Abstract

Tanaman pecut kuda Stachytarpheta jamaeicensis termasuk tumbuhan berpotensi antikanker, antiinflamasi dan antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuktikan adanya  aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun pecut kuda terhadap DPPH dengan metode KLT-autografi. Metode penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimen laboratorium bersifat kualitatif terdiri dari  ekstraksi sampel dengan etanol-air 70% secara maserasi, ekstrak kental dipurifikasi dan dibebas klorofil dan lemak, kemudian difraksinasi dengan etil asetat. Selanjutnya  diidentifikasi kandungan kimia secara KLT menggunakan pereaksi spesifik : Dragendorf, Liberman-Buchard, Sitroborat, dan FeCl3.. Tahap  terakhir dilakukan uji aktivitas antioksidan secara KLT autografi terhadap DPPH. Hasil penelitian: identifikasi kandungan kimia ekstrak secara KLT terbukti  mengandung senyawa fenol, flavonoid, dan  steroid/terpen.  Hasil uji KLT antioksidan dengan DPPH terdapat 1 bercak berwarna kuning pada ekstrak etanol-air 70%  (EEA-70%) dengan Rf=0,91 dan 2 bercak pada ekstrak etil asetat terpurifikasi (EEAT) dengan Rf= 0,75, dan Rf=0,54 yang dapat menghambat radikal bebas DPPH. Kesimpulan: Daun pecut kuda   berpotensi digunakan sebagai bahan baku obat tradisional untuk antioksidan.

Abstract

Duchesnea indica (jacks. ) focke., known as a medical plant that is used as raw ingredients for traditional medicines and herbs to increase the immune system because plants have the properties to cure and prevent various diseases. The objective of this study is to examine the quality of the duchesnea indica leaves extract by standardization method of specific and non specific parameters as well as the toxicity assay using using the Brine Shrimp Letality Test (BSLT). The results of specific parameter research include the identity of extracting duchesnea indica, Organoptic tests form extract samples that are used to extract thick, It's brown, Typical smell, astringent taste. The content of water soluble compounds is 18.67%, the content of ethanol soluble compounds is 0.03%, based in phytochemical screening test, the duchesnea indica leaves extract contain phenolic, flavonoid, tannin, Saponin and terpenoid. Non-specific parameters carried out include loss on drying of grounded Duchesne indica leaves at 0.029%, loss on drying of DuchesneA indica leaves extract at 0.026%, specific gravity determination at 0.83%, extract water content determination of 2.15%, total ash content is 3.70%, non-soluble acid of ash content is 1.32%. Thus, from these results, we can conclude that Duchesne indica leaf extract meets quality standards for extracting raw materials that can be used for traditional medicine. Research results: The standardized ethanol extract of duchesnea indica leaves is toxic to Artemia salina leach larvae.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of degenerative diseases, cancer and other non-communicable diseases is due to exposure to free radicals, so that currently research on antioxidants is increasingly being carried out. This research aims to prove the relationship between antioxidant activity and extraction solvents of different polarities in reducing DPPH radicals ((1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl) from horse whip (DPK) leaves (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis L.) from North Kolaka district. The research was carried out using a post test only control experiment. Samples were extracted by maceration with 96% ethanol solvent and n-hexane solvent, then each extract was evaporated using a rotary evaporator, the thick extract was screened for phytochemicals with a second color reagent. The extract was tested for antioxidants against DPPH and measured absorbance using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 515 nm, and compared with the quercetin standard. The results of the phytochemical screening showed the content of anthraquinone glycosides, phenols, and flavonoids for the DPK ethanol extract, while the hexane extract contained alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, tannins and steroids. The antioxidant activity of DPK extract can capture DPPH free radicals with the IC50 value of 96% ethanol extract being 12.17 μg/mL and hexane extract being 5.904 μg/mL. Both extracts are classified as very strong antioxidants like quercetin. There is a relationship between the extraction solvent and the antioxidant ability of HWL extract which is significant at p < 0.05, while the relationship between quercetin, ethanol extract and hexane extract significantly influences the antioxidant ability. Abstrak Meningkatnya prevalensi penyakit degeneratif, kanker, dan penyakit tidak menular lainnya diakibatkan adanya paparan radikal bebas, sehingga saat ini penelitian antioksidan semakin banyak dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan adanya hubungan aktivitas antioksidan dengan pelarut ekstraksi yang berbeda kepolaran dalam meredam radikal DPPH ((1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl) dari ekstrak etanol 96% dan ekstrak heksan daun pecut kuda (DPK) (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis L.) asal kabupaten Kolaka Utara. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan post test only control eksperiment. Sampel diekstraksi secara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%, dan pelarut n-heksan, kemudian tiap-tiap ekstrak dievaporasi menggunakan rotavapor, ekstrak kental diskrining fitokimia dengan pereaksi warna. Uji peredaman radikal bebas ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 1; 2; 3; 4 dan 5 μg/mL diukur absorbansinya dengan spektrofometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 515 nm, dan dibandingkan dengan standar kuersetin. Hasil skrining fitokimia didapatkan kandungan glikosida antrakinon, fenol, flavonoid untuk ekstrak etanol DPK, sedangkan ekstrak heksan mengandung alkaloid, fenol, flavonoid, tanin, dan steroid. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak DPK dapat meredam radikal bebas DPPH dengan nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol 96% adalah 12,17 μg/mL dan ekstrak heksan adalah 5,904 μg/mL. Kedua ekstrak tergolong antioksidan sangat kuat seperti kuersetin. Terdapat hubungan antara pelarut ekstraksi dengan kemampuan antioksidan ekstrak DPK yang signifikan pada p < 0,05, sedangkan hubungan antara kuersetin, ekstrak etanol dan ekstrak heksan secara signifikan berpengaruh dengan kemampuan antioksidan.

Abstract

Free radicals can be formed through normal cell metabolism events, malnutrition and as a result of responses to external influences such as pollution and ultraviolet rays. Free radicals can cause premature aging, therefore antioxidants are needed to prevent premature aging. Avocado folium (Persea americana M.) contain secondary metabolite compounds, namely alkaloids, saponins, tannins, glycosides and flavonoids in the form of quercetin, where flavonoid compounds can act as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of avocado leaf extract (P. americana M), using the (2,2-dihphenyl-1-picrylhdrazil) (DPPH)  method. The sample used in this research was avocado folium obtained from Southeast Maluku, Maluku Province). DPPH method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 514 nm. The antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of avocado folium in this test is 112.410 µg / mL. The results of this study show that avocado folium extract has moderate antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Tumbuhan berkhasiat obat sudah banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat indonesia sebagai pengobatan alternatif utama suatu penyakit dan masyarakat mempercayai bahwa obat tradisional mampu mengobati penyakit berat hingga ringan. Penelitian ini tujuannya untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis tanaman yang digunakan untuk obat tradisional serta cara pengolahan, cara penggunaan dan nilai use value (UV) di masyarakat Kecamatan Malunda Kabupaten Majene. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan memanfaatkan metode kualitatif serta penentuan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling serta didapatkan 25 responden. Hasil penelitian mengenai tanaman obat yang dipakai oleh Masyarakat di Kecamatan Malunda Kabupaten Majene diperoleh 24 jenis tanaman mampu mengobati 13 jenis penyakit. Bagian tanaman yang paling rutin dimanfaatkan yakni daun dengan persentase (57%), cara pengolahan yang paling rutin dilakukan yakni direbus dengan persentase (71%), kemudian cara penggunaan yang paling sering digunakan yakni diminum dengan persentase sejumlah (81%). Dari hasil perhitungan nilai use value (UV) yaitu tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang paling banyak dimanfaatkan yakni kunyit (Curcuma domestika L.) dan sirsak (Annona muricata L.) dengan nilai use value (UV) masing-masing adalah 0,2. Abstract

Pecut kuda adalah tanaman liar yang banyak tumbuh di Indonesia dan masih belum banyak dibudidayakan, meskipun aktivitas antioksidannya sangat tinggi, serta berpeluang sebagai antiinflamasi dan antikanker, namun variasi kondisi lingkungan tumbuh pada  tumbuhan liar, memungkinkan terjadinya perbedaan kandungan kimia. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui nilai rendemen dan komposisi golongan kimia ekstrak daun pecut kuda (EPK) berdasarkan lama ekstraksi hasil ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE). Daun pecut kuda diekstraksi menggunakan etanol 70% dengan metode UAE pada dua waktu ekstraksi berbeda, yaitu  ekstraksi dengan lama UAE selama 2 jam (EPK-A), dan ekstraksi dengan lama UAE tiap 15 menit selama 2 jam (EPK-B), hasil ekstrak kental yang diperoleh dianalisis fitokimia secara kolorimetri dengan reagen spesifik. Perbedaan nilai rendemen ekstrak dianalisis secara kualitatif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai  rendemen EPK-A =34,18 % dan EPK-B = 31,56 % sedangkan analisis fitokimia  EPK-A dan EPK-B diperoleh golongan senyawa yang sama, yaitu : alkaloid, fenol, tannin, flavonoid, dan saponin. Perbedaan lama waktu ekstraksi dengan metode UAE dari daun pecut kuda mempengaruhi nilai rendemen EPK, namun tidak berpengaruh pada kandungan kimianya. Kata kunci: Analisa Fitokimia, Ekstraksi Ultrasonik, Lama Ekstraksi, Rendemen, Stachytarpeta jamaicensis     Horsewhip is a wild plant that grows widely in Indonesia and is still not widely cultivated, even though its antioxidant activity is very high, and has the potential to act as an anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agent. Still, variations in the environmental conditions in which wild plants grow allow for differences in chemical content. This research aims to determine the yield value and chemical composition of horsewhip leaf extract (EPK) based on ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) time. Horsewhip leaves were extracted using 70% ethanol using the UAE method at two different extraction times, namely extraction with a UAE duration of 2 hours (EPK-A) and extraction with a UAE duration of every 15 minutes for 2 hours (EPK-B), the extract results The viscosity obtained was analyzed phytochemically colorimetrically with specific reagents. Differences in extract yield values ​​were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the yield value of EPK-A = 34.18% and EPK-B = 31.56%. At the same time, phytochemical analysis of EPK-A and EPK-B obtained the same group of compounds, namely alkaloids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, and saponins. The difference in extraction time using the UAE method from horsewhip leaves affects the EPK yield value but does not affect the chemical content. Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu permasalahan gizi kronis yang masih menjadi tantangan serius di Indonesia, terutama di daerah pedesaan. Desa Damai, Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan, memiliki prevalensi stunting yang cukup tinggi dengan rendahnya konsumsi sayuran pada anak sebagai salah satu faktor penyebab. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan kelompok PKK Desa Damai melalui inovasi pengolahan sayuran menjadi VegeGum (gummy sayuran) sebagai alternatif pangan fungsional pencegah stunting. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan ibu PKK dalam memproduksi VegeGum secara higienis, peningkatan kesadaran gizi masyarakat, serta terbentuknya potensi usaha kecil berbasis pangan sehat. Program ini berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian SDGs, khususnya poin 2 (Zero Hunger) dan poin 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

Abstract

Bagore plant (Caesalpinia crista L.) belongs to the tribe Leguminosae and grows wild on the coast. Standardization is important to guarantee potency uniformity benefits by ensuring the concentration of active ingredients through qualitative analysis of secondary metabolites, ensuring the safety and stability aspects of extracts and increasing the economic value of extracts by various analyses such as specific and non-specific parameters. This study aims to standardization bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) and determine the value of specific and non-specific parameters of. Samples were obtained from Binuang District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province, macerated with 96% ethanol then standardized with specific and non-specific parameters. The results of the study obtained specific parameter values as follows; organoleptic tests obtained extracts in the form of viscous, light brown in color, characteristic smell and very bitter taste; The content of soluble compounds in water is 14.361%; the content of soluble compounds in ethanol is 15.708%; positively contains flavanoid compounds, alkaloids and saponins; and the value of non-specific parameters as follows: drying shrinkage which is 0.439%; specific weight of 0.859 grams; moisture content of 2.589%; total ash content of 4.216%, insoluble ash content of acid which is 0.630%; The mold number is < 1.0 x 101 colonies/ml and the yeast is < 1.0 101 colonies/ml; lead metal contamination (Pb) is 0.003 g / g and cadmium (Cd) is 0.01 g / g. Research shows bagore seed extract (Caesalpinia crista L.) provides results according to the general standard parameters of medicinal plant extracts. Abstract

Lannea coromandelica (Houtt.) Merr is one of the plants that hast he potential to have free antiradical activity. The research aimed to compare the free antiradical activity of methanol extract of the bark and leaves of Lannea coromandelica (Houtt.) Merr using the free radical reduction method 1.1 diphenhyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH). The bark nd the leaves extract of the tree were obtained by maceration using methanol. The methanol extract preliminary tests were conducted by TLC using n-hexane: ethyl acetate (9 : 1) and ( 7: 3). The positive results for free antiradical aoctivity marked with purple to yellow spots after DPPH spraying was obtained. The thick bark and leaves extract were then quantitatively tested for free antiradical activity to obtain lC50 values using spectrophotometry at the maximum wavelength of 516 nm. The results of data analysis showed that methanol extract of its bark and leaves had lC50 of 20.778 µg / mL and 19.819 µg / mL, with ascorbic acid as a comparison having an lC50 value of 6.816 µg / mL. So it can be concluded that the methanol extract of the leaves of"Lannea coromandelica (Houtt) Merr has stronger anti-radical activity than its bark.
