Abstract

The capital market plays a crucial role in a country's economy, enabling companies to raise funds through the sale of securities, with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) overseeing the trading of these securities to ensure transparency and protect investors. One of IDX's surveillance mechanisms is Unusual Market Activity (UMA), which identifies unusual stock price movements that may not necessarily violate regulations. This study highlights the function of UMA in maintaining market order, analyzing its impact on abnormal returns, and evaluating the effectiveness of UMA policies in creating a transparent, fair, and efficient market in Indonesia. The research investigates the influence of UMA announcements on stock trading activity and abnormal returns for companies listed on the IDX from January 2021 to December 2023. The data includes daily stock prices and transactions from IDX, KPEI, and KSEI, focusing on the observation period from H-5 to H+5 around UMA announcements. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select stocks on the UMA list during the study period. Using an event study methodology, the analysis includes descriptive statistics, normality tests, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Tests to measure changes in Trading Volume Activity (TVA) and abnormal returns before and after UMA announcements. The results reveal that after UMA announcements, the average abnormal return decreased from -0.112 to -0.253, and TVA declined from 0.0278 to 0.0184. The Wilcoxon test confirmed significant differences in AR and TVA before and after UMA, indicating that UMA impacts the market through declines in stock prices and trading activity.

This study analyzes the implementation of governance by SCF to find out and evaluate the extent to which the SCF companies are prepared to support a sustainable SCF industry, and the readiness to adequate infrastructure, including the Technical Guidelines for the Implementation of AML-CFT. Based on the survey results from 10 aspects of corporate governance, not all SCF implement good corporate governance. Abstract

With a very significant increase in the number of capital market investors, an information system is needed that supports investors to invest more easily and transparently. To facilitate this, the Financial Services Authority ("OJK") in 2020 issued Financial Services Authority Regulation number 41/POJK.04/2020 ("POJK 41"). The pricing, ordering and allotment of securities are carried out through an information system called Electronic Indonesia Public Offering ("E-IPO System"). The E-IPO system aims to provide access to all investors in the Public Offering and booking pricing process so as to increase the participation of all investors. In addition, the use of the E-IPO System is expected to increase transparency and efficiency in the IPO process in order to increase investor confidence in the pre-determined price. As a result of this research, the E-IPO System can be categorized as a good system and has a good net benefit for its users, this is reflected in the condition of information quality, system quality and service quality that affect the use and the satisfaction of E-IPO System users. This will directly or indirectly affect the net profit that will be received by users. Abstract

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic will have an impact on the funding strategies of companies in the health sector, as fluctuations in income will play a significant role in determining their ability to finance various activities. This phenomenon will manifest itself in the context of capital structure policy determinations.Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the capital structure behavior of healthcare companies in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: Utilizing the data from fourteen companies that were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period of 2017–2022, a panel data regression based on the Generalized Least Squares (GLS) approach was used to analyze the impact of COVID-19 and other factors on the capital structure decision. Furthermore, the partial adjustment model with the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimator was employed to measure the speed of adjustment toward target leverage. Findings/Result: We found COVID-19 had a significant impact on capital structure. Other factors that influenced the capital structure were the return on equity, current ratio, and growth. Finally, the healthcare companies in Indonesia readjusted their capital structure toward target leverage at a rapid rate. Managers of companies in the health sector can arrange considerations according to the order of funding sources, using internal funding sources first in the form of retained earnings, then debt, and if necessary, issuing equity. Conclusion: During a crisis, the effects experienced by different sectors exhibit variations. Consequently, conducting sector analysis research during a crisis becomes crucial in order to ascertain the precise impact of specific crises on particular sectors.Originality/value (State of the art): This research contributes to the existing literature on capital structure decision and speed of adjustment by adding the COVID-19 crisis dimension, especially when the industry play the important rule. Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the factors that have influenced the performance of Indonesian companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange's LQ45 stock index during the COVID-19 pandemic, spanning the period from 2017 to 2022. The study is divided into two main periods: the period preceding the pandemic (2017-2019) and the period following the pandemic (2020-2022). The coefficient of determination (R²) is employed to ascertain the extent to which independent variables, including liquidity, leverage, profitability, activity, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, company size, and company age, can explain variations in the dependent variable, namely company performance. The results demonstrate that leverage has a significant negative impact on company performance, whereas managerial ownership does not affect both groups. Conversely, institutional ownership exerts a positive and significant influence on firm performance. This study offers insights into the factors that can be regulated or monitored to maintain the company's stability and growth. Additionally, it enhances knowledge of firms' ability to survive in challenging economic conditions and provides implications for regulators and investors.
