Abstract

Fishing boat technology utilizing an electric motor drive system has been developed as one of the innovations in marine vehicle design. Electric boats can move using the torque force generated from the electric motor to rotate the motor shaft, which is connected to the propeller. The aim of this research is to evaluate the torque force produced by an electric engine using the prony brake method. The research method employed was an experimental approach, focusing on variations in load, external diameter of the motor shaft pulley, and motor rotation. The results of experimental calculations show that the prony brake test can be used as an instrument in the approach method for calculating torque. The torque value is influenced by the pulley diameter and load variations. The largest torque value for variations in load and pulley diameter is at a pulley diameter of 3 inches and a load of 8 kg, namely 3.10 Nm. Changes in motor shaft rotation (rpm) affect the increase in torque. The largest torque value in the rotation variation is at 800 rpm and a load of 8kg for each diameter variation; 4.31 Nm (2 inches), 5.34 Nm (2.5 inches), 6.46 Nm (3 inches). The torque obtained is used as a reference in determining the capabilities of the electric engine and the capabilities of the fishing boat prototype while operating at sea.

Abstract

Maxsurf software is a software that can help in simulating modeling aspects, especially marine vehicles. However, the modeling is still limited to large-dimensional marine vehicles. The aim of this study was to map the potential use of Maxsurf software as a simulation tool for small marine vessels used by fishermen. The mapping was conducted by reviewing articles related to Maxsurf's use based on its modeling, resistance, and stability.The research method used is a Publish or Perish literature search and VOSviewer bibliometric analysis. Articles on the use of Maxsurf software from 2015-2025 were obtained from international journals indexed by Google Scholar and Scopus, with the main keyword Maxsurf. The search results on Publish or Perish obtained 42 articles related to the use of maxsurf on large-dimension ships. The distribution of maxsurf use is found in 42 articles with 7 articles (2022 and 2021), 6 articles (2025, 2023, and 2020), 3 articles (2018), 4 article (2024), and 1 article (2019, 2016, and 2015). The general topic studied in the research is design analysis with the most frequently used maxsurf, namely the combination of maxsurf modeller – resistance in 18 article. Research trends are visualized using VOSviewer with the relationship between research topics and keywords. There are 6 main clusters, including; cluster 1 (12); cluster 2 (5); cluster 3 (2); cluster 4 (9); cluster 5 (10); cluster 6 (11). This phenomenon shows that the distribution of topics is still low by looking at the research trend which has decreased over the past 10 years.

Abstract

Olivine single phase of LiFePO4 was successfully synthesized by solid-state reaction (SSR) method through the formation of Fe2P2O7 from precursors of Li2CO3, F2O3, NH4H2PO4, and LiF as materials doping. Variations at temperatures of calcination 670 0C, 700 0C and 750 0C with doped 0.1F. TGA-DSC test results show that the LFP sample undergoes decomposition in the temperature range 0-600 0C. The olivine phase formed at temperatures of more than 650 0C and the oxidation process on the LiFePO4/C sample was completed, and the sample mass was constant. The olivine phase formed was determined by comparing the 2𝜃 value obtained through characterization with the ICDD LFP (01-081-1173), and accordingly with experiment. The increase of the temperature results from a dominant LFP phase with a larger grain size. The effect of increasing the calcination temperature at 0.1F has resulted in an enlargement of the particle size.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu pengganti bahan bakar fosil adalah biosolar, dimana bahan bakar yang diperoleh dari sumber daya biologis, seperti minyak nabati dan lemak hewani. Salah satu untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dari biosolar dengan cara mengkonsumsi diatas suhu 25 0c. Untuk itu dibuatlah penelitian yaitu sebuah prototipe pemanas bahan bakar yang diatur oleh mikrokontroller arduino uno dengan menggunakan sensor DS18B20, pemanas heater dan relay. Percobaan dilakukan dengan memanaskan bahan bakar biosolar B30 sebanyak 700 ml dalam tabung berukuran diameter 16,5 cm dan tinggi 20 cm pada suhu awal 30 0C. Pengujian prototipe pemanas dilakukan dengan suhu 35 0C, 40 0C, 450C, dan 50 0C. Dari hasil percobaan terdapat persentase selisih ushu sebesar 5.71 %, 4.25%, 2.89 %, dan 1.62 %. ABSTRACT One alternative to fossil fuels is biodiesel, which is fuel derived from biological resources such as vegetable oils and animal fats. One way to improve the efficiency of biodiesel is by consuming it at temperatures above 25°C. To achieve this, a study was conducted to develop a fuel heating prototype controlled by an Arduino Uno microcontroller using a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a heater, and a relay. The experiment involved heating 700 ml of B30 biodiesel fuel in a cylindrical container with a diameter of 16.5 cm and a height of 20 cm, starting at an initial temperature of 30°C. The heating prototype was tested at temperatures of 35°C, 40°C, 45°C, and 50°C. The experimental results showed temperature deviation percentages of 5.71%, 4.25%, 2.89%, and 1.62%, respectively.

Abstract

Di wilayah Sulawesi Utara masih banyak masyarakat yang menggunakan perahu tradisional untuk melakukan kegiatan penangkapan ikan. Perkembangan teknologi dan informasi telah membawa perubahan signifikan pada perkembangan perahu tradisional penangkap ikan yang digunakan oleh nelayan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui transformasi perahu tradisional penangkap ikan di wilayah Minahasa Tenggara - Sulawesi Utara terutama pada beberapa jenis perahu yaitu Bolotu, Londe, Pelang dan Bodi. Aspek yang diamati meliputi segi bentuk, ukuran, dan karakteristik perahu, serta jenis ikan yang ditangkap. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yaitu dengan cara pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara. Data yang diperoleh akan direduksi kemudian disajikan serta disimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik perahu Bolotu yaitu tidak memiliki catir, berbahan dasar kayu utuh yang dikeruk, dan berukuran kecil kini mengalami transformasi menjadi perahu Londe yang memiliki catir namun ukurannya masih relatif kecil. Perubahan karakteristik semakin terlihat pada perahu Pelang yaitu dari segi ukuran yang semakin besar tetapi masih memiliki catir untuk stabilitas. Adanya pengaruh bentuk kapal yang lebih sederhana dari wilayah Ambon maka pengrajin kapal mulai membuat perahu yang tidak memiliki catir namun berukuran lebih besar dari pada perahu Pelang, perahu tersebut disebut dengan Perahu Bodi. Alat penggerak perahu tradisional penangkap ikan yang digunakan juga mengalami transformasi dari yang awalnya menggunakan dayung berubah menjadi mesin katinting dan sekarang mesin tempel.  Jenis ikan yang ditangkap juga menggambarkan peningkatan dari segi area penangkapannya yaitu dari area dekat pantai ke area yang lebih jauh dari pantai.
