Abstract

Abstract

Diterima 4 Agustus 2023 Diterbitkan 20 Septemeber 2023Key words: Faded leaf pudding, ASI LauncherKata Kunci Puding daun kelor, Pelancar ASIBackground: Breast milk (ASI) is the best nutrition for babies because it is easy to digest and contains nutrients needed for growth and immunity. Exclusive breastfeeding can reduce infant morbidity and mortality. Insufficient breast milk production is a common complaint expressed by mothers, especially in the first week of postpartum. The use of Laktogogum (Laktogogue) is one way that can be done to increase the rate of secretion and production of breast milk. The Moringa plant (Moringa Oleifera) is a local food ingredient that has the potential to be developed by breastfeeding mothers. Moringa leaves can be prepared in the form of pudding. Pudding can be used as an additional alternative food that uses Moringa leaves for breastfeeding mothers. Method: The method in this research is to carry out laboratory tests on Moringa leaf pudding at the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mataram University on May 8 2023. Alkaloid screening uses Mayer and Dragendorff reagents. Results: The research results showed that moringa leaf pudding (Moringa oleifera) contained alkaloid compounds. Conclusion: Utilizing Moringa leaf pudding is an alternative that can be used to overcome the problem of insufficient breast milk production.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk is the first natural food for babies during the first six months of life which meets the baby's nutritional needs for optimal growth, development and health. There are various factors that influence exclusive breastfeeding, including the mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Research objective: To determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding in the Cakranegara Health Center. Research design: the type of research used is quantitative research with a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was 130 breastfeeding mothers. Data analysis used the chi-square test. Research results: Characteristics of respondents, mostly aged between 20-35 years, totaling 44 people (88.0). 26 people (52.0%) had completed high school education, 17 people (34.0%) worked as traders. Meanwhile, 6 people had good knowledge about exclusive breast milk (12.0%), 14 people had good knowledge about exclusive breast milk (28.0%), 30 mothers had poor knowledge (60.0%). Meanwhile, there were 17 mothers who gave breast milk exclusively to their children (34.0%). There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Cakranegara Community Health Center, with p value: 0.004 < a 0.005 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Research Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding. Suggestion: There is a need for education regarding exclusive breastfeeding to the community in the Cakranegara Health Center.

Abstract

Background: Breastfeeding is a natural event for women that is beneficial for both mother and baby. One of the breastfeeding problems that often occurs in the early postpartum period is breast engorgement. Breast engorgement is caused by narrowing of the lactiferous ducts or by glands that are not completely emptied. Breast engorgement occurs due to increased blood flow to the breasts along with breast milk production. Ineffective breastfeeding frequency that can be caused by several factors including sore nipples during breastfeeding, the mother's decision to occasionally delay breastfeeding, and inefficient breastfeeding techniques are some of the causes of breast engorgement. This is painful and swollen, and can occur in part or all of the breasts. The general objective of this study was to determine the effect of giving cabbage leaf compresses on the intensity of pain and breast engorgement in breastfeeding mothers. Method: This research method uses Pre-Experimental with a One group pre test-post test design. The population in this study were all multiparous breastfeeding mothers within 7 days of postpartum with a sample of 19 breastfeeding mothers. Results: This study shows that there is an effect of cabbage leaf compresses on the intensity of pain and breast swelling in breastfeeding mothers with a p value of 0.01 or p <0.05. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving cabbage leaf compresses on the intensity of pain and breast swelling in breastfeeding mothers.
