Abstract

Abstract Normal concrete uses fine aggregate and coarse aggregate with concrete density 2200 kg/m3 -2400 kg/m3 with a compressive strength of about 15-40 MPa. The purpose of this study is to determine characteristics of the concrete aggregate and the compressive strength of the concrete design based on the DOE (Department of Environment) method and the SNI Standard. In this research, the use of nugmet shell was varied as follows: 0%, 0,25%, 0,50%, 0,75% and 1% of the cement weight. The results showed that the use of nutmeg shells as a normal concrete affected the specific gravity and the value compressive strength of concrete. The higher the percentage of nutmeg shells, the lower the specific gravity and compressive strength of the concrete. The average value of concrete density to nutmeg shell 2254.72 (kg/m3 ) and normal concrete 2304.32 (kg/m3 ). The compressive strength of normal concrete is 224.2 kg/cm2 and the concrete from nutmeg shell the composition of 0.25% and 0.5% obtained by 129.6 kg/cm2 and 140.0 kg/cm2 increases the use of nutmeg shell 0.75% and 1% obtained value of 117.6 kg/cm2 and 118.1 kg/cm2 decreased at the age of 28 days. The compressive strength of normal concrete 22 MPa while the maximum nutmeg shell concrete 14 MPa, so it does not meet the quality of normal concrete in general. Abstract

Dari hasil yang didapatkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman kelompok pemuda tentang Pemanfaatan pengolahan limbah sampah plastic sebesar 89.33%.Abstract: Currently, the need for plastic in Indonesia continues to increase with demand from the region continuing to grow, especially the Fakfak district. In dealing with this problem, it is necessary to have training and socialization of simple models in processing plastic waste from various types of plastic that will be used as raw materials in processing for remarketing. The goals to be achieved in this service activity are to increase hard skills in making paving blocks for the convenience of the community when worshiping at the GBI Rock church and to increase soft skills about processing plastic waste around houses of worship in youth groups in increasing entrepreneurial innovation and product marketing. The method used in this activity is in the form of socialization and training that will be carried out directly in processing plastic waste. Based on the results of this service activity, namely to make finished products in the form of paving blocks from plastic waste as basic materials. From the results obtained that understanding of the youth group about the utilization of plastic waste processing is 89.33%

Abstract

The concrete industry in Indonesia is very advanced and developing, so the use of construction materials is increasing. Another material is needed as a substitute for fine aggregate for the manufacture of concrete, namely stone ash from the waste stone industry. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and value of the compressive strength of concrete characteristics with the use of rock ash with mixed variations (10% rock ash, 90% sand), (20% rock ash, 80% sand) and (30% rock ash, 70% sand). with a concrete quality target of Fc' 17.5 Mpa. The method used is the laboratory experimental method referring to the SNI standard. The results showed that the use of stone ash (AB) as a normal concrete mixture affected the compressive strength of concrete. The higher the percentage of stone ash (AB), then the value of the compressive strength of concrete increases. The value of the compressive strength of concrete from rock ash (AB) at the composition of AB 10%, AB 20% and AB 30% was 173.50 kg/cm2, 235.11 kg/cm2 and 239.88 kg/cm2 while normal concrete was 18.59 MPa at the age of 28 days.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a type of waste that is difficult to decompose by natural processes so other alternatives are needed in its processing such as paving block construction materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the characteristics of plastic bottle waste and determine the compressive strength value of paving blocks. The method used in the study was an experiment in the Civil Engineering Laboratory, Politeknik Negeri Fakfak with a mixture composition of 100% PS, 50 PS: 50% KK, 40% PS: 60% KK with a rectangular paving block design type measuring 20 cm x 10 cm x 8 cm. The results showed that using 50% plastic bottle waste and 50% gravel affected the characteristics and compressive strength value of paving blocks. The compressive strength value of Paving Blocks using 50% PS bottle waste and 50% gravel was higher than the mixture of 100% PS bottle waste and the mixture of 40% PS bottle waste + 60% KK, which were 24.14 MPa, 22.79 MPa, and 21.58 MPa. The mix of 50% plastic bottle waste and 50% gravel showed good performance in the paving quality category, including a mixture of 20% PET and 80% fly ash with a quality of 24.20 MPa for use in pedestrian or parking areas.

Abstract

Lightweight concrete is concrete that has a lighter density than concrete in general. Nutmeg shell utilization as coarse aggregate is expected to be the added material in the lightweight concrete mixture. The purpose of this study is to determine characteristics of the concrete aggregate and the compressive strength of the concrete design based on the DOE (Department of Environment) method and the SNI Standard. In this research, the use of nugmet shell was varied as follows: 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% of the concrete weight. The research result shows that the amount of nugmet shell used into the concrete mixture affects the compressive strength of the concrete characteristics (fck’). The compressive strength of the concrete characteristics increases with the increase in the amount of nutmeg shell used in the concrete mixture. The compressie strength increases consecutively from  28.42 kg /cm2, 31.65 kg / cm2 to 32.68 kg /cm2 with the increase in the amount of nutmeg shell: 10%, 20% and 30%. Then, it decreases into 29 , 09 kg /cm2 and 27.38 cm2 with further increasing 40% and 50% nutmeg shell of the concrete weight. The average weight of the concrete mixture using nutmeg shell was 1202 kg/m3with the maximum compressive strength value of 3.2 MPa, thus it could be categorized as the lightweight concrete.   Â
