Abstract

Adanya hasil penelitian yang ditunjukkan oleh para pendidik dalam bidang studi Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial menunjukkan bahwa siswa SMP memiliki motivasi yang rendah terhadap bidang tersebut. Dr. Taat Wulandari dkk menyebutkan bahwa salah satu penyebab rendahnya motivasi siswa disebabkan oleh kurangnya keterampilan guru dalam mengajarkan konsep-konsep yang terdapat pada buku pembelajaran IPS (2018). Hal ini perlu ditanggapi secara serius dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran eksperimental. Pendekatan tersebut merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan untuk mempermudah siswa memahami materi dengan secara aktif terlibat melakukan sebuah kegiatan atau eksperimen. Pemahaman materi dalam pembelajaran dapat diwujudkan dengan pemanfaatan media permainan “monopoli” yang dimodifikasi menjadi permainan “maripoli” yang bermuatan teori dan materi yang dipelajari. Materi yang dipergunakan dalam permainan ini adalah materi Maritim yang terdapat pada Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Kelas VIII pada Kurikulum 2013. Kelas yang melakukan kegiatan permainan eksperimental monopoli ini ialah empat kelas pada Sekolah Islam Plus Daarul Jannah Cibinong. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap motivasi siswa dalam mempelajari Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dan terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar secara kognitif yang dibuktikan pada kemampuan siswa dalam memahami uji teori dan istilah yang terkait dengan materi pembelajaran maritim

Abstract

The presence of spices in the archipelago became one of the pioneers for various cultural manifestations that appeared in various regions of the Indonesian archipelago. One form of the presence of spices that is reflected in this cultural form is the traditional steam bath tradition. The aims of the study were to 1) describe the distribution of bathing habits using spice water in several regions in the Indonesian archipelago. 2) mapping the distribution plots of spices in the archipelago through local traditions that have existed and are still alive in the community in certain areas of the archipelago; 3) showing the traditional steam bath tradition which has become a habit and has the potential to become an intangible cultural heritage in Indonesia. In conducting the study, it was used to search for sources of information from literature studies related to the spice bath tradition. The method used is a qualitative method by describing a map of the distribution of the spice bath tradition in the regions of the archipelago. The results of the study show that traditional steam bathing is a spice bath tradition that is spread across the eight regions in Indonesia and is dominated by people who have a background of Malay cultural influence. The eight areas include North Sumatra (Batak Karo), Jambi (Tanjung Bajo Village), Palembang, Pontianak (Mempawah), West Kalimantan (Sintang Regency), Sambas Regency, North Kayong Regency (Pangkalan Buton Village), and East Belitung

Abstract

Spices are a hot issue that is now being discussed by various groups. The Presence of spices in the archipelago became one of the pioneers for various cultural manifestations that appeared in various regions of the archipelago. One form of the presence of spices that is reflected in this cultural form is the traditional steam bath which is carried out in various regions in the archipelago. This paper tries to examine the traditional steam bath which has the potential to become an intangible cultural heritage in Indonesia. In addition to this potential, traditional steam baths can also be an indicator of the distribution of spice plants in the archipelago from the past to the present. Therefore, this study uses qualitative methods and searches for sources of information from literature studies. The result of the study shows that traditional steam bathing is a spice bath tradition that is spread across ten regions in Indonesia and is dominated by people who have a background of Malay cultural influence.

Abstract

The Kaganga Script is one of the ancient scripts that existed in Bengkulu in the past. The existence of the Kaganga Script in the past can be proven by the discovery of hundreds of manuscripts in the media of bamboo, bamboo blades, bark, rattan, horns, paper, and so on. The Kaganga Script stores a lot of important information about the Bengkulu people in the past such as medicine, customary law, religion, and others. However, it is unfortunate that currently the number of Bengkulu people who master the reading and writing technique of the Kaganga Script is very rare, so some training is needed in the field of reading, writing, and teaching the Kaganga Script. The training was carried out for two intensive days at Mercure Hotel Bengkulu by presenting competent trainers. The results of the training show that: 1) more than 90 percent of participants understands the history of Kaganga script in Bengkulu; 2) 75 percent of participants can read and write basic using Kaganga script; 3) the majority of participants were declared competent to teach the Kaganga Script to the students.Aksara Kaganga merupakan salah satu aksara kuno yang di masa lalu pernah eksis di Bengkulu. Eksistensi Aksara Kaganga di Bengkulu pada masa lalu dapat dibuktikan dengan ditemukannya ratusan manuskrip dalam media bambu, bilah bambu, kulit kayu, rotan, tanduk, kertas, dan lain sebagainya. Aksara Kaganga menyimpan begitu banyak informasi penting tentang masyarakat Bengkulu di masa lalu seperti ilmu pengobatan, hukum adat, keagamaan, dan lain-lain. Namun demikian, sangat disayangkan saat ini jumlah masyarakat Bengkulu yang menguasai teknik baca tulis Aksara Kaganga sangat jarang ditemukan, sehingga diperlukan pelatihan dalam bidang baca tulis dan pengajaran Aksara Kaganga. Kegiatan ini berupa Training of Trainer yang dilakukan kepada 30 orang peserta dari guru dan penggiat budaya yang bertujuan untuk menghasilan ahli baru dalam bidang baca tulis dan pengajaran Aksara Kaganga. Pelatihan dilakukan selama dua hari secara intensif bertempat di Mercure Hotel Bengkulu dengan menghadirkan trainer yang kompeten. Adapun hasil pelatihan adalah: 1) lebih dari 90 persen peserta pelatihan dapat memahami dengan baik sejarah Aksara Kaganga di Bengkulu, 2) 75 persen peserta pelatihan dapat membaca dan menulis dasar menggunakan Aksara Kaganga; 3) secara umum sebagian besar peserta pelatihan dapat dinyatakan kompeten untuk mengajarkan Aksara Kaganga kepada para peserta didik.

Abstract

This study describes about the form of local genius from tathagata Statue in Borobudur temple. Tathagata is a term to call someone who reach the truth of life. This Tathagata becomes the Buddha image which has certain characteristic (like hand gesture or mudra, and sit gesture). This study using 20 Tathagata in Rupadhatu terrace of Borobudur. Five characteristic of local genious which told by Ayatrohaedi (1986) become reference for showing the local genious that exist in Tathagata statue in Borobudur temple. The purpose of this article is giving new opinion that since Hindu-Buddha period, the old Javanesche artist (silpin) had been able to integrate foreign culture within local culture in the art and placement form of tathagata image. The research found that Tathagata have unique charateristic in art style and the placement which are the form of local genious from the Javanesche artist.

Abstract

Manuscripts that show the existence of diseases that have appeared in the community is Ulu script. The Ulu Manuscript, which is the object of research in the Museum Negeri Bengkulu collection manuscript labeled A manuscript (3904), manuscript B (4976), manuscript C (5503), and Karangkus manuscript (07.54). The discussion focuses on diseases that have appeared in the Serawai community in the Bengkulu in the mid-18th-19 century. The content of the Ulu manuscript from the Serawai ethnic group can provide an overview of the life of the Serawai people when experiencing and healing themself from the illness. The results show that the diseases which attack the Old Serawai people in their daily life were fever, tinea versicolor, diarrhea, and swelling. Other diseases whose meaning is still unknown and attacking the ancient Serawai people wereparajo, parabula and ntaluy. Therefore, this study can be useful for traditional medical education at presenttime.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan rekonstruksi sejarah tradisi pantauan mangkal laugh pada masyarakat Kedurang, Bengkulu Selatan dan menganalisis relevansinya dengan pembelajaran sejarah di SMA. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahap utama, yakni heuristic, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) tradisi pantauan mangkal laugh meruoakan tradisi yang berakar pada tradisi pantauan yang ada di daerah Besemah, Pagar Alam. Tradisi pantauan mangkal laugh sudah ada di Kedurang sejak lama, setidaknya sejak zaman sebelum Indonesia merdeka; 2) sejak pertama kali dilakukan hingga saat ini, tradisi pantauan mangkal laugh sudah mengalami tiga kali perubahan bentuk. Perubahan tersebut terjadi terutama dalam hal jumlah pelaksana dan bentuk pelaksanaan Mangkal Luagh; 3) dalam kaitannya dengan pembelajaran sejarah di SMA, untuk mata pelajaran Sejarah Indonesia tidak ada satupun materi yang secara langsung bersinggungan dengan tradisi Pantauan mangkal Lugah. Hal ini karena tradisi mangkal laugh tidak memiliki irisan dengan tradisi zaman pra sejarah, Hundu-Budha, Islam atau zaman pengaruh Barat. Akan tetapi, tradisi mangkal laugh dapat diintegrasikan pada pembelajaran sejarah minat, terutama pada tema berpikri sejarag, sumber sejarah, dan metode penelitian sejarah untuk kelas X tema perkembangan budaya zaman orde baru dan reformasi untuk kelas XII.

Tathagata merupakan istilah yang digunakan untuk seseorang yang mencapai kebenaran sejati dalam kehidupan agama Buddha. Tathagata tersebut diwujudkan dalam bentuk arca Buddha yang memiliki beberapa bentuk karakteristik. Kajian ini menggunakan 20 sampel arca Tathagata yang terdapat di tingkat Rupadhatu pada Candi Borobudur. Lima ciri kearifan lokal yang disebutkan oleh Ayatrohaedi (1986) menjadi acuan utama untuk menunjukkan kearifan lokal yang melekat pada perwujudan arca Tathagata di Candi Borobudur. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pandangan bahwa sejak masa Hindu-Buddha, para seniman Jawa Kuno (silpin) telah memiliki kemampuan dalam mengintegrasikan unsur kebudayaan dari luar dengan kebudayaan asli setempat dalam bentuk kesenian arca. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arca Tathagata di Candi Borobudur memiliki keunikan dalam hal gaya seni dan penempatan arca yang merupakan suatu bentuk kearifan lokal para seniman Jawa Kuno..

Abstract

Gulai Umbut Undak Tapeghan Ikan is a traditional dish originating from Durian Sebatang Village, Kedurang District, South Bengkulu Regency. The availability of raw materials for making this curry is now declining due to the exploitation of the local environment. This has caused the local knowledge contained in Gulai Umbut Undak Tapeghan Ikan to erode and become vulnerable amid the tide of globalization. The purpose of this study is to examine the form of local knowledge values in Gulai Umbut Undak Tapeghan Ikan. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a cultural anthropology approach. Data collection was conducted through interviews and observations by observing the process of collecting ingredients such as umbut in the forest and fish in the river. Data analysis was carried out by sorting information based on the concept of local wisdom. The results of the study show that the local knowledge values contained in Gulai Umbut Undak Tapeghan Ikan are evident in the knowledge of the process of searching for raw ingredients for gulai, the skills involved in the process of cooking gulai, and the social integration created by the serving of gulai in the Mangkal Luagh tradition. The social integration of this food is evident when it is served in the Mangkal Luagh tradition. Gulai Umbut is a mandatory and special dish that must be made in every home as a requirement for the Mangkal Luagh tradition so that guests can try the local specialty.
