Abstract

Introduction Hyperemesis gravidarum is a condition of an excessive nausea and vomiting. It is one of the complications of pregnancy that affects the health status of the mother and fetal growth and development. Nausea and vomiting are the most common disorders encountered in early pregnancy which are classified into three levels; namely level I (mild), level II (moderate), level III (severe). World Health Organization (WHO) on 2015, reported that cases of pregnant women experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum increased by 30.1%, the incidence occurred in Sweden 0.3%, California 0.55%, in Canada 0.8%, in China 10.8%, in Norway 0.9%, in Pakistan 2.2% and in Turkey 1.9% (Nurhidayanti, Sitti Saleha, Zelna Yuni Andriyani 2023). Method this study aims to carry out Antenatal Care Management for mothers with Hyperemesis Gravidarum Level I at the Bara-Barayya Primary Health Center Makassar. The case study conducted on Mrs. “K” was in accordance with the needs of the client and the authority of the midwife by carrying out 7-steps of Varney midwifery care management and documentation in the form of SOAP. Result The results of this study indicated that Mrs. “K” with Hyperemesis Gravidarum Level I expressed complaints of excessive nausea and vomiting and decreased appetite accompanied by dizziness and heartburn to interfere with her activities. Conclusion After making 6 home visits, Mrs. “K” was no longer experiencing nausea and vomiting, her appetite returned to normal, the general condition was good, the level of consciousness was composmentis, vital signs were within normal limits and on physical examination no abnormalities were found.

Abstract

Introduction The high number of maternal deaths during pregnancy or within 42 days after pregnancy termination, regardless of the duration and place of delivery, is caused by pregnancy or its management, leading to maternal mortality (MMR). In 2020, a total of 133 maternal deaths were reported, equivalent to 85.95 per 100,000 live births. These included 29 cases (22%) of maternal deaths during pregnancy, 36 cases (23%) during childbirth, and 77 cases (55%) during the postpartum period (Dinas Kesehatan, 2021). Method This study uses a case study approach, focusing on the Management of Continuous Postpartum Midwifery Care for Mrs. “S” at RSIA Sitti Khadijah 1 on March 31, 2024, in accordance with the midwife’s authority and needs, following the 7-step Varney management method and the SOAP approach. Results The case study involved an assessment through anamnesis and monitoring conducted four times within 42 days, followed by an additional visit after 42 days. During the midwifery care, early mobilization, uterine fundus massage, health education, breast care, breastfeeding techniques, on-demand breastfeeding, newborn care, and family planning counseling were provided. Conclusion The case study on Mrs. “S” with an episiotomy wound showed significant improvements. Postpartum monitoring at RSIA Sitti Khadijah 1 from March 31, 2024, to May 25, 2024, indicated that the postpartum mother had recovered from perineal sutures pain, experienced milk production, maintained normal vital signs, and showed no abnormalities during physical examinations

Abstract

Introduction Normal childbirth is the process of delivering the fetus that occurs during pregnancy. The labor process is a complex stage as it involves saving two lives. A full-term pregnancy is defined as a gestational age of 37–42 weeks, with spontaneous delivery in a cephalic (head-first) presentation lasting approximately 18 hours, without any complications for either the mother or the baby. The purpose of this study is to provide physiological intranatal midwifery care to Mrs. “S”, GIII PII A0. Method used in this study is a case study approach following the 7 steps of Varney. Results of the case study on Mrs. “S”, a 31-year-old woman, showed that the normal labor care proceeded without any problems, indicating that the management provided was in accordance with normal delivery procedures during stages I–IV. The baby was born spontaneously/normally in good condition, and the mother's general condition was also good, with no complications during labor or postpartum. Conclusion, the care provided went smoothly and effectively, with no identified gaps. The midwife played a role in providing care in accordance with her competencies and authority.

Abstract

Dalam proses persalinan kala II pengaturan posisi ikut berperan dalam membantu memperpendek lama persalinan dan meminimalkan komplikasi yang terjadi pada ibu dan janin. Posis Mc Robert yaitu posisi setengah duduk dengan hiperfleksi maksimal pada panggul dengan melibatkan fleksi maksimal kaki ibu sampai menyentuh abdomen. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh posisi persalinan Mc.Robert terhadap lama persalinan kala II pada ibu primipara di Puskesmas Batauga Kab.Buton Selatan Kota Baubau. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh ibu yang bersalin di Puskesmas Batauga pada bulan Januari-Mei 2019. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 resonden yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji Chi Square didaptkan nilai ρ = 0,023 ini berarti ρ < α (0,05) atau H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berarti ada pengaruh posisi persalinan Mc.Robert terhadap lama persalin kala II pada ibu primipara. Salah satu faktor penting yang dapat mempengaruhi proses persalinan lebih cepat adalah dengan memilih posisi persalinan yang tepat. Untuk itu diharapakan ibu dapat termotivasi dalam memilih posisi persalinan senyaman mungkin yaitu dengan memilih posisi yang berpengaruh atau paling efektif sehingga dapat mempercepat proses persalinan kala II seperti posisi persalinan Mc.Robert.
