Abstract

This study aims to analyze the enhancement of mathematical connection ability and self-study of senior high school students through an open-ended approach. The research method used in this study was a mixed method with embedded type and a quasi-experimental design. The populations of this study were all students of public senior high schools in Karawang. Furthermore, the sample of this study was the tenth-grade students. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data in this study was collected by mathematical connection ability test and self-study test. The results are: 1) the achievement and enhancement of mathematical connection ability of students that use an open-ended approach is better than students who use conventional learning; 2) self-study of students that use an open-ended approach is better than students who use conventional learning; 3) there is a significant association between the qualification of students’ mathematical connection ability and students’ self-study. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students and teachers need a learning that can stimulate students’ intellectual abilities and experiences in the process of finding something new.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was determine the application of contextual teaching learning approach to improve the mastery of concepts volume of the rotary object. The study design was nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection technique used pretest and posttest to determine the mastery of concepts of volume of the rotary object. Hypothesis testing using t-test to compare the the mastery of concepts volume of the rotary object in the experimental class and control class, then a further test by comparing the mean (compare means) and average absolute gain Based on the research result the data show that it can be concluded that the approach of contextual learning significantly distinction of concepts volume of the rotary object. Keywords:  Contextual Teaching Learning Approach, The Mastery of Concepts, Volume of The Rotary Object

Abstract

This program is one of the community service programs carried out by groups of lecturers and student representatives of the mathematics education program at UNSIKA. This program is in the form of providing tutoring outside school hours to elementary school students in mathematics. Most students are of the view that mathematics is difficult, the scores obtained in the National Examination are still lacking. Based on these conditions, we will design a program to assist schools in providing tutoring for their students in facing the National Examination. The form of the program is in the form of providingtutoring for elementary school students, to facilitate student learning in facing the National Exam in the National Examination Ready program. For the implementation of this activity, the mathematics textbooks and modules that are designed for guidance and study must be prepared. The material to be applied is about mathematics material that has been summarized from first grade to sixth grade material. The structure of teaching materials for each topic begins with concepts, example questions, exercises, discussion and key answers. The textbook is ready to be used for the program.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCommunity service with the theme of utilizing animated videos is motivated by the lack of utilization of media that can be used as support for learning. Animated video is one of the media that should be used by school teachers in learning, especially math learning. Low student interest in learning is partly due to the absence of interesting media in learning activities at school. The purpose of this Abdimas activity is to introduce to students that learning can use media in the form of animated videos which are like watching a movie but the content of the movie is a subject matter. This Abdimas activity was carried out at Sungaibuntu II Elementary School, Pedes District, Karawang Regency on October 9, 2023. The animated videos used in this Abdimas activity are in the form of mathematics materials such as the introduction of flat shapes, arithmetic about gross, tare and netto. The results obtained from this Abdimas activity are that students feel happy to learn with this animated video and all students can understand well, this can be seen when at the end of the video, students can recount the material that has been listened to. Schools feel happy with this activity and as a motivation for teachers to make interesting media for learning both math and other subjects. Keywords: Learning media, animated video  ABSTRAKPengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan pengambilan tema pemanfaatan video animasi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemanfaatan media yang bisa digunakan sebagai penunjang untuk pembelajaran. Video animasi merupakan salah satu media yang seharusnya bisa digunakan oleh guru sekolah dalam pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran matematika. Minat belajar siswa yang rendah salah satunya dikarenakan tidak adanya media yang menarik di dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Tujuan dari kegiatan Abdimas ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan kepada siswa bahwa untuk belajar itu bisa menggunakan media berupa video animasi yang mana seperti menonton film tetapi isi dari filmnya tersebut sebuah materi pelajaran. Kegiatan Abdimas ini dilaksanakan di SD Sungaibuntu II Kecamatan Pedes Kabupaten Karawang pada tanggal 9 Oktober 2023. Video animasi yang digunakan dalam kegiatan Abdimas ini yaitu berupa materi-materi matematika seperti pengenalan bangun datar, aritmatika soaial tentang bruto, tara dan netto. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan Abdimas ini yaitu siswa merasa senang belajar dengan video animasi ini dan semua siswa bisa paham dengan baik, ini terlihat ketika di akhir video, siswa bisa mencerikatan kembali materi yang telah disimak. Sekolah merasa senang dengan adanya kegiatan ini dan sebagai motivasi untuk para guru untuk membuat media yang menarik untuk pembelajaran baik matematika maupun pelajaran lainnya. Keywords: Media pembelajaran, video animasi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi korelasi antara nilai tugas dan nilai ulangan harian pada siswa kelas 7A. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data nilai tugas dan ulangan harian dari siswa selama periode tertentu. Analisis statistik, termasuk korelasi Pearson atau Spearman, digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara kedua variabel ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan antara nilai tugas dan nilai ulangan harian, meskipun variasi dalam data menyoroti pentingnya faktor-faktor kontekstual seperti strategi belajar siswa dan tekanan ujian. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana pendekatan penilaian dapat mempengaruhi kinerja akademik siswa dan implikasinya dalam pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih adaptif.
