Abstract

Breast cancer is a malignancy in breast cells that grow out of control with a variety of mechanisms and risk factors. Breast cancer can be started from the ducts or lobular breasts. Breast cancer has a high incidence and high mortality in the Asian region due to various things, especially the process of early detection and therapy. Prevention stage is preferred over surgical or chemotherapy therapy. The condition of breast cancer patients must have a strong and tough immune system to supply cancer cells so that the need for proper nutrition is very much needed. Soybeans are rich in isoflavones known as antioxidants, antibacterial and most recently have anticancer potential. Genistein isoflavones in soybeans will be more active after the fermentation process and show the potential of cancer cell inhibitors by changing the phase of carcinogenesis with hormone receptor pathways and Nf-Kb-Akt signaling. Genistein is also proven as an inhibitor of angiogenesis in cancer cells. Further clinical trials need to be carried out on safety and the right dosage to be applied as immunonutrition in breast cancer patients.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a malignancy in breast cells in the ducts or lobes due to mutations in gene level. Gene mutations, especially BRCA1 and BRCA2, are the dominant genes in breast cancer that activate carcinogenesis that causes immune defects. Decreased immunity must be improved and supported one of them using special nutrition improvements that have supportive therapy in breast cancer. Curcumin has potential as a nutrient that increases immunity and has an apotosis effect, suppresses metastases, regulates microRNA and stops the angiogenesis process promoted by VEGF in cancer cells. Curcumin is a natural ingredient obtained from Curcuma longa alias turmeric which has been used widely as a spice in the Asian region. The potential anticancer and antioxidant available in curcumin should be given at a minimum dose of 3.6gram and absorbed by the intestine only 1% but it is easily deposited in the brain, liver and lungs. The use of nano and injection routes are expected to increase the bioavability of curcumin.

Abstract

Diare adalah keluarnya feses lunak-berair dan frekuensi lebih dari tiga kali dalam periode 24 jam. Konsistensi feses, frekuensi dan tanda vital menjadi tolak ukur keadaan pasien pada kasus diare pada anak. Diare akut pada anak biasanya disebabkan oleh Rotavirus, bakteri non-salmonella dan parasit. Tatalaksana diare akut pada anak yaitu mencegah dehidrasi dan menseimbangkan elektrolit tubuh dengan pemberian terapi cairan serta oralit. Pemberian antibiotik dan antidiare disesuaikan kondisi pasien. Selain terapi cairan dan obat-obatan maka terapi berupa diet makanan mengandung isoflavon dapat menjadi terapi tambahan dalam kasus diare akut pada anak. Isoflavon merupakan senyawa dengan antioksidan dan antimikroba yang banyak terdapat pada kedelai. Isoflavon menurunkan adhesi bakteri, mencegah agregasi bakteri, menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri patogen dan meningkatkan mikroflora di usus. Beberapa penelitian bahkan isoflavon dapat memperbaiki kondisi brush border pada usus. Sehingga isoflavonkedelai dapat bermanfaat sebagai terapi tambahan.Kata kunci: Antimikroba, Diare Akut, Isoflavon, Kedelai
