Abstract

Each word will not occur reduplication without a morphological process. The morphological process includes giving affixes, reduplication or repetition of words, and combining words. So, reduplication or repetition of words is part of the morphological process. This research method is descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study used recording techniques, fishing techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique used descriptive data with procedures for classifying data, describing data reduplication, analyzing language reduplication, interpreting data and concluding. The results of this study are the reduplication of Riau Malay Language in Medan City Village, Kelayang District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, consisting of pure reduplications found as many as 62 Pure reduplication data, for example: [dapuɣ-dapuɣ] 'dapur-dapur', while 5 sound-changing reduplications, for example: [bola-baliɁ] 'back and forth', while 5 Partial reduplications for example: [trees]'trees', while 10 Affixed reduplications for example: [luŋguɁ-luŋguɁkan] 'collect-collect

Abstract

Political news is an event concerning constitutional issues and is related to government. Political news covers the life of the bang and the country which has an impact on the lives of the people. In the political news of Tribun Pekanbaru, there is a language error semantic level. The problem in this research is how wrong it is language at the semantic level in the political news of the Pekanbaru Tribun newspaper ? The purpose of this research is to describe, analyze, interpret, and summarizes the language errors at the semantic level in political news Tribun Pekanbaru newspaper. The method in this research is the Content method Analysis (Content Analysis). Sources of data in this study are newspapers Tribun Pekanbaru edition 1 s.d. 30 September 2020. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. This type of research is library (library research). The results of data management were found In this study, namely: (1) Errors due to the c0-parents Tribun Pekanbaru found 3 data, (2) Errors due to the confounding partner contained in the news Political newspaper Tribun Pekanbaru found 5 data, (3) errors because of the wrong choice of words found in newspaper political news The Pekanbaru Tribune found 24 data. From the above explanation, it is an error because the choice of words that are not correct is found more than mistake because the couple was confused

Abstract

The limited knowledge of students and teachers in multiliteracy-based learning media is one of the obstacles in language learning. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that both parties, teachers, and students, can be more motivated to improve language multiliterate skills. This activity was carried out as a training activity in the form of an exhibition, where several technology-based learning media that could help increase students' multiliteracy were exhibited on banners. This activity was carried out at SMKS YAPIM Siak Hulu Vocational School, with students and language teachers participating. The results of the activity evaluation show that this training is very useful in helping teachers be able to explore ideas, analyze learning needs, design learning models, design learning models, and present learning models. So, in the end, multiliteracy learning can be implemented by utilizing a variety of learning resources and critical literacy stimulation to motivate students.

Abstract

Research on the form of Reduplication of the Javanese language in Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency was carried out with the aim of describing and analyzing the form and meaning of Javanese Reduplication in Pinggir District, which is starting to become extinct because the younger generation is embarrassed to use it. It is hoped that this research can provide knowledge, especially to the younger generation, to understand the importance of the role of the Javanese language in preserving the Javanese language in Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. This research approach is a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Meanwhile, the data source for this research is Javanese speech obtained through interviews with three Javanese-speaking informants in Pinggir District. Research data regarding the form and meaning of Javanese language reduplication in Pinggir District, Bengkalis Regency. Researchers identified 121 forms of Javanese language reduplication, which were categorized into four types: complete repetition (51 repetitions), partial repetition (6 repetitions), repetition combined with affixing processes (59 repetitions) and repetition of phoneme changes (5 repetitions). 121 utterances, including reduplication which expresses the meaning 'many' (36 examples) not found reduplication which expresses the meaning 'unconditional', reduplication expresses a meaning which resembles what is said in the basic form, done repeatedly', done at will, with casually, or happily, carried out by two parties and regarding each other' (52 examples), reduplication states 'work-related matters' (7 examples), reduplication states the meaning 'somewhat' (3 examples), reduplication states the meaning ' the highest attainable level' (8 examples), expressed 'intensity of feeling' (15 examples). It turns out that people in Pinggir District are more likely to use repetitive speech combined with the process of adding affixes and speech that expresses the meaning of 'actions that are done repeatedly' in everyday life

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze assertive speech acts in the debate event for the second candidate for Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia 2024. The method used in this research is a content analysis method with a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach is an approach that examines scientific objects in the form of narrative texts, while the content analysis method is a method that involves an in-depth discussion of the content of written information. The data source for this research is the KPU RI YouTube channel which is currently hotly discussed and watched by the wider community. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation techniques, note techniques, and documentation techniques. In this research the author found 43 assertive speech acts, consisting of 26 speech acts of informing, 6 speech acts of suggesting, 5 speech acts of stating, 1 speech act of reporting, 3 speech acts of complaining, 1 speech act of demanding and 1 speech act of disappointing. Based on the utterances spoken, the speech act with the most is the speech act of telling as many as 26 utterances because this speech act contains information that one wants to give to the interlocutor and the general public, while the utterances with the fewest are the speech act of reporting, the speech act of demanding and the speech act of jealousy each with 1 statement. So, it can be said that an assertive speech act is a speech act that binds the speaker to the truth of what is being said, therefore the speaker should pay attention to his speech when speaking, especially to the general public

Abstract

Controlling emotions and behavior is a crucial aspect to be carefully considered in developing the teacher's identity by strengthening self-control and personal values that serve as values and impact students. This is the key issue in this community service. Therefore, self-control and personal values need to be stimulated in all learning activities at school. This community service aims to develop the identity of teachers through self-control and the values possessed by teachers. Participatory action research is the method used in the implementation of this community service. The community service results in the development of the identity of teachers at SD 001 in Kebuh Tengah through self-control and personal values in preparing materials in accordance with the cultural conditions of the surrounding community, namely Malay culture. It involves creating teaching materials integrated with the observed local culture and designing lesson plans that align with the demands of learning objectives. The data collection technique used is conducting interviews with elementary school teachers with prepared questions to explore issues related to self-control and personal values that need to be strengthened in teachers. Strong self-control has an impact on teachers in restraining or controlling oneself, namely the ability to control behavior, cognitive control, and decision-making control. Meanwhile, personal values are also closely related to teachers in providing instructional materials to students. The personal values that teachers should master include self-transcendence, conservation, self-improvement, and openness to change. This community service concludes that developing the teacher's identity can be achieved by integrating self-control and personal values.

Abstract

In the industry revolution 4.0 era, the Indonesian government also strives to socialize the education change to increase the quality and effort to build up the students of higher education learning style more autonomously. This research aimed to explore the effectiveness of using Learn Social Platform toward students’ writing skills and explore students’ perspectives of using this platform in one of the private universities in Riau, Indonesia. This research was a mixed-method approach. There are 38 undergraduate students as the sample of this research. The researchers used two kinds of instruments such as writing test for analyzing quantitative data and interview for qualitative data. The result showed that the use of this platform can give a significant effect on students’ writing skill which was revealed by students’ post-test was higher than pre-test. In addition, interview data reveal that students felt enthusiastic to use this platform because it is very helpful to increase their English skills which complete material and tasks. In a practical case, the students expected to get feedback as soon as possible on the same day from their lecturer.
