of technology for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews with teachers, students, and school administrators, as well as classroom observations and document analysis. Key findings indicate that significant challenges include limited access to technology, a lack of technical skills among teachers, and concerns about privacy and data security. However, technology also offers significant opportunities, such as increased student motivation, more adaptive learning, and broader access to educational resources. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive strategies to address these challenges, including better teacher training and the development of technological infrastructure. This study provides valuable insights for designing policies and practices that support the effective integration of technology in EFL teaching, with the hope of improving the quality of education in the digital era.

Abstract

English language learning in Indonesian schools is a crucial element in preparing students to face globalization and competition in the job market. This study explores the impact of English language learning on cognitive development, educational opportunities, and career prospects. Using a library research method, various literatures from SINTA, WoS and Scopus indexed journals were analyzed to identify the benefits and challenges associated with English language teaching. Findings indicate that English proficiency enhances critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and provides a competitive edge in the global job market. Despite policies such as the 2013 Curriculum improving English competencies, there are still disparities in teaching quality and resources. Challenges include limited access in rural areas and the need for more interactive pedagogical approaches. This study emphasizes the importance of sustained support from government, schools, and communities, as well as the utilization of educational technology to overcome these barriers. The conclusion of this study is that by improving English proficiency among students, Indonesia can enhance its global competitiveness and better prepare its youth for the era of globalization.

Abstract

This article explores the struggle for batik identity as a global Indonesian cultural heritage, focusing on its international recognition and the challenges of preservation. The introduction outlines the importance of batik as a cultural symbol and the challenges faced in the context of globalization. The research method employs a literature study approach, including an analysis of books, reputable journals, and sources indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, to evaluate the role of batik in cultural identity and the impact of globalization on its preservation. The research findings indicate that the recognition of batik as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2009 has increased global awareness and strengthened batik's position in the international market. However, globalization has also posed challenges, such as competition with modern textile products and shifting preferences among the younger generation. The discussion highlights the need for innovation in design and marketing, as well as preservation efforts through government policies and community participation. Thus, to ensure the sustainability of batik as a cultural heritage, collaboration between the government, society, and creative industry players is necessary, along with continuous education to enhance interest and relevance of batik in the modern era.

Abstract

Campursari represents a unique fusion between Western diatonic and Javanese pentatonic music. Its inception is rooted in the process of hybridity, a blending of diverse musical elements. In the realm of Indonesian music, "campursari" denotes a genre that integrates various contemporary Indonesian music styles. This study employs qualitative research through a musicological approach, specifically focusing on the aesthetic aspects of campursari music. Hybridity is a defining feature of campursari, setting it apart from other musical forms. This genre is characterized by the combination of disparate musical elements: traditional ethnic instruments such as gamelan, and modern instruments like electric guitars, basses, drums, and keyboards. This blend creates a distinctive hybrid music that emerges from the interplay between Western and traditional musical influences. Campursari artists skillfully merge these elements, resulting in a unique sound that bridges cultural and musical divides. The fusion inherent in campursari not only reflects a blend of different musical traditions but also highlights the genre’s role in evolving contemporary Indonesian music. The aesthetic study of campursari reveals how this hybridization contributes to its dynamic and distinctive musical identity.
