Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of acupressure on changes in Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) values in patients with decreased consciousness. The research design used was a quasi-experiment, one group pre-test, and a post-test design. The results of the univariate analysis showed that before the acupressure intervention, the majority of respondents (23.3%) were at the somnolent level of consciousness, and after the intervention, the majority of respondents, six people (20.0%), were at the delirium level of consciousness. The results of bivariate analysis showed that the p-value (0.004). In conclusion, acupressure has an effect on changes in GCS values in patients with decreased consciousness. Abstract

Abstract

This research aimed to obtain land characters and qualities data and to determine land suitability for clove and nutmeg and their spatial distribution in Nusalaut Island, Central Maluku Regency. The results showed that the land suitability for clove are marginally suitable class (S3) with the coverage area is 1452.38 ha or 66.51%, and the limiting factors are water availability and nutrient retention (wa, nr) limiting factors and unsuitable class (N) of 731.52 ha or 33.50 %. While the land suitability for nutmeg are moderate suitable (S2) with root media and nutrient retention (rc, nr) limiting factors and the coverage area is 123.75 ha or 5.66%, S2nr of 409.93 ha or 18.77%, slope (S2eh) limiting factor with the coverage area is 918.7 ha or 42.1% and the unsuitable class (N) with the area of 731.52 ha or 33.50 %. The land suitability of the clove and nutmeg is located in the Other Used-Areas (APL) with the area of 2183.63 ha, while total land units in the study area is 2697 ha.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health issue, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia, which ranks third globally for TB cases. In Papua, the number of TB cases has been steadily increasing, especially among the productive age group (15-50 years). This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the occurrence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Nabire District, Central Papua, using an observational analytic design with a case-control study. The case population in this study consists of all patients diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) BTA (+) residing in the working area of Sriwini Health Center, totaling 50 individuals. The control population includes patients diagnosed with negative pulmonary TB, totaling 100 individuals, with a total sample size of 150, selected using the total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire, which contains a list of questions related to the respondent's identity and the variables of the study, including age, gender, occupation, smoking status, alcohol consumption, housing density, house lighting, and household contact history. The questionnaire used is standardized with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.937, so no validity or reliability testing was conducted. The data from this study were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results provide valuable insights into the local epidemiology of TB and underscore the need for targeted public health interventions to address these risk factors. Improving TB detection, treatment adherence, and public awareness are essential for controlling the TB burden in Nabire and similar areas in Central Papua.

Abstract

Bagore plant (Caesalpinia crista L.) belongs to the tribe Leguminosae and grows wild on the coast. Standardization is important to guarantee potency uniformity benefits by ensuring the concentration of active ingredients through qualitative analysis of secondary metabolites, ensuring the safety and stability aspects of extracts and increasing the economic value of extracts by various analyses such as specific and non-specific parameters. This study aims to standardization bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) and determine the value of specific and non-specific parameters of. Samples were obtained from Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province, macerated with 96% ethanol then standardized with specific and non-specific parameters. The results of the study obtained specific parameter values as follows; organoleptic tests obtained extracts in the form of viscous, light brown in color, characteristic smell and very bitter taste; The content of soluble compounds in water is 14.361%; the content of soluble compounds in ethanol is 15.708%; positively contains flavanoid compounds, alkaloids and saponins; and the value of non-specific parameters as follows: drying shrinkage which is 0.439%; specific weight of 0.859 grams; moisture content of 2.589%; total ash content of 4.216%, insoluble ash content of acid which is 0.630%; The mold number is < 1.0 x 101 colonies/ml and the yeast is < 1.0 101 colonies/ml; lead metal contamination (Pb) is 0.003 g / g and cadmium (Cd) is 0.01 g / g. Research shows bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) provides results according to the general standard parameters of medicinal plant extracts.
