Abstract

Ambon City, the capital of Maluku Province, is located on the coast of Ambon Island and in Ambon Bay. It has the potential for biodiversity and marine services to be developed in the tourism sector. This study aims to analyze the suitability of the coastal tourist area in the recreation category in Nusaniwe Beach District, Ambon City. Primary data collection is obtained directly at the research site through in situ observation, including observing the beach type, brightness, current speed, coastal slope, and beach width. Secondary data include the Bathymetry map literature and other supporting literature. The study results were analyzed using descriptive methods and an analysis of the fitness index of beach recreation category tourism with the addition of conformity parameters based on conditions at the study location. The results showed that the tourism conformity index (IKW) value of the recreational category is "Very Suitable" for three (3) of the five (5) research sites, namely Namalatu Beach and Santai Beach. In contrast, the tourist suitability index value is included in the "Suitable" category for two (2) research locations, namely Ronawiska Beach and Blanda Pool Beach.

Abstract

Tourism is an important sector in boosting the economy and improving the welfare of the Indonesian people, including in coastal areas like Negeri Waai. With 4 hectares of mangroves, the ecotourism potential in this area is very promising, but it has not yet been optimally utilized for community welfare or disaster mitigation. This study aims to assess the condition of mangroves in Waai and plan the development of disaster-mitigation-based ecotourism. Using descriptive methods with both qualitative and quantitative approaches, data were collected through field surveys and literature reviews. The mangrove vulnerability index was calculated using the Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI), while the suitability of the area for ecotourism was evaluated based on attractiveness, accessibility, and infrastructure. The study found 7 species of mangroves with a density of 2,068 stands per hectare, and the CVI indicated low vulnerability. According to ADO-ODTWA criteria, this area is highly suitable for ecotourism.

Abstract

The development of a city cannot be separated from the surrounding area, so that in the urban system, a city will have an interdependent impact with the immediate area around it (Putra, et al, 2022). One form of inter-regional linkage occurs in the Ambon Island area, which was formed from the combination of Ambon City and a small part of Central Maluku Regency. This center-periphery phenomenon can occur in the form of linkages between sectors that are connected using accessibility. This research aims to explain the impact of land transportation accessibility in the economic development of fisheries-based coastal areas. The data analysis method in this research includes a quantitative approach using the gravity accessibility method and multiple linear regression. This quantitative descriptive method is used to determine the influence of land transportation on the economic development of coastal areas. In this context, transportation acts as the lifeblood of the economy, because thanks to transportation, people and goods can be moved. If mobility, which is largely facilitated by the transportation system, becomes more frequent and frequent, then this shows that there is regional economic activity and development which can ultimately improve community welfare.

Abstract

Community participation is the voluntary involvement of the community in achieving common goals. There are several issues in the development of Tanusang Beach in Geser Village as a destination that does not yet prioritize the principles of ecotourism, such as the lack of community involvement in management and the lack of educational principles. This study aims to identify the forms and levels of community participation in supporting Tanusang Beach in Geser Village, as well as to determine the direction of community-based ecotourism development in the area. The mixed method approach was used to identify the forms and levels of community participation through questionnaire distribution, Likert scale calculations, and interviews to determine the direction of development. The results of the study showed that the forms and levels of community participation were quite participatory, with 65.9% participating intellectually and 61.6% participating in the form of labor contributions. Furthermore, from the hierarchical analysis of stakeholder participation, the level of community participation in Kilwaru and Kampung Baru hamlets is still low because the majority of the community is at the level of tokenism, with the highest scores being at the informing level (73.7%) and consultation level (68.9%). Community participation is needed in developing ecotourism areas because it can drive other ecotourism principles such as economic principles, educational principles, and conservation principles. Community participation is also an important part of ecotourism development and can increase productivity so that the surrounding community can enjoy the economic benefits.
