Abstract

Terdapat konsistensi yang sama antara penelitian Driscoll dengan studi kasus yang dilakukan di mahasiswa tingkat pertama semester awal, yaitu untuk tahap keakuratan dari tahap berpikir geometri Van Hiele tidak dipahami oleh mahasiswa.ABSTRACTThe goal of mathematic in school is helping students to be able to solve problems, to do reasoning, and to communicate mathematics, as well as to behave a positive attitude towards mathematics. The purpose of this case study is to determine what percentage of first year students of Mathematics Faculty of Teacher Education Program that have already understood deductive reasoning to understand the stages of the Van Hiele geometry. In addition to knowing whether the deductive phase of the Van Hiele geometry has been understood by first year students of Mathematics Faculty of Teacher Education Program UNPAS. The case study method was descriptive. Subject of study was the first semester students of Mathematics Education Study Program Guidance and Counseling of UNPAS Bandung, academic year 2012/2013. There were 40 students who involoved in this research. The results showed that the freshman first semester in Mathematics Education Study Program Guidance and Counseling Unpas not understand the stages of deductive reasoning geometry Van Hiele. It is shown from the answer to the instrument that must be proven deductively, which has not been answered correctly by most students. There is a similar consistency between studies Driscoll with a case study conducted at the beginning of the semester freshman, namely from stage to stage the accuracy of the Van Hiele geometry thinking is not understood by the students.

Abstract

Mathematical abilities that are the basis of mathematical problem solving skills, mathematical communication skills, mathematical reasoning abilities, mathematical connection abilities, mathematical representation abilities. This study aims to describe the mathematical ability of junior high school students in terms of the extrovert-introvert personality type. The results of the study will be used as the main library material in the implementation of the next research. This study specifically discusses Carl Gustav Jung's personality type which distinguishes two personality types, namely introverted and extroverted personalities. The type of research used in this study is a literature study research method. The data sources in this study are literature or come from various literatures, including books, journals, newspapers, personal documents and so on. Sources of data used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques used are Editing, Organizing, and Finding. For data analysis using deductive, inductive, and interpretative. The results of this literature study show: junior high school students with introverted personality types have good mathematical abilities compared to students with extroverted personality types.

Abstract

Mathematics demands a variety of abilities, including understanding mathematical concepts. However, reality shows that students have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts. This research aims to determine the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts with the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon compared to ordinary learning models and determine the level of effectiveness. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and nonequivalent control group design was used in the research, with data collected through a written test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The research subjects were class XI students at SMA Pasundan 1 Bandung. The results of research data analysis show that students who studied with the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon experienced a higher increase in understanding of mathematical concepts than students who studied with the regular learning model. The effectiveness of the increase is relatively large with this learning model. In conclusion, the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon is very effective in improving the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model assisted by Powtoon can be used as an alternative to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts.

Abstract

During the current pandemic, people are looking for activities that can fill their spare time, one of which is the cultivation of ornamental plants. In addition to channeling hobbies, ornamental plant cultivation can increase people's income by marketing products to the market. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and skills in the cultivation of Sirih Gading (Epipremnum aureum) ornamental plants vegetatively and by cuttings, to partners and provide information about business prospects and marketing strategies for fruit and ornamental plants in Griya Prima Asri Complex, Kec. Baleendah, Kab. Bandung. The selection of the Sirih Gading (Epipremnum aureum) ornamental plant as the object of service because this plant can grow in Indonesian climatic conditions, easy to care for, easy to observe and measure its growth, such as number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, stem height, and root length. In addition, marketing assistance for ornamental plant products and fruit plants that are developed vegetatively is also carried out. The methods used are socialization, workshops/training, and monitoring. The results of this activity were 90% of the participants stated that the ornamental plant propagation training provided benefits and knowledge to cultivate and develop them into entrepreneurial prospects, in the midst of many people who lost their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic.
