Abstract

The reciprocal tariff policy implemented by the United States toward its trading partners, including Indonesia, has exerted significant pressure on the competitiveness of Indonesia’s exports. Key sectors such as textiles, agriculture, and light manufacturing have been among the most affected. In this context, logistics efficiency, particularly port management as a strategic node in the export supply chain play a pivotal role. This study aims to analyze the impact of such tariff policies on Indonesia’s export performance, identify structural challenges in port management, and formulate strategies for integrating port governance into national policy frameworks to enhance export competitiveness. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes data collection techniques including document analysis and in-depth interviews with stakeholders in the port, logistics, and trade sectors. The findings indicate that tariff barriers undermine export competitiveness, and inefficiencies in the port system driven by poor inter-agency coordination, infrastructural disparities, and fragmented logistics policies emerge as critical constraints. The study underscores the importance of an adaptive, collaborative, and nationally coordinated port management strategy to bolster Indonesia’s response to the growing pressures of global protectionism. It highlights the urgent need for comprehensive reform in port governance to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international export market.

Abstract

Agribusiness plays a pivotal role in advancing economic growth, food security, and rural welfare, especially in archipelagic nations such as Indonesia where agriculture and maritime activities are geographically intertwined. Yet, fragmented supply chains, limited accessibility, and underdeveloped logistics infrastructure hinder the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural systems. This study proposes a conceptual business model that integrates agribusiness with maritime logistics under the principles of the Blue Economy. Using a qualitative, desk-based analytical approach, it synthesizes academic literature, policy documents, and development reports to construct a framework aligning agricultural production with ocean-based distribution systems. The model is structured through an adapted Business Model Canvas emphasizing five interlinked components: (1) a value proposition centered on maritime connectivity and sustainability; (2) key integration activities between agricultural processing and sea transport coordination; (3) infrastructure and channel reconfiguration around coastal agrologistics hubs; (4) multi-actor partnerships among farmers, port authorities, and logistics providers; and (5) financial and environmental sustainability mechanisms. The findings highlight that maritime logistics can transform geographic fragmentation into an operational advantage by enabling cost-efficient, low-carbon, and inclusive supply chains. The proposed framework offers a strategic pathway for building resilient agribusiness ecosystems in island nations, supporting food security, regional equity, and sustainable development. While conceptual, the model lays groundwork for future empirical validation and pilot implementation to enhance coordination between agriculture and maritime sectors within Blue Economy-driven growth strategies.

Abstract

The development of the trunk industry in Indonesia is currently growing from year to year along with the increasing population, technological advances, industry, and science. The furniture industry in the current era is increasing over time because this industrial sector provides unique and creative interior designs and artistic values that offer comfort to support various activities. With the development of the furniture industry, the demand for wood has also increased, which has led to increasingly fierce competition in the wood industry. Morotai Island Regency is located at the northernmost tip of North Maluku Province, bordering the Pacific Ocean. Its area is 4,301 km2. Accessibility there is complex, and development growth is still minimal. This area includes underdeveloped, remote, outermost, and border areas (3TP). To achieve the welfare of the people in Morotai Island, the Marine Toll Road is a solution offered to reduce the price disparity for coconut trunks from Morotai, which must pass through Tobelo Regency and then be sent to Java.

Abstract

This research examines the potential for maritime supply chain optimisation through the integration of blockchain technology in port logistics management. In the era of global digitalisation, the maritime sector faces challenges to improve operational efficiency and transparency. This study uses a case study approach to evaluate the implementation of blockchain in one of Indonesia's major ports. The research methodology involved qualitative and quantitative analyses, including interviews with key stakeholders, direct observation of logistics processes, and analysis of historical port operational data. The blockchain system was implemented over a six-month period, and its performance was compared with conventional logistics management systems. Key challenges identified include the need for a large initial investment, resistance to change from some stakeholders, and the need for industry-wide standardisation of blockchain protocols. This research demonstrates the great potential of blockchain technology in optimising maritime supply chains. Recommendations for further implementation and future research are discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of industry collaboration and regulatory support to accelerate the adoption of this technology in the maritime sector.

Abstract

This study aims to add insight and skills of MSMEs in the field of managing caught fish with a decision support system to understand customer segment strategy, business planning and product development as well as product design for business development and product marketing through the market place. The population in this study is MSME actors who are members of a fishing group in Wonosari Kendal village. Data collection by the method of questionnaires. The methodology used uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation techniques , literature studies and interviews (interviews). The data analysis used is to use a form of qualitative descriptive method. The result of the observations obtained is that there is still a lack of understanding of the customer strategy segment of MSME actors in understanding the value of fish processed products. Having business planning and product development as a Startup player has done the work to think about how the business will work and what goals MSME players want to achieve by investing a little time and writing a business plan and still lack of product marketing through the marketplace so as to make it difficult for MSME players to market their products using the website. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that by increasing the insight into the skills of MSMEs in the field of managing caught fish with a decision support system understanding customer segment strategies, business planning and product development as well as product design for business development and product marketing through the marketplace can increase sales and revenue.
