Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of doses of Liquid Organic Fertilizer coffee peels and planting media on the growth of Caisim mustard seeds (Brassica chinensis var. parachinensis). This type of research is quantitative. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factor treatment design, namely the addition factor of liquid organic fertilizer dose and the type of planting medium, which consisted of 5 treatment levels with 2 replications. So that 10 experimental units were obtained for each type of planting medium, so that 30 polybags were found with experimental units including 0 ml POC (P1), 5 ml POC (P2), 10 ml POC (P3), 15 ml POC (P4), 20 ml POC (P5) and soil (M1), cocopeat (M2), roasted husks (M3). Parameters observed include stem length, root length, number of roots and number of leaves. Data analysis technique used ANOVA test of variance at 5% level and DMRT follow-up test at 5% level. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the effect of dosing of organic fertilizers was not significantly different on the growth of mustard seeds, whereas the effect of the planting media on the growth of mustard seeds was significantly different and for the planting medium which had the maximum effect was the M3 treatment (burnt husk planting medium) indicated by the highest mean value of several DMRT tests for other M (planting media) treatments.

Abstract

Tanah merupakan salah satu media tumbuh yang biasanya digunakan dalam budidaya pertanian. merupakan salah satu faktor lingkungan yang tanah memiliki berbagai sifat fisik, kimia, dan biologi. Sifat fisik tanah terdiri dari tekstur dan struktur. Tekstur tanah terdiri dari ukuran fraksi pasir, debu, dan liat. Tekstur tanah mempengaruhi kemampuan tanah dalam menahan air dan juga pertumbuhan akar tanaman. Tanah yang baik harus mengandung unsur hara makro dan mikro esensial, bahan organik, kapasitas pertukaran kation, dan pH tanah yang sesuai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik tanah pertanian di Dusun Banjarsari, Kecamatan Bandarkedungmulyo, Kabupaten Jombang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan pada Desember 2021. Tempat pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah di Desa Banjarsari, Bandarkedungmulyo, Jombang, Jawa Timur dan laboratoriun Fakultas Pertanian Universitas KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah Jombang. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanah di lokasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa memiliki porositas rendah, sedang, hingga tinggi. Tanah dengan porositas tinggi terdapat pada horizon III. Kapasitas pertukaran kation tertinggi juga terdapat pada horizon III. Aerasi tanah yang baik akan dipengaruhi oleh tingginya porositas tanah. Pada horizon I tanah memiliki porositas rendah karena banyak mengandung fraksi lempung, sehingga lebih sesuai untuk pertumbuhan akar tanaman.

Abstract

Training on making photosynthetic bacteria (Synechococcus sp.) as plant fertilizer aims to increase participants' knowledge and skills in utilizing photosynthetic microorganisms to support sustainable agriculture. Synechococcus sp., a type of cyanobacteria, has the ability to carry out photosynthesis and produce important nutrients such as nitrogen, which plays a role in increasing soil fertility. Through a service approach based on Participatory Action Research (PAR), this training involves active participation of participants in all stages of the process. This training covers various topics, starting from an introduction to the characteristics and benefits of Synechococcus sp. to isolation techniques, culture, and practical applications in agriculture. Participants are taught in depth how to process these bacteria and apply them to planting media with the aim of increasing productivity and plant health. In addition, participants were given an understanding of the importance of microorganisms in maintaining the balance of agricultural ecosystems. The training evaluation showed very positive results, with a significant increase in participants' understanding of the role of photosynthetic microorganisms in improving soil and plant quality. Participants' interest in applying this technique on their agricultural land was also very high, showing great potential for widespread application of this method. It is hoped that through this training, more environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture can be created by utilizing biological resources, such as Synechococcus sp., to maintain soil health and support sustainable food production.

Abstract

This community service article explores the development of organic insecticides derived from tobacco leaf extract as an environmentally friendly solution for farmers in Ngusikan Village. The primary objective is to reduce the dependency on chemical pesticides, which pose significant health risks and environmental pollution. Through training sessions and direct practice, farmers learned the process of producing natural pesticides, gaining awareness of the benefits of sustainable agriculture. The results indicate increased farmer knowledge and willingness to utilize organic pesticides, with notable reductions in chemical pesticide usage. This program also highlights the economic potential of processed tobacco products, enhancing local income opportunities. As an outcome, Ngusikan Village serves as a model for sustainable agriculture by leveraging local resources for eco-friendly pest control.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pupuk anorganik, pupuk organik cair, dan pupuk hayati terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Universitas KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah, Jombang, pada bulan Juni s/d Agustus 2025 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah pupuk anorganik dengan tiga taraf yaitu: A0 = tanpa pupuk, A1 = dosis 50%, A2 = dosis 100%. Faktor kedua adalah pupuk organik dan hayati dengan tiga taraf yaitu O0 = tanpa pupuk, O1 = pupuk hayati, O2 = pupuk organik cair. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, luas daun, laju pertumbuhan tanaman, laju asimilasi bersih, bobot segar, dan bobot kering tanaman. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji F pada taraf 5% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi nyata antara pupuk anorganik dengan pupuk organik dan pupuk hayati terhadap semua parameter pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Pupuk anorganik dosis 50% dan 100% nyata meningkatkan luas daun pada 21 hst, laju pertumbuhan pada 21–28 hst, serta bobot segar dan bobot kering tanaman dibandingkan tanpa pupuk anorganik. Pupuk hayati berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman pada 28 hst, sedangkan pupuk organik cair berpengaruh nyata terhadap laju pertumbuhan pada 14–21 hst serta memberikan hasil tertinggi pada bobot segar 18,19 g dan bobot kering 2,47 g.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIndonesia, which has a large population, relies on rice as the main staple food. In recent years, there has been a growing trend of food alternatives as a government strategy in local food diversification. Taro analog rice has emerged as a food innovation to replace rice. Taro analog rice is one of the solutions to expand food choices and support dietary diversity. This product has high nutritional value and can be produced more efficiently under certain conditions. This article aims to assess the market potential of taro analog rice in Indonesia, by looking at the opportunities and challenges that exist amidst the growing trend of alternative food. This research employs a qualitative methodology with descriptive techniques to examine the market prospects for taro analog rice in Indonesia, framed against the backdrop of alternative food trends. Data pertinent to this investigation was collected through a systematic review of the literature.  Analog rice is a food product designed to resemble conventional rice, both in terms of form and nutritional composition. In this case, taro was chosen as the main raw material as it has good nutritional characteristics, including a lower glycemic index compared to white rice. The Promising Role of Taro as a Substitute for Traditional Rice in the Domestic Market and in the international scale market, the demand for analog rice is increasing. However, the challenge remains in market education and distribution. Collaboration between producers, government, and research institutions is needed to develop efficient processing technologies and strengthen distribution networks. This study concludes that taro analog rice can be a leading product in the Indonesian and international markets, providing benefits to individual health and the local economy. Keywords: Alternative Food Trends, Analog Taro Rice, Market Potential  ABSTRAKNegara Indonesia yang memiliki populasi besar, bergantung pada nasi sebagai makanan pokok utama. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir ini semakin berkembangnya trend alternatif pangan sebagai strategi pemerintah dalam diversifikasi pangan lokal. Beras analog talas muncul sebagai inovasi pangan pengganti beras. beras analog talas sebagai salah satu solusi untuk memperluas pilihan pangan dan mendukung keberagaman diet Masyarakat. produk ini memiliki nilai gizi yang tinggi dan dapat diproduksi dengan lebih efisien dalam kondisi tertentu. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi pasar beras analog talas di Indonesia, dengan melihat peluang dan tantangan yang ada di Tengah trend pangan alternatif yang semakin berkembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan teknik deskriptif untuk memeriksa prospek pasar beras analog talas di Indonesia, dibingkai dengan latar belakang tren makanan alternatif. Data yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tinjauan sistematis literatur. Beras analog adalah produk pangan yang dirancang untuk menyerupai beras konvensional, baik dari segi bentuk dan komposisi gizi. Dalam hal ini, talas dipilih sebagai bahan baku utama karena memiliki karakteristik gizi yang baik, termasuk indeks glikemik yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nasi putih. Peran Talas yang Menjanjikan sebagai Pengganti Beras Tradisional di Pasar Domestik dan dalam pasar skala internasional, permintaan beras analog semakin tinggi. Namun, tantangannya masih ada pada edukasi pasar dan distribusi. Kolaborasi antara produsen, pemerintah, dan lembaga penelitian diperlukan untuk mengembangkan teknologi pengolahan yang efisien dan memperkuat jaringan distribusi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Beras analog talas dapat menjadi produk unggulan di pasar Indonesia dan internasional, memberikan manfaat bagi kesehatan individu dan ekonomi lokal.Kata Kunci: Tren Pangan Alternatif, Beras Analog Talas, Potensi Pasar

Abstract

The use of wheat flour continues to dominate the Indonesian food industry despite growing dependency on imports. To reduce this reliance, mocaf (Modified Cassava Flour) offers a promising local alternative with similar characteristics to wheat flour. This study investigates the effect of adding celery (Apium graveolens L.) to the organoleptic properties of mocaf-based wonton filling, including aspects of color, aroma, taste, and texture. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments: P (2 g celery), Q (4 g celery), and R (6 g celery) per 500 g dough. A descriptive qualitative method and ANOVA followed by LSD (Least Significant Difference) test were used for data analysis. Results showed that treatment R (6 g celery) yielded the most favorable sensory outcomes with color 4.60, aroma 5.12, taste 4.89, and texture 4.65. The addition of 6 g celery provided a distinctive green color, strong aroma, pleasant taste, and soft texture without mushiness, significantly improving the organoleptic properties (p<0.05).

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to increase youth knowledge about sex education and drugs and to innovate in handling and eradicating drug abuse in the Sumbersari village environment. Sumbersari village itself is quite minimal in knowledge about sex education and drugs in adolescents. Even though Sumbersari village is a village that has a thick religious culture. However, they consider sex education and drugs to be negative things. Research is an activity process of seeking and finding answers that are used to solve a problem. Judging from the data obtained and making direct observations. The research method used is Community Based Research (CBR). Implementation of community service activities in the Community Partnership Program (PKM) scheme. The implementation of the program carried out in this service is an extension and assistance program for the community, especially among adolescents in preventing drug abuse and the importance of sex education. This program is a form of implementation in the form of dedication. This program is also implemented as a program that is needed by the Sumbersari village community. Community service activities have been successfully carried out and running smoothly. The success of the activity can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants and the evaluation results of the activities which are considered good or even very good for several aspects. Hopefully, this seminar on sex education and drugs will increase the reduction of juvenile delinquency from other aspects, such as smoking habits in early childhood, rampant promiscuity in adolescents, and adolescent dependence on certain drugs.
