Abstract

Background: Oral health is an important part of an individual's overall health. The presence of disorders of the oral cavity can significantly affect a person's life. One of the problems that often arise is loose teeth. Loose teeth can be caused by disease or injury to the gums and the supporting tissues of the teeth. The most common factor that causes loose teeth is the buildup of plaque or tartar. This condition can cause damage to the bone that supports the teeth and the periodontal ligament which causes the teeth to become loose. In addition, a person's systemic conditions such as diabetes mellitus also aggravate the condition of tooth mobility. Method: This community service is carried out by counseling, distributing leaflets, poster, quiz, and giving door prizes. The audience's level of knowledge related to dental and oral health, especially periodontal tissue was evaluated using a questionnaire Result: 1 respondent (3.33%) had low oral hygiene habits, 24 respondents (83.3%) had moderate oral hygiene habits, and 4 respondents (13.3%) had very good/high oral hygiene habits. Conclusion: Dental and oral health education in the community can effectively improve oral hygiene

Collagen has an important role during the wound healing process. The content that can trigger the formation of collagen is phenolic compounds such as oleuropein, oleocanthal, and luteolin that can be found in olive oil. This study aims to determine the effect of olive oil cream 5% on the amounts of collagen on incision wounds process.Method: A quasy experimental design in vivo with a post-test only control group design on 12 wistar rats. The control group and the experimental group with 5% olive oil cream. Incision wounds was seen from the amount of collagen using One-Way Anova analysis.Result: The study showed that there was a significant effect of 5% olive oil on the amount of collagen with a significance of 0.000 (0<0.05).The results between the control group and the treatment had significant differences on 3th and 5th days. Conclusion: The conclusion is that there is an effect of giving 5% olive oil cream on the amount of collagen in the healing process of wistar incision lips.

Abstract

Background: This study aims to determine the differences in the effectiveness of education methods between the quartet card game method and the lectures method on the level of students' oral health knowledgeMethod: This study uses a cross-sectional study method. The subjects were 30 students of SD Islam Terpadu Asshodiqiyah Semarang by aged 11-12 years old. The subjects receive dental and oral health education. One group received education using the quartet card game method and the other group received education using the lectures method. The level of students' oral health knowledge was measured using a questionnaire (pre test and post test).Result: The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the quartet game method (p=0.036). There was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the lecture method (p=0.002). The Mann-Whitney test results showed no significant difference between the post-test scores of the quartet card game method and the test scores of the lecture method (p=0.254).Conclusion: Quartet card games can be used as an alternative learning method that can increase student involvement in learning, resulting in good knowledge retention
