Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of grade 1 students at Kanisius Kintelan 1 Elementary School by using the problem based learning (PBL) learning model in the subject of matematic in the independent curriculum. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which includes two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely Planning (Planning), Implementation (Acting), Observation (Observing), Reflection (Reflecting). Collecting data using test techniques, questionnaires and observation. The research subjects were class I SD Kanisius Kintelan 1, totaling 13 students consisting of 5 male students and 8 female students. The results of observations show the problem of student activity and student disinterest in lecture learning. Actions carried out using the problem based learning model of learning. The results showed that there was an increase in activity from cycle I to cycle II of 46%, an increase in learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II of 77%. So it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can increase learning motivation and learning outcomes of class I SD Kanisius Kintelan 1 Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase interest and learning outcomes through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the material of Indonesian cultural diversity. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is conducted in 2 cycles with four phases namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection methods namely tests, questionnaires, and observations. The results showed that the interest in learning from the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II increased as seen from the pre-cycle with an average of 32.5% in the less category, in cycle I with an average of 58.5% in the sufficient category, and in the cycle II with an average of 71.30% in the high category. The increase in student learning outcomes can be seen from the test results in the pre-cycle with an average of 58.44 in the less category, in the first cycle student learning outcomes increase with an average of 76.89 in the good category, and in cycle II it continues to increase with the average value of 83.78 is in the very good category. It can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model can increase the interest and learning outcomes of science students in class IV SD Kanisius Kintelan I.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Kanisius Kintelan I dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada pembelajaran Matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Setiap siklus dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) tindakan, (3) pengamatan, dan (4) refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Kanisius Kintelan I yang berjumlah 18 siswa yang terdiri dari 8 siswa laki-laki dan 10 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, kuesioner, dan tes. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, keaktifan belajar siswa pada pra siklus menunjukkan bahwa 38% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan rendah, 33% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan sedang, dan 27% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan tinggi. Pada siklus I, 16% termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan rendah, 33% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan sedang, dan 50% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan tinggi. Kemudian pada siklus II, 0% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan rendah, 22% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan sedang, dan 77% siswa termasuk dalam kategori keaktifan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil belajar, siswa mengalami peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar dimana pada pra siklus rata-rata sebesar 63, pada siklus I sebesar 74, dan pada siklus II sebesar 81. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di kelas IV dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Matematika.
