Abstract

This research aims to classify the kinds of errors found in the student's writing descriptive text; recognize the most common errors found, and describe the factors that cause the students to make errors. The method used was qualitative research. The subject of this research is the 20 writing descriptive text of the students in class X. The data collection technique used documents and interviews. The instruments of data collection were the students’ worksheets and interview guidelines. The finding showed, there were four types of errors found in the students' writing products. They were classified as 20.8% errors of omission, 4% errors of addition, 73,2% errors of misinformation, and 2% errors of misordering. Based on these findings, the researchers suggest that: learning English should emphasize linguistic aspects such as the use of tenses. Besides, students should be assisted in translating assignments and teachers should provide feedback on student work. Keywords: error analysis, descriptive text, writing

Abstract

The Cirebon Mask Dance (Tari Topeng Cirebon) is a traditional Indonesian art form with deep historical and philosophical values. This study examines how Instagram is utilized as a communication tool to build a positive public image of the dance, focusing on the account @sanggar_senisetiyanegara. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through interviews, documentation, and literature review. Data were validated using source triangulation and analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Guided by the strategic communication framework developed by Halland, Holtzhausen, Van Ruler, Vercic, and Sriramesh (2007), this study identifies three key dimensions of communication strategy: message planning, media selection, and delivery technique. The findings show that Instagram features such as Reels, Stories, and Carousel Posts are effective in fostering engagement and cultural appreciation. However, challenges persist in the form of inconsistent content production, low digital literacy among art practitioners, and limited audience reach. To address these issues, the study highlights the use of educational storytelling, audience interaction, and collaboration with cultural communities as crucial strategic responses. Overall, this research underscores the importance of culturally sensitive and visually compelling communication in promoting traditional arts in the digital era.

Abstract

Background: Trauma resulting from traffic accidents often leads to significant psychological impacts, such as excessive fear, insecurity, nightmares, and avoidance behaviors towards situations that remind the victim of the incident. Purpose: This study aims to explore the profound experiences of victims of single-vehicle accidents in understanding the trauma they have experienced and the psychological recovery process they undergo. Method: This research employs a qualitative phenomenological approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, which are then analyzed using phenomenological stages. Results: Participants went through complex emotional phases, starting with shock and extreme fear, which then developed into anxiety and avoidance of situations related to the accident. Their psychological recovery process was gradual, involving family support, self-reflection, acceptance, and the search for deeper meaning in life. Conclusion: The search for meaning and social support plays a crucial role in the psychological recovery of accident victims, showing that post-traumatic growth can occur. Contribution: This study serves as a foundation for developing more empathetic trauma counseling practices, based on validating experiences and reconstructing meaning to aid victims in their recovery.
