Abstract

Background: The research in Jogoyudan Village, Lumajang District, identifies a significant gap in community income, land utilization, and entrepreneurial skill development, which is addressed through a community empowerment program focusing on vanilla cultivation training. The primary research gap highlighted is the low community income, underutilized yard spaces, and inadequate training and workshops to improve entrepreneurship skills among residents. These challenges are critical in a community where agriculture is dominant but lacks diversification and modern cultivation techniques. Contribution: This community service aims to improve knowledge of cultivating vanilla and making drip irrigation. Through this activity, it is hoped that the community will get additional income from the vanilla cultivation business. Method: This study includes pre-training, training, and post-training. The training employs socialization regarding vanilla cultivation techniques and drip irrigation. The next step is the direct practice of planting and pollinating vanilla as well as the practice of assembling drip irrigation. In this activity, 25 people were selected as training participants. Results: This service program shows increased knowledge of vanilla cultivation and drip irrigation by 38%. Conclusion: The training participants can independently cultivate vanilla and create drip irrigation in the yard. This activity received an excellent response from the training participants regarding facilitators, facilities, presenters, and. Participants were very enthusiastic and enthusiastic about cultivating vanilla in their yards

Abstract

Organic red rice has higher nutritional value compared to white rice and is increasingly favored as public awareness of healthy lifestyles grows. Kalianget Village in Situbondo is one of the regions producing organic red rice, managed by the Setia Budi Farmer Group. However, the marketing of these products is still limited due to a lack of innovation insufficient branding skills, and e-commerce utilization. This community service activity aims to provide training and assistance in revitalizing derivative products of organic red rice, namely cereal and cookies made from rice bran, while also enhancing the group's capabilities in branding and digital marketing. The program involved 20 members of the farmer group, 3 lecturers, and 4 students from the University of Jember. The stages of the activity included socialization, product-making training, branding and marketing training, packaging design assistance, and e-commerce implementation. The results showed an improvement in participants' skills in product diversification and digital marketing strategies. This training has generated promising business prospects for the group and is expected to enhance the competitiveness of their products in broader markets.

Abstract

Sungai Bedadung merupakan salah satu sungai terbesar yang terletak di Kabupaten Jember, mengalir melalui wilayah Kecamatan Balung hingga Kecamatan Wuluhan. Sepanjang aliran sungai ini, masyarakat memanfaatkan tata guna lahan seperti pemukiman, sawah, kebun, dan pabrik semen untuk berbagai kebutuhan. Aktivitas masyarakat di sekitar sungai menghasilkan limbah yang berpotensi menurunkan kualitas air Sungai Bedadung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jarak sumber pencemar terhadap kualitas air sungai dengan memetakan jarak kedekatan tata guna lahan terhadap titik lokasi penelitian menggunakan metode Euclidean Distance. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Euclidean Distance yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan visualisasi peta jarak dalam format raster, yang menunjukkan kedekatan sumber pencemar dengan sungai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemukiman menjadi sumber pencemar utama dengan 10 titik lokasi berdekatan, diikuti sawah (7 titik), kebun (6 titik), dan pabrik semen (2 titik). Warna merah pada peta mengindikasikan jarak dekat dengan dampak pencemaran tinggi, sedangkan warna hijau menunjukkan jarak yang lebih jauh dengan pengaruh pencemaran yang lebih rendah

Abstract

Irrigation plays an important factor in supporting agricultural land productivity to improve agricultural production. This is achieved by maintaining a sustainable irrigation system through an effective and efficient irrigation system. One method to asses is by using the Irrigation System Performance Index (IKSI). This study designs an information system for IKSI in the main network system. The assessment of IKSI follows PERMEN PU NO.32/2007, with parameters such as physical infrastructure assessment, crop productivity, supporting facilities, personnel organization, documentation, and P3A. The purpose of this system is to determine the operation and maintenance (O&M) strategies and non-physical management strategies. The Main Network SIG IKSI design includes functionalities such as (i) a data folder system, (ii) an imaging system, (iii) GIS, and (iv) an evaluator of physical and non physical irrigation systems. The results of the program in the Antirogo irrigation area show an IKSI the main network value for physical infrastructure of 85,0% and non physical strategies (crop productivity, supporting facilities, personnel organization, documentation, and P3A) of 70,0% until 80,0%. The results shows that the physical infrastructure needs to be carried out regularly and non-physical strategies need to be maintained and improved. Keywords: Association of Farmer Water Users, Geographic Information System, Irrigation System Performance Index, Irrigation, PAKSI.

Abstract

Abstrak.Pengeringan merupakan salahsatuproses pasca panen yang umum dilakukan pada berbagai produk pertanian yang ditujukan untuk menurunkan kadar air sampai pada tingkat yang amanuntukpenyimpananatauproseslainnya. Perlu alternatif pengeringan dengan sinar matahari langsung untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil pengeringan. Penelitian ini menguji proses pengeringan kacang hijau menggunakan mesin Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pengeringan biji kacang hijau dan kinerja mesin. Mesin MSSD memiliki 16 rak, 6 buah lampu pijar, 3 buah blower, 12 sensor DHT 22, aktuator, mikrokontroler Arduino dan 6 kipas exhaust dan dimensi panjang 150 cm, lebar 60 cm dan tinggi 120 cm. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu 6.400g kacang hijau yang masih segar dengan kadar air awal sebesar 23,60 %. Setelah proses pengeringan selama 21 jam, kadar air akhir yang diperoleh sebesar 10,50 %, dan suhu pengeringan yang dihasilkan pada proses pengeringan berkisar antara 25-40C. Untuk Laju pengeringan konstan terjadi setelah pengeringan berlangsung selama 11 jam kemudian menurunkan kadar air dalam jumlah yang besar. Namun daya perkecambahan yang diperoleh sebesar 59 %.Performance Test Of Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (Mssd) On Green Beans (Vigna radiata)Abstract.Drying is one of the post-harvest processes commonly carried out on various agricultural products which is aimed at reducing the water content to a level that is safe for storage or other processes. An alternative to drying in direct sunlight is needed to improve the quality of the drying results. This research tested the process of drying green beans using a machine Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). The aim of this research is to analyze the drying of green bean seeds and machine performance. MSSD machines have 16 shelves, 6 incandescent lamps, 3 blower, 12 DHT 22 sensors, actuators, Arduino microcontroller and 6 fans exhaust and dimensions 150 cm long, 60 cm wide and 120 cm high. The ingredients used were 6,400g of fresh green beans with an initial water content of 23.60%. After the drying process for 21 hours, the final water content obtained was 10.50%, and the drying temperature produced during the drying process ranged from 25-40C. The constant drying rate occurs after drying lasts for 11 hours and then reduces the water content by a large amount. However, the germination capacity obtained was 59%.

Abstract

Chocolate is a cocoa derivative product that is liked by various age groups, from children, teenagers, adults to the elderly because it has a distinctive taste and is considered capable of improving a person's mood due to the content of alkaloids and proteins such as tryptophan. Coated biscuits are biscuit products that are dipped or coated with chocolate, giving the product a richer taste. This educational program was carried out by introducing how to make chocolate-coated biscuits for children in Jember. The objectives of implementing this service are: (1) developing children's creativity, (2) training in making chocolate-coated biscuits and (3) developing children to like the activity of processing plantation products. This program will provide broader knowledge and skills so that children have higher self-confidence. Education on making chocolate-coated biscuits for children provides an interesting experience in the field of food product processing and can stimulate children's motoric development.
