Abstract

Objectives. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of reciprocal and self-check teaching methods, which can serve as a reference or alternative solution in tennis lectures to enhance the quality of learning. Materials and methods. The study used an experimental method with a Pretest and Posttest design. The sample size matched the population, and individuals were paired based on their tennis ability. The t-test was used for analysis and showed a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion. Without a doubt, the evidence suggests that the reciprocal teaching method is vastly superior to the self-check method. By incorporating a collaborative approach, reciprocal teaching enables individuals to learn from one another and to engage in active discussions. On the other hand, self-checking lacks the interactive element that is crucial for effective learning. Therefore, it is not surprising that the results overwhelmingly favor the reciprocal teaching method as the more influential and successful approach.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to serve down in volleyball games using modified plastic balls for fifth grade students of SD Negeri Inpres Pasir 2. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method by involving students as participants in the learning process. The research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The modification made in this study is the use of plastic balls as a tool for lower service training, replacing ordinary volleyballs. Data collection uses observation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique in this study uses quantitative descriptive. The results showed that in cycle 1, 63% of students were found in the category of incomplete and 37% of students in the category of complete. Because the classical completeness of students is still relatively low, it is necessary to go to cycle 2. In cycle 2, it was found that 13% of students were in the unfinished category and 87% of students were in the completed category. This finding shows that there was an increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Thus, the researcher just stopped the cycle until cycle 2. This finding shows that the use of plastic ball modifications in learning can improve students' lower serve skills in volleyball games at SD Negeri Inpres Pasir 2. This is because plastic balls provide opportunities for students to more easily master the basic techniques of lower serves, so they can serve more accurately and consistently.

Data on physical fitness was collected through fitness tests which included running tests, jumping tests, push-up tests, and sit-ups. The research data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive statistical analysis with the percentage formula. The results showed that the level of physical fitness of class X students at Pembangunan V Yapis Waena High School varied. A total of 11 students (52.38%) have a physical fitness level at a moderate level. Found 7 students (33.33%) have a physical fitness level at a good level. There were 3 students (14.28%) had a physical fitness level at a poor level. The distribution profile of physical fitness levels shows that the majority of class X students have good fitness levels, but there are still some students who have low fitness levels. This shows the importance of efforts to increase student participation in physical activities and sports at school. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that schools make further efforts to increase student participation in physical activities and sports. Interesting and diverse sports programs can be designed to encourage students to be more physically active and maintain their health
