Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of doses of Liquid Organic Fertilizer coffee peels and planting media on the growth of Caisim mustard seeds (Brassica chinensis var. parachinensis). This type of research is quantitative. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factor treatment design, namely the addition factor of liquid organic fertilizer dose and the type of planting medium, which consisted of 5 treatment levels with 2 replications. So that 10 experimental units were obtained for each type of planting medium, so that 30 polybags were found with experimental units including 0 ml POC (P1), 5 ml POC (P2), 10 ml POC (P3), 15 ml POC (P4), 20 ml POC (P5) and soil (M1), cocopeat (M2), roasted husks (M3). Parameters observed include stem length, root length, number of roots and number of leaves. Data analysis technique used ANOVA test of variance at 5% level and DMRT follow-up test at 5% level. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the effect of dosing of organic fertilizers was not significantly different on the growth of mustard seeds, whereas the effect of the planting media on the growth of mustard seeds was significantly different and for the planting medium which had the maximum effect was the M3 treatment (burnt husk planting medium) indicated by the highest mean value of several DMRT tests for other M (planting media) treatments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis perekat dan jumlah tekanan terhadap karakteristik terhadap ketahanan lama nyala bara api pada briket. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah tekanan pengepresan 1 tekanan, 2 tekanan, 3 tekanan, dan jenis perekat. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengujian berupa angka, kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jumlah tekanan pengepresan dan jenis perekat berpengaruh terhadap kadar air, kadar abu dan laju pembakaran karakteristik briket yang meliputi kadar air, kadar abu dan jumlah tekanan dihasilkan oleh jenis perekat sagu dengan jumlah tekanan 3 kali menghasilkan lama pembakaran sebesar 3,25 jam/menit. Untuk jumlah tekanan semakin tinggi nilai jumlah tekanan pengepresan maka karakteristik briket yang meliputi kadar air, kadar abu terbaik dihasilkan oleh tekanan pengepresan sebesar 3 kali yaitu kadar abu sebesar 2% Kadar air sebesar 5% dan untuk laju pembakaran dihasilkan sebesar 3,25 jam/menit.

Abstract

The green mustard plant (Brassica juncea L) is a plant that can adapt well to places with hot or cold air. Liquid smoke is known to contain various bioactive compounds that can affect chlorophyll levels in mustard plants. This research uses quantitative methods to determine the effect of liquid smoke on chlorophyll levels in mustard green plants. This research was carried out on mustard green plants that were given liquid smoke from certain fuels in a laboratory environment. The variable measured was the chlorophyll content in plant leaves, which is considered the main indicator of plant photosynthetic health. This research used a randomized block design with two treatments, namely a control group without administration of liquid smoke and a treatment group with liquid smoke for a certain period of time. Chlorophyll levels were measured using the Uv-Vis Spectrophotometry method. The results of this study showed that control mustard greens had a total chlorophyll content of 10.28 mg/L and mustard greens with liquid smoke had a total chlorophyll content of 7.47 mg/L. Control mustard greens had a higher chlorophyll content than mustard greens treated with liquid smoke.
