Abstract

The traditional fishermen spent more time at sea than land, thus requiring fishermen to lived on boats for many days. Therefore, it is necessary to study the clean and healthy behavior (PHBS) of traditional fishermen while at workplace, namely boats. This article used quantitative method with cross sectional design. A description of fishermen's PHBS was obtained by using interviews and observation of 15 fishermen. PHBS assessment of fishermen refers to Regulation of Kementerian Kesehatan Republic Indonesia 2269/MENKES/PER/XI/2011, about guidelines PHBS in workplace. It was founded that were PHBS practices in the workplace not carried out by traditional fishermen, that were using healthy toilets, smoking in the workplace, and eradicating mosquito larvae. The results of chi-square analysis between fishermen's characteristics for PHBS practices, it was founded that there was no effect of characteristics (age, status and boat ownership, education, and income) to PHBS practices of fishermen in Dungkek District (p=0,426, p=0,476, p=0,560, p=0,930)

Abstract

Background: Pregnant women who drink herbal medicine can increase the risk of meconium amniotic fluid, and meconium amniotic fluid is a risk factor for asphyxia in newborns. Objectives: Identify three forms of culture in drinking herbal medicine in pregnant women, namely the mother's values and ideas about drinking herbal medicine, herbal drinking activities, and material on the culture of drinking herbal medicine. Methods: This research is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Informants in this study consisted of pregnant women and key informants consisted of families of pregnant women, cadres, ustadzah, midwives, and herbal medicine providers. Results: The cultural forms of drinking herbal medicine include: 1) Values and Ideas. Drinking herbal medicine for pregnant women is still practiced because of their subjective norms and normative beliefs from the surrounding environment. All informants believed that herbal medicine could provide benefits rather than negative effects, and only midwives stated that herbal medicine had negative effects, namely meconium amniotic fluid, and even asphyxia. 2) The activity of drinking herbal medicine. Pregnant women drink herbal medicine from the beginning of pregnancy until delivery. The frequency of taking herbal medicine was various. Religious figures and community leaders have an important role in the culture of drinking herbal medicine. 3) Herbal ingredients. The herbs consumed by each informant were different, there were informants who consumed homemade herbs and bought them at the market. Conclusions: The culture of drinking herbal medicine is still carried out because the local community's belief about the benefits of herbal medicine is still high, and lack of public knowledge about the effects of drinking herbal medicine on pregnant women.

Abstract

Kesehatan adalah salah satu hak yang melekat dan harus dipenuhi pada setiap individu. Di Kabupaten Sampang, khususnya di Desa Pekalongan, Kelurahan Polagan, dan Desa Gulbung terdapat ketimpangan dalam akses terhadap layanan kesehatan di mana hal itu tercermin dari rendahnya angka harapan hidup. Untuk mengatasi persoalan ini, diadakan kegiatan pemeriksaan kesehatan gratis yang merupakan hasil kerja sama antara Karang Taruna Kabupaten sampang, Dinas Kesehatan dan Keluarga Berencana, STIKES Sukma Wijaya, Rumah Sakit Sukma Wijaya, Peduli Kasih, serta FKMSB. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan secara rutin serta memperluas jangkauan layanan kesehatan dasar. Bentuk layanan yang diberikan mencakup pemeriksaan mata, tekanan darah, gula darah, konsultasi hasil hingga pemberian obat, yang diselenggarakan secara bergiliran di tiga lokasi berbeda. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan, sebagian besar peserta berusia di atas 45 tahun dengan keluhan umum berupa batuk, nyeri tubuh, dan hipertensi. Kolabortasi lintas lembaga ini terbukti mampu menjangkau masyarakat secara efektif dan menjadi wujud nyata peran aktif institusi pendidikan serta sosial dalam meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat.
