Abstract

The threshold Limits for presidential and vice presidential candidates have been a prominent topic since the introduction of direct presidential elections. Initially, the presidential threshold aimed to determine the candidates competing in the presidential election. However, over time, it has become a subject of prolonged debate, as it was perceived to undermine the rights of individuals in government and impede the principle of equality in democracy. This study utilizes qualitative research methods to gauge public sentiment regarding implementing the presidential threshold in Indonesia's presidential election system after the 2019 election. The research collected data through the Nvivo 12 Plus, utilizing sources such as Twitter (with the hashtag #presidentialthreshold) and online news media outlets, including Kompas, Detik, Tempo, Republika, and TribunNews. The study findings indicate that the percentage requirement is the most frequently discussed topic regarding the presidential threshold. Tempo is the online news media outlet that prominently highlights the issue. The analysis reveals that negative sentiment prevails in public opinion, comprising 63% of responses, while positive sentiment constitutes 37%. Tempo primarily represents positive sentiment, while Republika reflects negative sentiment. Positive public sentiment focuses on parliamentary support, while negative sentiment centers around candidates' opportunities.

Abstract

This research explains how the dimensions of critical thinking develop and are consistent in students by learning directly in a project-based contextual manner through small research that they choose. The research method used is descriptive analysis to analyse the dimensions of students' critical thinking abilities using a quasi-experimental design (a one-group post-test only design). Data was collected by involving active, even semester students taking general compulsory courses in Civic Education, totalling forty students with project model learning. Through small research-based learning or the project citizen model, critical thinking skills will be developed at four levels of critical thinking achievements. Four levels of critical thinking were made into fourteen questions. When the questionnaire has passed the validation process stage, which is prepared using a standard critical thinking ability scheme related to environmental awareness, the questionnaire is also adapted to respondents who have received project citizen model learning. The research findings on students' critical thinking ability towards awareness of environmental issues are included in the high category. Thus, this research shows the success of Civic Education courses in realising a sense of civic responsibility and civic awareness. Then, the results of this research give birth to citizens who can touch on environmental issues; this is the basis for the learning objectives of Civic Education, which is to educate citizens to understand their nation and country.

Abstract

The ability of citizens in civic education must have four components of ability, namely civic knowledge, civic skill, civic value and civic action. The four competencies of citizens are the most dominant things to be applied. This ability facilitates students in acting and thinking critically to solve problems in various social situations. That ability requires efficient expertise. In line with the overall competence, competence can also determine problem solving in learning. The implementation of this learning is based on obtaining the four competencies. This can determine the attitude of awareness and critical thinking of citizens in optimizing their abilities. The application of project-citizent-based  learning to lead how a student as a citizen can obtain civic competence through a problem-solving process with the project citizent learning model. The four competencies are civic knowledge, civic skill, civic value and civic action, which are obtained when they explain the problem with their assumptions and reflect on the urgency of the problem that has been studied, civic skill is obtained when they optimize their role in solving problems by comparing various opinions from experts, civic value obtained when solving problems accompanied by solutions as a form of value or result of their studies, and civic actions are obtained when they act according to expectations and reality. Thus, it can be concluded that through learning the citizen project model,  the problem-solving process can move citizens to grow and develop in a society that prioritizes awareness as citizens, thinking skills, values and positive attitudes of citizens (civic competence). This is due to the process and way students investigate the urgency of the problem and identify the problem, formulate the problem and determine the solution through the project citizen model.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar mendorong siswa mengembangkan semangat belajar, memanfaatkan daya intrinsik siswa untuk belajar, dan membimbing aktivitas siswa. Motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran PPKn terkesan menurun, hal ini disebabkan pelajaran PPKn yang mencakupi materi yang luas dan abstrak. Maka, perlu model belajar yang ampuh dalam menstimulus siswa untuk membangun motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learnig terhadap motivasi belajar PPKn siswa SDN Tengah 01 Pagi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif experimen dengan Quasi Eksperimental Design. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistic parametrik (analisis komparatif). Hasil uji hipetesis terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelas yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning dan kelas yang belajar tanpa model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning. Hal ini di peroleh rhitung 0,769 > rtabel 0,05 maka dapat dikatakan varians, Equal varians assumed memiliki nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar rhitung 0,000 < rtabel 0,05, maka Ha diterima dan dapat di katakan motivasi peserta didik berpengaruh signifikan, yang menyatakan bahwa adanya pengaruh yang signifikan menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning terhadap motivasi belajar PPKn siswa sekolah dasar di SDN tengah 01 pagi.

Abstract

The demands of 21st-century education require learning materials that foster critical thinking, creativity and innovation, communication, and collaboration collectively known as the 4Cs. This study aims to examine the extent to which Civic Education (PKn) textbooks used in Indonesian secondary schools align with these essential competencies. Employing a qualitative content analysis approach, the study analyzed three Grade X PKn textbooks published by the Center for Curriculum and Books (Kemendikbud), Erlangga, and Srikandi Empat. The data sources included the textbook content and qualitative feedback from Civic Education teachers and students in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. The analysis focused on identifying the presence and integration of 4C elements across chapters, learning activities, and assessment tasks. Findings reveal that the textbooks published by Kemendikbud and Erlangga demonstrate strong alignment with 21st-century skill requirements, particularly in terms of promoting critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. However, creative and innovative skills were less emphasized. In contrast, the textbook from Srikandi Empat displayed limited integration of the 4Cs, indicating the need for further improvement in aligning its content with contemporary educational demands. This study underscores the importance of continuously evaluating textbook quality to ensure their effectiveness as tools for developing students’ future-ready competencies.

Abstract

Permasalahan penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi mahasiswa dalam memelihara kebugaran jasmani selama pandemi Covid-19, yang dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan dan kesejahteraan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Olahraga dan Kesehatan Universitas Jambi dalam memelihara kebugaran jasmani pada masa pandemi. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan populasi 121 mahasiswa semester 5 tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan probability sampling-simple random sampling, dengan 35 responden yang diambil secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang disebarkan menggunakan Google Form. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi mahasiswa dalam memelihara kebugaran jasmani selama pandemi berada pada kategori tinggi, dengan 57,1% responden (20 dari 35) menunjukkan tingkat motivasi yang tinggi. Kesimpulannya, meskipun tantangan pandemi, mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Olahraga dan Kesehatan Universitas Jambi tetap memiliki motivasi yang kuat untuk menjaga kebugaran jasmani. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah mengeksplorasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung motivasi tersebut dan strategi untuk mempertahankan atau meningkatkan motivasi di masa mendatang.
