Abstract

M. Natsir is one of the community leaders who is considered a multidimensional figure whose personality, abilities and expertise are very limited. History records that his struggle is always dynamic and gives the best for the Indonesian people and the Islamic religion. This study discusses how the context influences the professionalism of Muhammad Natsir's preaching in the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Council. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a library research research design. Data was collected using storage techniques sourced from readings/texts and books. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using content analysis method. The results of the study show that M. Natsir is an influential and professional figure in his field, especially in the field of Islam and da'wah. From the internal context it was found that the influence of the family environment, educational background and understanding of religion was evident from his involvement in various important government positions, as well as various organizations including the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Council. From the external context it was found that M.Natsir's involvement in da'wah work programs to various regions, cadre of qualified preachers through mosques, campuses and Islamic boarding schools, dispatched preachers for even distribution of the reach of da'wah messages. and the fourth; publishing as an effort to provide or entertain what is felt by the Islamic community in the field of literature.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe what are the intra system shift and level shift in subtitle of Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film by Chris Columbus, the causal of intra system shift and level shift in subtitle of Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film by Chris Columbus, and which one is that more dominant between intra and level shift in subtitle of Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film by Chris Columbus. Object in this research is Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film by Chris Columbus. This research employs qualitative research with descriptive method. The object of this research is Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film by Chris Columbus. The data used is subtitle in Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone that contains intra system and level shift. The data is classified based on J.C. Catford theory about translation shift. They contain intra system shift, level shift, and the causal of intra system shift and level shift. The findings of research show about intra system shift. The researcher found all sentence that contained intra system shift, level shift, and causal of intra system shift and level shift that used by characters in Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone, the intra system that was found in subtitle were 12 data, level shift that was found in subtitle were 10 data, and the causal of intra system shift and level shift that was found in subtitle were 7 data. In conclusion, intra system shift was mostly dominant used in sentence by characters in Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone Film.

Abstract

This research discussed the analysis of lexical meaning and contextual meaning on Harris J’s song lyrics that have related values in the Quran. The purpose of this study to describe the kinds of class of words, the lexical and contextual meaning and the Qur’an values which are presented to Harris J's song lyrics in SALAM Album. This research employed qualitative research and descriptive method because it was used to describe the contextual meaning found in song lyrics of Harris J. The writer used the contextual meaning theory by Mansoer Pateda to conduct this research. The data were taken from first album SALAM by Harris J, five songs they are Salam Alaikum, Rasool'Allah, I Promise, The One and You Are My Life. The first results showed that there are seven kinds of class of words, consisting of; noun, noun phrase, verb, verb phrase, adjective, adjective phrase and adverb. Also the writer found that noun phrase and verb are more dominantly found in song lyrics in the Album SALAM. Second, the contextual meaning in lyrics of the song had the meaning according to the context, but not all people know that contexts. From five songs by Harris J, there were fifteen words, phrases, or sentences found as the context. Third, there are twelve surah and fourteen verses in the Qur'an that the values of the verse relate to the song lyrics from Salam Album.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) To find out the types of persuasive strategies are used by Greta Thunberg in her speeches with theme climate change, (2) To describe persuasive strategies are applied by Greta Thunberg in her speeches with theme climate change. By using qualitative method, the researcher felt easy to analyze the speech and the researcher will have right answer about the question. The writer used documentation technique for collecting data. The writer used content analysis for technique of analysis. The writer found three persuasive strategies that used by Greta Thundberg Speech During Campaign With Theme Climate Change. There are : forensic rhetoric, demonstrative rhetoric, deliberative rhetoric. There are 4 forensic rhetoric , 4 demonstrative rhetoric, 11 deliberative rhetoric. The writer found all of ways that used by Greta Thundberg Speech During Campaign With Theme Climate Change. There are : Appeal to Emotion, showing evidences, personal character of the speaker. There are 5 Appeal to Emotions(ethos), 9 showing evidences(logos), 7 personal characters of the speaker.

Abstract

This research discusses metaphor used in politics articles in the Jakarta Post online newspaper during pandemic covid-19 era. The aim of this research is to find the kind of metaphor and conceptual meaning of metaphor. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Sources of data iin ithis istudy iare iarticles iin i iThe iJakarta iPost ionline inewspaper, iespecially ipolitical iarticles. iData icollection iwas icarried out iby itaking iseveral iarticles ion iPolitics iin ithe iCovid-19 iPandemic iEra. This research using George Lakoof and Mark Jhonson theory for analyze kinds of metaphors, while analyzing the meaning of metaphor using Zoltan Covesces theory. The result of this research is 25 data containing all kinds of metaphor which are five data of orientational metaphor, five data of ontological metaphor, and fifteen data of structural metaphor. The meaning of metaphor is conceptual meaning, namely interpreting imetaphors iusing ithe isource iand itarget idomains, whie the most dominant metaphor is structural metaphors.
