Abstract

ABSTRACT : The study of weed vegetation analysis and types of insect pests in rice and vegetable plantations has been conducted in SP1 and Wadio village, Nabire Regency. The study aims to analyze the types of weeds found in rice and vegetable plantations. This study used transect method per plot. Plots were made as many as 50 plots each with a size of 2 m x 2 m. The results showed that the weed vegetation of vegetable plantations in Wadio and SP1 Villages, obtained 21 families 31 species. Weeds in rice plantations consisted of 9 families and 13 species with a total of 786 individuals, while in vegetable plantations consisted of 12 families and 17 species, so that the total is 836 individuals. The Sorensen similarity index of weeds obtained for both rice and vegetable plantations varied with a range between very high 100%, high range 66.66 and low range 28.57. The insect pest similarity index in both fields varied with a range between 66.66 - 100%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research aims to find out the types of ameliorant and the local West Papua genotypes that have the best influence on corn productivity, identify the yield of several promoting genotypes of the local West Papua red corn using several types of ameliorant in North Manokwari District, and know the right type of the ameliorant for increasing the yield of several promoting genotype of the local West Papua red corn. The study used a split-plot design with the combination treatments of ameliorant types and corn plant genotypes. The types of ameliorant as the first treatment factor which was allocated as a main plot consisted of Control or without ameliorant (Ao), Chicken Manure (A1), and Goat Manure (A2). The second factor (G) as a subplot consisted of 8 types of corn genotypes (AMP-UNIPA 1, AMP-UNIPA 2, AMP-UNIPA 3, AMP-UNIPA 4, AMP-UNIPA 5, AMP-UNIPA 6, AMP-UNIPA 7, and AML-UNIPA (local varieties). The results showed that the combination of ameliorant and corn genotypes treatments produced a different influence on the growth and yield components of corn. Several important variables in the growth component as well as the corn yield component showed the best results as an influence of goat manure ameliorant application.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of bananas found on Auri Island, Supiori Regency. This research was conducted in Mburwandi, Manggonswan, Insumbrei, Sawendi, Aruri, Imbirsbari, and Ineki villages. The data collected consisted of qualitative and quantitave banana plant characters observed directly in the field. The similarity among banana types was analyzed using cluster analysis and the results were presented in the form of dendrograms and descriptive tables. The findings indicate that there are 11 types of bananas distributed across the seven villages in the Auri Island District. Cluster analysis revealed seven similarity groups. Cluster 1 consisted of Pisang Nona, while Cluster 2 comprised Pisang Mas and Pisang Raja, which formed a closely related group based on shared characteristics, particularly the presence of speckles on the leaf petiole, leaf color, the color of the upper leaf surface, the color of the lower leaf surface, and fruit shape. Cluster 3 included Pisang Insarek, whereas Cluster 4 consisted of Pisang Kidang and Pisang Seribu, which exhibited similarities in leaf posture, waxy layer, lower leaf surface color, and fruit shape. Cluster 5 comprised Pisang Ambon, Cluster 6 included Pisang Kepok, characterized by a waxy surface and tapering fruit shape, and Cluster 7 consisted of Pisang Jarum. This variation among clusters indicates the substantial potential of banana genetic resources, which is essential for conservation efforts and banana breeding programs.
