Abstract

Kata kunci: Volumteric Study; Studio; Perancangan Abstract _ In architectural design studios at UIN Alauddin Makassar, it is common to use the method of tracing the concept in  2-dimensional design mode, by using drawing paper media and conceptual sketches. This issue relates to the fact that the 2D design concept using drawing paper media is limited to only representing the idea of shape, colour and texture in the design. One of the weaknesses of this method is the student's limitation to explore forms and inaccurate representation of design concepts so that another course strategy that is more representative of the design process is needed in an architectural design studio. So that students can also record the conceptions of orientation, shading, contours, and layering optimally. This article discusses the empirical experience of applying the volumetric study method within the UIN Alauddin Makassar campus within the framework of a strategy to improve the quality of lectures. The results of a case study in 3rd architectural design studio course for second years students, it was found that most students felt that the volumetric method of this study could help in tracing design concepts. Keywords: Volumetric Study; Studio; Design

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country where one of the primary commodities is the farm sector. Corn is one of Sulawesi's leading food crop commodities, especially South Sulawesi. The region that is one of the best maize producers in South Sulawesi is Takalar Regency. Therefore, this sector must be able to be developed to help the regional economy. The general objective of this discussion is to design a corn culinary center tour in Takalar Regency with a metaphorical architectural approach. The research methods used are literature, precedent, and field studies: site Selection Criteria, Location Allocation, Land Area, Access to the Site, and Utilities. The location chosen for the corn culinary tourism design is in Polongbangkeng Utara District. The results of the field data analysis show that Palleko Village is a strategic Village from the several primary considerations above. The environmental conditions on the site are a strategic area of the Regency as a center for artificial tourism, especially culinary tourism. Therefore, to optimize the tourism potential of culinary centers in Takalar Regency by developing one of the food crop sectors in the form of corn, it is necessary to design a corn culinary tourism center with a metaphorical architectural approach in Takalar Regency, which can be an attractive culinary tourism option for the community and is more organized in offering food processed corn centrally.

Abstract

A person is considered a person with disabilities (PWD) if they experience physical limitations that affect their functions, activities, and social interactions, requiring facilities that improve accessibility. This study aims to apply the concept of behavior architecture to improve accessibility for PWD at the Special Needs School (SLB) in Sinjai by implementing accessibility features such as handrails around the site. In order to make SLB Sinjai more comfortable and accessible for deaf, speech-impaired, and visually impaired children, the design includes a lobby with stainless steel guiding paths, classrooms with ramps with a 6-degree incline covered with vinyl according to standards, and accessible toilets with stainless steel handrails at 65 cm of height.
