Patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are at risk for complications if not handled properly, one of the complications that often occurs is wounds on the feet which eventually become Diabetic Ulcers. One of the preventions for diabetic ulcers is regular foot care that will effectively prevent diabetic ulcers. Good knowledge about diabetes disease and wound care is needed for the implementation of diabetic wound care in patients in Dendang Village, Stabat District, Langkat Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the patient's level of knowledge with diabetes mellitus wound care measures in Dendang Village, Stabat District, Langkat Regency. 2020. This type of research is a correlation description using a cross sectional research design, the number of samples is 89 respondents. The results of this study showed 22 respondents (24.7%) with good knowledge, 41 respondents (46.1%) with sufficient knowledge and 26 respondents (29.2%) with less knowledge. Based on diabetes wound care, 43 respondents (48.3%) took good care of wounds, and 46 respondents (51.7%) did not treat wounds properly. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between the level of patient knowledge and the action of diabetic wound care, which is significant P Value is 0.000, df is equal to 2, where sig < 0.000 <0.05, it is expected that puskesmas nurses will provide motivation to patients and families to improve foot care. Diabetic patients in the family by involving diabetic patients participate in foot care education activities at the puskesmas in healing diabetic wounds.

Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), there are almost 1.7 billion cases of diarrhea occurring in the world each year. Diarrhea is the second leading cause of child mortality. In Indonesia, children suffer from diarrhea more than 12 times per year, which is the cause of death for 15-34% of all causes of death. The primary treatment for diarrhea itself is to overcome the occurrence of dehydration. Rehydration therapy is very effective in reducing diarrhea mortality due to dehydration; by WHO in 2015, proper management of dehydration is using low osmolarity oral rehydration fluids such as Salt Sugar Solution or ORS. The preliminary study results are known; one of the efforts of parents in overcoming dehydration in their children who suffer from diarrhea is by giving fluids, but with the amount, frequency, and type of fluids that are not by the fluids needed by the body. Parents only give fluids when the child asks for and complains of feeling thirsty. The formulation of the problem in this study is "How is the Relationship between Parental Behavior in Handling Oralhydration with the Incidence of Dehydration in Toddler Children with Diarrhea, Sumber Mulyo Rejo Village, East Binjai District, North Sumatra in 2021. This type of research uses a correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample are parents—as many as 42 children under five and have experienced diarrhea (dehydration). The results showed the value of df = 2 and P-value = 0.002 less than 0.05 (0.002 < 0.05) then the hypothesis was accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the behavior of parents in handling oral hydration with the incidence of dehydration in children under five with diarrhea. As a suggestion, it is hoped that health workers can educate parents about the management of dehydration and recognize signs of dehydration in children with diarrhea.

Abstract

Abstract

The gig economy in Indonesia has grown rapidly, but gig workers face significant challenges, including job stress and health issues that impact their resilience. This study examines how work support influences work resilience among gig workers in North Sumatra, focusing on the mediating roles of job stress, mental health, and physical health. The objective was to investigate the direct and indirect effects of work support on resilience in a culturally relevant context. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 387 gig workers, including ride-hailing drivers, food delivery workers, and freelancers, using validated scales to measure work support, job stress, mental health, physical health, and resilience. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling to test direct and mediating relationships. The findings show that work support directly enhances resilience and indirectly improves it by reducing job stress and improving mental and physical health. The model explains a significant portion of resilience variance, highlighting the critical role of support in mitigating gig work challenges. In conclusion, comprehensive support systems are essential for fostering resilience among gig workers, particularly in Indonesia, where cultural and platform-related factors shape worker well-being.

Abstract

Breast milk contains substance known as IgA for the defense system in digestive tract against infection. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding in Sidomulyo, Stabat. The type of research used is a descriptive analytic survey using a cross sectional study. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with 150 as population and 30 people is involved as the research sample.  The data analysis applied chi square test to determine the relationship between two variables. The results of this study revealed that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge of exclusive breast feeding with a significant level (É‘) = 5% (0.05) and df = 2, the result is value = 0.026 at df = 2 where sig <É‘ (0.026 < 0.05) then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.  Therefore, mothers are advised to continue to provide exclusive breastfeeding to their babies even though they work by storing breast milk in the refrigerator.
