Abstract

Climate change will contribute to increasing the frequency and severity of natural disasters with negative impacts on human life. Although disasters and climate change affect all populations, the impact on each gender, in terms of vulnerability, ability, and resilience, will be different. The impact of disasters and climate change is certainly heavier on women and children because women will struggle more to overcome the effects and have limited access to resource management. This research questions how women are affected by climate change and natural disasters and how climate change impacts trade work. The findings suggested that a new approach is needed for climate change, disaster management, and gender equality. This study examines traditional culinary traders at Oesapa Color Beach, most of whom are women victims of high waves destroying their place for business.

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the influence of digital marketing, brand awareness and emotional desire on McDonald's purchasing decisions in Kupang City. In this study, the three variables are integrated simultaneously to analyze how digital marketing, brand awareness and emotional desire drive McDonald's purchasing decisions in Kupang City. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a Google form with a Likert scale of 1-5 from 150 respondents. The results of the study indicate that digital marketing, brand awareness, and emotional desire have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. This study is limited to a sample that only includes consumers in the Kupang City area, so the findings cannot be generalized widely to other areas that may have different market characteristics, consumer preferences, or purchasing power levels. The contribution of this study can be a practical reference for fast food business actors in designing strategies that integrate digital marketing, brand awareness, and emotional desire optimally to increase consumer purchasing decisions in the Eastern Indonesia market.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of profitability and liquidity on stock returns, with dividend policy as a mediating variable in banking companies listed on the IDX for 2021-2023. Profitability is measured by ROA and ROE, liquidity by CR, dividend policy by DPR, and stock returns based on price changes. The study applies linear regression analysis and Sobel mediation test, using secondary data from 15 companies selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 45 observations. The findings indicate that ROE positively affects dividend policy, while ROA has no significant impact. Liquidity negatively affects dividend policy, suggesting that firms with high liquidity tend to retain earnings. ROE positively influences stock returns, while ROA has a negative impact. Liquidity and dividend policy do not significantly affect stock returns. Dividend policy does not mediate the effect of ROA and ROE on stock returns but significantly mediates the relationship between liquidity and stock returns. This study suggests that investors prioritize equity-based profitability, while management should balance liquidity and dividend policies to maintain company attractiveness

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a local wisdom-based tourism development approach as a strategy to enhance community income growth while ensuring cultural and environmental sustainability. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing findings from Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and a case study conducted in Southwest Sumba Regency. The research concludes that the key to success lies in synergistic collaboration among the community, local government, and the private sector, with a focus on local community sovereignty. Tourism will achieve maximum effectiveness when communities and traditional institutions are elevated from passive objects to active agents controlling tourism potential. This can be realized through: (1) Increasing equitable economic welfare, measured by the growth in turnover of small businesses (such as homestays and crafts) and job creation; (2) Preserving culture and traditional values, where traditional rules serve as operational standards and tools for socio-cultural governance; and (3) Synergistic and transparent governance, supported by strengthening the capacity of Pokdarwis and BUMDes. The primary implication of this research is that recognizing communities as the principal custodians of cultural and natural resources transforms tourism from a mere revenue generator into an effective tool for preserving traditions, supported by direct community incentives and responsibilities. The sustainability of this model relies heavily on the proactive role of local governments as facilitators and the engagement of a responsible private sector committed to local empowerment.
