Abstract

Abstract The death ceremony carried out by Hindu Kaharinngan in Katingan Hilir consists of the stages of the burial ceremony: Tiwah and Ngalangkang Pambak. This ceremony is a mandatory follow-up after the Tiwah, but in reality, Ngalangkang Pambak is no longer held after the ceremony. This ceremony is even carried out as an annual ritual or to commemorate certain events. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The type of data for this research is primary data sourced from informants and secondary data sourced from supporting data. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, recording, and documentation studies. Data analysis and interpretation procedures in research using a "ground-up" approach. The result of this research, Ngalangkang Pambak is part of a series of Tiwah ceremonies. However, in its development, Ngalangkang Pambka turned into an annual tradition. Ngalangkang Pambak is an event of thanksgiving for the prosperity, good fortune, and health that have been given by the ancestors by cleaning the Pambak or the graves of deceased relatives (ancestors). Ngalangkang Pambak is also means of paying for one's wishes because all requests, whether in the form of work or achievements specifically requested from the ancestors, have all been achieved. The Ngalangkang Pambak ritual creates a feeling of joy and makes life more relaxed and enjoyable, bringing joy to the family that has carried it out because this ritual also means that the family is considered capable of carrying out a form of devotion to their ancestors.

Abstract

Manenga Lewu is a death ceremony still performed by Hindu Kaharingan in Tarantang Village. However, during the onslaught of modernity and the culture of practical and fast-paced life, the Manenga Lewu ceremony threatens its existence, which could become increasingly rare and even abandoned. In addition, the Manenga Lewu ceremony is unique to the post-burial death ceremony, which Hindu Kaharingan generally carries out. This research aims to analyze and provide information about the form, ideology, and meaning of the Manenga Lewu ceremony, which can add insight for the Hindu community about the death ceremony in Tarantang Village, Kapuas Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method that describes the uniqueness of the Manenga Lewu implementation process by looking at the form, ideology, and meaning as a guideline for analysis. The results showed that Manenga Lewu is the second stage of the death ceremony after burial, which is held for seven days or a maximum of three months. This ceremony is not only to provide a place for the spirit of the deceased but also to release the living family from Rutas in the form of bad luck and abstinence. Manenga Lewu is also a ceremony with religious, social, and artistic ideologies. The meaning of Manenga Lewu includes spiritual, cultural, and social aspects. This ceremony characterizes the Hindu community in Mantangai Sub-district, especially in Tarantang Village, which differs from the Hindu Kaharingan community in other areas of Kapuas Regency.

Abstract

The implementation of Hindu religious education is guided by the curriculum established by the national government. However, there are variations, particularly in Central Kalimantan Province, as Hindu religious teachers integrate Hindu religious material with local Kaharingan teachings as a means of practicing their religion in their daily lives. This is necessary due to the diversity of traditions within the Hindu archipelago, thus minimizing factors that cause conflict and disintegration. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the relevance and potential for integrating local Kaharingan values ​​into the Hindu religious education curriculum. It also aims to explore the values ​​of local Kaharingan wisdom in Hindu Religious Education learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, conducted through in-depth exploration at the research location. The results of this study show that the local Kaharingan teaching values ​​integrated into Hindu religious education learning include 1) Lime Sarahan teaching values ​​on the Panca Sradha topic. 2) Hindu Kaharingan ceremony values ​​on the Panca Yadnya topic, 3) Kandayu and Tandak teaching values ​​on the Dharma Gita topic, and 4) Pandehen teaching values ​​on the Dharma Wacana topic. The method of integrating local Kaharingan teaching values ​​in Hindu religious education learning uses practical methods, assignment methods, and methods that can be directly understood by students. It can be concluded that local Kaharingan teaching values ​​can be integrated into Hindu Religious Education learning. With the integration of local Kaharingan values ​​in Hindu religious education learning, not only can it increase students' sradha bhakti and justification of faith, but students can also practice and implement Kaharingan teachings in everyday life in society.
