Abstract

Rayap adalah serangga sosial yang hidup dalam suatu komunitas yang dikenal dengan istilah koloni. Aktivitas rayap sebagai hama pada tanaman perkebunan, pertanian, kehutanan, maupun pada bangunan gedung terjadi ketika habitat alami mengalami perubahan cukup drastis yang menyebabkan spesies rayap tertentu harus menyesuaikan diri terhadap perubahan tersebut. Salah satu jenis tanaman perkebunan yang dapat terserang rayap adalah tanaman karet. Tujuan Penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis spesies rayap di perkebunan karet di desa Naga Beralih Kecamatan Kampar Utara Kabupaten Kampar, Riau. Pengumpulan rayap dilakukan di tiga transek di perkebunan karet di desa Naga Beralih. Transek sepanjang 100 m dan setiap transek dibuat 10 subplot (1 m x 1 m) dengan interval 10 m. Rayap dikumpulkan dengan menggali masing-masing subplot hingga kedalaman 10 cm. Terdapat enam spesies rayap yang ditemukan yaitu Bulbitermes sp., Nasutitermes sp., Capritermes sp., Macrotermes sp., Schedorhinotermes sp dan Coptotermes sp.

Abstract

In the Sialang Sakti Village, Pekanbaru City, there is a group of women that used to conduct a household scale fish culture activities specifically catfish nursery (Pangasius hypopthalmus). Most of them using a simple earthen pond. They did not apply any modern technique in culturing the fish. To improve the ability of the women community in culturing fish, a dissemination of environmental friendly fish culture technique was conducted specifically catfish nursery. Slides and a simple manual book for catfish nursery in fish culture was used during the training. The community were also trained to construct tarp ponds, feeding, rearing and managing the water quality in the pond. Twenty five women that were belonged to “PKK” group attended the training. Before the training, their knowledge on fish nursery was very low, but after the training, their knowledge improved by 85%. Results of monitoring and evaluation activities shown that the women from the PKK group were able to catfish nursery with simple earthen pond and sustainable.

Abstract

Household waste is an environmental problem that has the potential to be very dangerous if alternative solutions are not found to reduce it. One of the household wastes that is often found is egg shells. This waste is often found in cake sellers, restaurants, households and laying hen farms. This waste is often found in cake sellers, restaurants, households and laying hen farms. Generally, Indonesian egg shells have not been managed properly so people only throw them away or store them in empty areas in village areas. The aim of community service is 1) a solution for managing egg shells as organic fertilizer, 2) Providing training regarding the use of egg shell waste as organic fertilizer. The method used is direct outreach and training with the vegetable cultivating community. The materials used are cassava leaves, animal waste, fruit waste, EM4 and palm sugar. The results of community service activities for vegetable cultivators show good results. The organic fertilizer solution that has been mixed with various other supporting materials is then put into a bottle and tightly closed, then fermented for up to 10 days at a temperature of 40°C. After 10 days, liquid organic fertilizer is put into packaging bottles. The organic fertilizer produced can be used directly by the cultivating community.

Abstract

Perkebunan kopi tadah hujan mengandalkan suplai air hujan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air tanaman kopi, sehingga ketersediaan air dalam tanah sangat penting. Sementara itu, pengukuran dan pemantauan ketersediaan air dalam tanah memerlukan waktu dan biaya yang mahal, sehingga diperlukan metode yang murah, cepat dan akurat untuk memantau status ketersediaan air tanah pada perkebunan kopi. Soil Moisture Index (SMI) merupakan metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menaksir status kelembaban tanah dengan menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh untuk menaksir nilai NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) dan LST (land surface temperature). Indeks NDVI dan LST digunakan untuk menaksir SMI pada suatu lokasi tertentu, seperti perkebunan kopi.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis (1) SMI (soil moisture index), LST, dan NDVI, (2) hubungan antara SMI (Remote sensing) dan SMI (Field survey), dan (3) hubungan antara SMI, NDVI dan produksi kopi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) indeks kelembaban tanah (IMT) perkebunan kopi Bangelan pada fase pematangan buah kopi tergolong “Sedang” hingga “Tinggi”. (2) indeks kerapatan vegetasi (NDVI) perkebunan kopi Bangelan pada fase pematangan buah kopi tergolong “Sedang” hingga “Tinggi”. (3) Metode SMI-Remote dapat digunakan untuk menduga kelembaban tanah perkebunan kopi, menggantikan metode SMI-Field. (4) SMI-Remote dan NDVI pada fase pematangan buah kopi merupakan prediktor yang baik untuk menduga produksi kopi pada saat panen. Persamaan regresinya adalah: Prod = 19857,69 +16049,00 IMTremote + 4096,26 NDVI (R^2 = 0,8173; Sig F = 0,0000005).
