Abstract

This study is aimed to know the kinds of phonological interference happen on the English pronunciation of the students of an elementary school in Kediri, East Java. The data were collected by asking the students to read a passage, and this activity was audio-recorded. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative on content analysis. The result of the analysis showed that the phonological interference on the English pronunciation of the students was influenced by their Indonesian language system. It was found nineteen types of interference on the segmental aspects which consisted of nine vowel substitutions, two vowel shortenings and four consonant substitutions, two deletions of consonants and two additions of consonants. On the suprasegmental aspect (stress) there weretwenty misplaced stresses.Keywords;Phonological interference, segmental, suprasegmental.

Abstract

Kegiatan ekonomi khususnya di bidang perdagangan yang sedang berkembang pesat adalah bisnis dengan sistem waralaba/franchise. Pertumbuhan bisnis waralaba di Indonesia saat ini tergolong sangat pesat, karena melibatkan banyak pengusaha lokal maupun asing yang berperan sebagai pemberi waralaba maupun penerima waralaba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis praktik bisnis franchise/waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes, untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis pertumbuhan bisnis franchise/waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes dan untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis praktik bisnis franchise/waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto dalam perspektif fiqih muamalah. Penelitian ini bersifat penelitian kualitatif, yaitu menganalisis dan mendesripsikan tentang konsep bisnis dan tata cara bagaimana franchise di Sambel Lombok Resto, prosedur–prosedurnya, praktik–praktik franchisenya. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian menggunakan pendekatan empiris. Pendekatan empiris dimaksudkan memeberikan jawaban–jawaban terhadap permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan kenyataan yang terjadi di dalam masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan masalah yang hendak dikaji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik bisnis franchise/waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto Pendirian Sambal Lombok Resto Brebes diawali dengan adanya suatu agreement atau perjanjian franchise atau waralaba antara pihak manajemen (franchisor) dengan Bapak Abdul Basit, MA selaku franchisee, yang mana dalam perjanjian waralaba tersebut memuat pasal – pasal yang terdiri dari 15 pasal perjanjian. Pertumbuhan Bisnis Franchise/Waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes Perkembangan Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes sangatlah signifikan, hal ini bisa dibuktikan dengan keberadaan nya yang sudah 4 tahun dan adanya penambahan karyawan yang semula 5 orang menjadi 9 orang, oleh karenanya bisa dikatakan jika franchisee telah berhasil dalam memilih binis franchise dan juga pernah membuat Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes 2 yang berada di Banjaratama, akan tetapi bertahan cuma 2 tahun dikarenakan kios tempat Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes 2 terkena proyek pelebaran jalan raya dan praktik bisnis franchise/waralaba Sambel Lombok Resto dalam perspektif fiqh muamalah bisnis Sambel Lombok Resto Brebes merupakan bentuk Syirkah yang secara fiqh muamalah/agama adalah di bolehkan dan secara hukum positif juga diperbolehkan.

Abstract

Pengembangan Lembaga Bahasa Indonesia Penutur Asing (BIPA) sangat diperlukan oleh IAIN Kediri, karena selain mendukung instrument akreditasi terkait mahasiswa asing juga mendukung visi institut yakni unggul bertaraf internasional. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kualitatif deskriptif, di mana peneliti  berperan sebagai alat utama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan beberapa peluang pengembangan Lembaga BIPA di IAIN Kediri, yaitu ketersediaan sumber daya manusia yang berkompeten, ketercukupan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai dan referesentatif, posisi wilayah yang strategis dan mudah diakses dari luar kota Kediri serta lingkungan yang kondusif dalam mendukung pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian permulaan dalam mengembangkan Lembaga BIPA di IAIN Kediri. Dengan demikian hal tersebut menjadi peluang peneliti selanjutnya agar pengembangan Lembaga BIPA dapat terwujud dengan baik dan menunjang visi misi institusi.Kata Kunci: Manajemen; Pengembangan; BIPA.

Abstract

Potensi UMKM perlu dikembangkan melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat guna memperbaiki kemasan dan pengembangan teknologi tepat guna serta pengembangan jaringan pemasaran digital agar meningkatkan daya saing produk olahan industri rumahan UMKM di Desa ringinpitu. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memecahkan kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh UMKM produk industri rumahan di Desa ringinpitu, Kecamatan plemahan, Kabupaten kediri melalui pendampingan dalam proses pengembangan desain kemasan (packaging) produk dan digital marketing yang dihasilkan oleh UMKM. Rancangan desain medote pelaksanaan pengabdian menggunakan metode PAR (Participatory Action Research). Hasil kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat adalah peningkatan pemahaman rancangan dan desain kemasan baru melalui pelatihan pengembangan kemasan sampai terbentuk nama brand dan label produk, terciptanya kemasan yang inovatif, menarik, dan kekinian. Selain itu juga mempromosikannya lewat media sosial seperti Website, WhatsApp dan Facebook sehingga diharapkan dapat mendapatkan pembeli baru bagi UMKM serta secara mandiri memperluas distribusi produk, menggunakan e-commerce dan media sosial sebagai sarana promosi serta penjualan.

Abstract

Speaking anxiety is a pervasive issue among university students, particularly in contexts that require public speaking or oral performance. However, research on this variable in public speaking class in a university context is quite limited. This research aimed to determine the levels of students' speaking anxiety in the public speaking class. A quantitative method was used with a survey design in this research. The instrument used is the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) to measure students' speaking anxiety levels and to determine the dominant anxiety level that occurs in the public speaking class. The results showed that students have different levels of anxiety. There were 2 (2%) students who experienced speaking anxiety at the “Anxious” level, 35 (34%) students experienced speaking anxiety at the “Mildly Anxious” level, 51 (50%) students were at the “Relaxed” level, and 14 (14%) students are at the "Very Relaxed" level. The dominant level of students’ speaking anxiety experienced by students is at the “Relaxed” level, as proven by 51 students who had to fill out the questionnaire. Several aspects can affect the level of students' speaking anxiety in English classes, including less interest in English lessons, age, less practice, and gender. Findings highlight the need for targeted interventions in public speaking courses to help students manage anxiety.

Abstract

This article examines the role of principals as instructional leaders based on Weber's theory (1996), which emphasizes five main dimensions in instructional leadership: school mission, curriculum and instruction management, learning climate, support for professional development, and monitoring and evaluation of learning. The study uses a qualitative approach and literature review to identify concrete steps that principals can take to build a quality educational environment that is responsive to the needs of students and the community. The findings indicate that implementing these five dimensions plays a crucial role in improving student learning outcomes and teaching effectiveness in schools. Principals who can effectively manage pedagogical, managerial, and social competencies can create a conducive learning climate and foster collaboration. This article recommends that principals strengthen their data analysis skills, encourage continuous professional development, and involve the entire school community in data-driven decision-making to achieve more optimal educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to find out types of mood systems and systems of transitivity used in fast food restaurant slogans and to find out how fast food restaurant slogans use mood systems and transitivity. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative design. The researcher takes McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Subway, and Pizza Hut as slogans. There are four types of mood systems, namely declarative, imperative, interrogative and exclamative. Based on the analysis of the slogans used in fast food restaurant, the most dominant types used is declarative mood (73,7%), while the second types is imperative mood (15,8%), the third place is interrogative mood (10,5%), and there is no exclamative mood (0%). According to analysis of the transitivity system based on Halliday’s theory, the result of this analysis found material processes (47,4%) is the most dominant process, while relational processes (36,8%), mental processes (15,8%), and there is no verbal, behavioural and existential processes used in fast food restaurant slogans. Based on Halliday’s theory, mood types have their own function in the clause. Mostly, the function of the slogans is found in the declarative mood, is the writer (companies) conveys the information and makes a statement to the reader (customer). While imperative mood is found in fast food restaurant slogans also has a function. Its function is for the writer (companies) to convey the command and order to the reader (customer). Although interrogative only two clauses are found in fast food restaurant slogans, it function is the writer (companies) asks the question to the reader (customer).

Abstract

SMA Negeri 2 Nganjuk is a public school that focuses on learning materials in general subjects. Most of the students who enter and pass the selection at this school come from junior high schools which are also public schools with heterogeneous environmental backgrounds, both in terms of education, religiosity, and economic level. With this diversity, it is certainly not an easy thing as a teacher to teach religious education materials, especially related to the translation of a verse of the Qur'an. In the learning process, the selection of the Discovery learning (Puzzle) model is very necessary in improving the understanding of the meaning per word of the Qur'an Yunus verses 40-41. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the Discovery Learning (Puzzle) model to improve the understanding of the meaning per word of the Qur'anic verse in the letter Yunus verses 40-41 at SMA Negeri 2 Nganjuk. To achieve the research objectives above, the researcher used the data collection technique used in this study was observation or observation. Research data obtained through observation and documentation, as the subject in this study was class XI IPS 3 with a total of 35 students. Data collection was obtained from research subjects which included test data on student learning outcomes in the form of written tests and skills tests for students to remember and memorize the meaning of words in the Qur'an Yunus: 40-41 which were formed during group demonstrations. The results of the research in the first cycle are that the teacher is less able to manage the class, the discussion does not run optimally, the students are less motivated, because the discussion in the group runs as it is. The results of the research in Cycle II, namely the appropriate learning media will be able to increase the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of students in understanding the subject matter being taught. One of them is the selection of media using this puzzle, it turns out to be very fitting with the material to understand the verse by word of the Qur'an Surah Yunus verses 40-41. Students are classically motivated by experience and learning models that are looking for, matching, and mentioning it again.
