Abstract

Background: Molecular markers (DNA markers) are DNA sequences that are easily detected to characterize or detect certain genetic diversity, one of which is in animals. There are various marker systems used with their respective characteristics. Some of the molecular markers include RFLP, RAPD, ISSR, SSR, and SNP. The purpose of this study was to analyze genetic diversity in animals using molecular marker applications. Methods: The method used is literature review using reputable national and international journals. Results: Based on the results of a literature review, the genetic diversity of various species such as catfish, deer, tilapia, crabs, seahorses, ducks, cattle and buffaloes can be analyzed for genetic diversity using various molecular markers either by using PCR-RFLP, RAPD, ISSR, SSR, or SNPs.Conclusion: The application of molecular markers can be used to analyze animal genetic diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suitability of HOTS (Higher-order Thinking Skills) based on critical thinking on the Odd Semester Final Examination questions for high school biology lessons in the East Cirebon Region. The research subjects were schools in the Cirebon area, namely SMAN 1 Lemahabang, MAN 3 Buntet Pesantren Cirebon and MA NU Putri Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. Data analysis is presented in the form of percentages and then described based on critical thinking indicators (characteristic thinking) based on Facione, (2011) on the Biology Final Semester Exam (UAS). The odd semester final exam (UAS) for biology subjects already contains critical thinking skills, but the percentage is still low. The most dominating indicator is interpretation. Based on this research, it shows that the questions made by the teacher are not sufficient to cultivate students' critical thinking skillsABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian HOTS (Higher-order Thinking Skills) berdasarkan critical thinking pada soal Ujian Akhir Semester ganjil pelajaran biologi SMA se-Wilayah Cirebon Timur.

Abstract

Abstract

Using local potential as teaching materials is an effort to meet the learning outcomes of class X biology subjects. This research aims to develop a STEAM-based Belawa Tortoise conservation e-supplement to improve higher-order thinking skills in high school ecosystem materials. This research is a Research and Development research using the ADDIE model The ADDIE development model is composed of the analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation stages, but is limited to the implementation stage, namely small-scale tests. The small-scale test was conducted on 10 students of grade XI MAN 3 Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. The results showed that STEAM-based Belawa Tortoise conservation e-supplements have characteristics that there are local wisdom offerings with conservation content, virtual tours equipped with representative pictures and videos, STEAM-based student activities. E-supplements are valid and feasible to use based on the assessment of material experts and media experts with small-scale test results having an average of 94.6 with excellent criteria and unrevised qualifications. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the STEAM-based Belawa Tortoise conservation e-supplement is declared feasible, potentially to improve the higher-order thinking skills of high school learners.
