Abstract

This study examines the role of the concept of Shiddiq and religiosity in the management of coffee plantation agriculture in Tiris District, Probolinggo. While coffee farming practices in Indonesia generally still rely on conventional methods, this research identifies a gap in studies linking religiosity values, particularly Shiddiq, with agricultural sustainability. The aim of this study is to understand how the concept of Shiddiq is applied by coffee farmers in their agricultural practices and its impact on sustainability and social welfare. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews and observations with farmers in Segaran Village. The findings show that the value of Shiddiq supports the implementation of organic farming and sustainable natural resource management, which contributes to improved soil quality and crop yields, while also preserving the environment. This study suggests that the integration of religiosity values into agricultural management can serve as an effective model for environmentally friendly and sustainable farming practices.

Abstract

The main issue in mosque maintenance is the need for funding. In Lumajang, several areas in Jatiroto subdistrict and its surroundings frequently conduct fundraising on the highways to expedite the construction or rehabilitation of mosques. Another alternative is to obtain operational assistance from the government by integrating or registering with SIMAS. Optimizing SIMAS is important to support the management and dissemination of mosque-related information. The focus of the research is: 1) How does the Islamic Guidance Section optimize SIMAS? 2) How is the effectiveness of mosque data collection improved at the Lumajang Office of Religious Affairs? This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive research type. The research subjects are selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques follow the Miles and Huberman model. Data validity is ensured using source and technique triangulation. The results of this study are as follows: In optimizing SIMAS, 1) The Islamic Guidance Section synergizes with the Village Government, KUA, and DMI. 2) Provides accurate and easily accessible mosque information to the public. 3) Offers friendly and informative services. There has been an increase in the effectiveness of mosque or prayer room data collection. As of May 2023, approximately 1,382 mosques and around 3,422 prayer rooms in Lumajang have been recorded in SIMAS, complete with addresses, land area, building area, Google Maps locations, and the number of mosque staff.

Abstract

The implementation of Hajj is regulated by Law No. 8 of 2019 concerning the organization of Hajj and Umrah. The Ministry of Religious Affairs, as the institution responsible for managing and organizing Hajj and Umrah, faces challenges regarding the issuance of release permits. Jember Regency ranks among the highest in terms of Hajj cancellations. The purpose of this study is to determine: 1) Strategic management in addressing Hajj cancellation cases at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office in Jember Regency, 2) Supporting and inhibiting factors in handling Hajj cancellation cases. This research adopts a qualitative approach, presented descriptively. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows: The strategic management applied by the Hajj Management Unit (PHU) in addressing Hajj cancellations includes conducting educational programs for pilgrims, collaborating with KBIHU (Hajj and Umrah Guidance Institutions), KUA (Office of Religious Affairs), and socializing both directly at the location or through social media and Sharia Banks. The supporting factor in implementing strategic management to address cancellations is the cooperation between external and internal parties in the process of handling cancellations at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office in Jember Regency. The inhibiting factors include miscommunication with prospective pilgrims and the involvement of certain travel agents who exploit the Hajj cancellation process to attract pilgrims, enticing them to perform Umrah instead.

In this study, the author employs a qualitative approach with descriptive research. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that: a) the propagation strategy in enhancing the religious values of Muslims, especially in Puja Mandala, involves creating programs consisting of educational activities, worship activities, community social activities, and socio-economic activities. These activities are further divided into several fields implemented on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. b) the religious values of Muslims at the Ibnu Batutah Grand Mosque have increased, as each propagation program contains indicators for increasing values, namely creed, Sharia, and morality.
