Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis: (1) Karakteristik nelayan pada alat tangkap payang di Selat Madura, (2) Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan melaut pada ekonomi rumah tangga nelayan, (3) Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap nilai pengeluaran pada ekonomi rumah tangga nelayan, (4) Peluang kemiskinan akibat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemiskinan nelayan. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini, yaitu nelayan dengan alat tangkap payang di Selat Madura menggunakan simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Karakteristik nelayan berdasarkan umur sekitar 39,39% pada umur 41-50 tahun, sedangkan tingkat pendidikan nelayan didominasi pada tingkat sekolah dasar (SD) dengan prosentase 63,64%. Berdasarkan pengalaman melaut, sekitar 39,4% pada kisaran 21-30 tahun sedangkan untuk jumlah anggota keluarga nelayan didominasi tidak lebih dari tiga orang dengan prosentase 54,55%. Sedangkan status istri nelayan yang bekerja sekitar 45,45%, (2) Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan melaut adalah pendidikan nelayan, pengalaman melaut, dan daya mesin, (3) Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pengeluaran rumah tangga nelayan adalah jumlah anggota keluarga, (4) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi peluang kemiskinan nelayan adalah umur nelayan, pendidikan, dan pengalaman melaut. Bertambahnya umur nelayan akan meningkatkan peluang kemiskinan, namun meningkatnya faktor pendidikan nelayan dan pengalaman melaut akan menurunkan peluang kemiskinan dalam rumah tangga nelayan. Kata kunci: kemiskinan, nelayan payang, pendapatan melaut, pengeluaran rumah tangga, selat Madura.

Abstract

The increasing volume of municipal solid waste resulting in the frequency and transportation costs on the temporary disposal station is increasing. This recent study is to examine the cost model based on the speed of the vehicle transporting waste using Dump Truck types from TPS to TPA with various brands of vehicles. This study applies survey method in which the researchers investigated the distance, time and volume of the waste transported by the entire fleet. The results of Model Municipal Solid Waste Transportation Costs obtained equation: Y = 7,66x2 – 580,81x + 15454,79 in whichY variable indicates the transportation cost (Rupiah/m3) and X variable shows the speed (km/ h). Cost of transporting waste to urban areas at optimum speeds obtain 37.91 Km/hour with minimum waste transportation costs Rp 4.445, -/m3.

Abstract

Rainfall simulator is important for studying hydrology and erosion in laboratory.  The most important parameter for studying the performance of rainfall simulator is rain intensity, drop size distribution, drop mass, drop impact velocity, and kinetic energy.  They are evaluated by uniformity coefficient (UC) and distribution uniformity (DU). This research was aimed to study the functional performance of rainfall simulator including determination of the correlation between pressure with rainfall parameters (rain intensity, drop size distribution, and kinetic energy) and rainfall simulator performance evaluation based on uniformity coefficient and distribution uniformity.  The data was analyzed by using linear regression and evaluated by uniformity coefficient and distribution uniformity.The result showed that pressure had linear relationship with rain intensity, diameter drop distribution, drop impact velocity, dropped mass, and kinetic energy.  The coefficient uniformity (CU) of the pressure 2.5 psi-6.5 psi  more than 80% and the distribution uniformity (DU) more than 70%. The rainfall simulator had better performance at the pressure of 2.5 psi than 6.5 psi.Keywords: rainfall, simulator, performance

Abstract

Abstract. Coconut plantation is very dominating in South Minahasa regency seen from its production of 49,907.33 tons in 2010. The land under coconut trees can be used for food crops or forage. The waste from food crops is the source of animal feed, while the livestock’s manure is used to improve soil fertility under coconut tree. The research objective was to analyse the carrying capacity of the agro-ecosystem of coconut-cattle. Regency and district were determined purposively. A total of 86 farmers as respondents were determined based on the ownership of at least 2 cattle and cattle selling experience. Data were analyzed using effective potential of livestock development and land capability index (IDD). The result showed that the maximum potential of land resources (PMSL) was 30,872.94 animal unit (AU). The capacity increase in cattle population based on the soil resources was 18,208.94 AU. The maximum potential based on farmer house holds was 127,023.00 AU. The value of land capability index was 2.14. The conclusion was South Minahasa Regency was still potential for cattle development regarding land resources or workforce potentials. Development of cattle can be integrated with the coconut to maintain and improve agro-ecosystem sustainability of coconut plantation.Keywords: cattle, carrying capacity, agro-ecosystem, coconutAnimal Production 14(1):56-62, January 2012

With the end modernism life cycle, then appear a new merk, postmodernisme have 3 version organization theory that is postbureaucacy, philosophy meddling with periodic and de differentiation. Based on the tend of democratic model which ove continue, so the Z theory is an organization theory, which is the form of integration organization theory and supportif model with kolegial, between the typical of success Japans company and Americans culture, is a postmodernisme organization which the form and the concrete democratic characteristic from postmodernisme perspectif. Postmodernisme and the Z theory is interrelated together, without put asied with the weakness.

Abstract

Penyakit demam tifoid yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Salmonella (S) Typhosa masih merupakan problema kesehatan terutama di negara yang sedang berkembang termasuk Indonesia. Pada patogenesis terjadinya bakteriemi dan mengenai pelekatan bakteri tersebut terhadap sel endotel masih belum ada kejelasan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan pelekatan S.typhosa dan bobot molekul reseptornya pada sel endotel. Penelitian ini dikerjakan dengan memakai Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Culture (HUVEC), sedangkan sebagai model sel pelekat bakteri yang digunakan adalah model indeks adhesi. Untuk mengetahui indeks adhesi dilakukan pemaparan S.typhosa terhadap HUVEC. Matriks ekstraseluler  diekstrasi dengan cara solubiliasi HUVEC dengan larutan N-Octyl-β-D Glucopyranoside (NOG) 0,05%. Penentuan bobot molekul matriks sektraseluler yang dikerjakan dengan SDS-PAGE ternyata memiliki bobot 66kDa. Pemurnian protein matriks ekstrak seluler dipakai cara elektroelusi. Ketentuan bobot molekul reseptor ditentukan dengan evaluasi korelasi anatara indeks adhesi bakteri dengan dosis protein molekul reseptor yag diencerkan setengahnya secara seri yang dilekatkan pada HUVEC. Kesimpulan dari evaluasi tersebut dengan menggunakan tes korelasi menunjukkan bobot molekul matriks ekstrak seluler 66kDa HUVEC merupakan molekul reseptornya S.typhosa M223 (p<0,05).

Abstract

AbstractBackground:. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD) have increasing incidence, due to lifespan expansion. The association between PD and Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is uncommon, and so far, since 1987, 26 cases have been reported.Case presentation: This is a report of a 70-year-old man was referred into the hospital with ptosis, disfagia and dispnea. He was diagnosed with Suspected Myasthenia Gravis, Post Stroke Trombotik, Parkinson’s Disease and Hypertension. The patient was admitted to the outpatient unit, received of treatment Pyridostigmine, Clopidogrel, Trihexylphenidil, Vitamine B1, Vitaminie B6, Vitamine B12 and Levodopa-Benserazide .Discussion: Treatment guidelines by using some guidelines are also drug doses and do not have adverse side reactions during treatment.Conclusion:. PD and MG very rarely occur together. case report or a series of brief cases reported in the literature, it is very important not to miss the diagnosis of MG in patients with PD, because the treatment implications are very important and greatly influence the prognosis. More basic research needs to be done to understand the pathogenesis of both diseases, to provide more therapeutic options and possibly change the approach of the patient, whose quality of life is determined by these two neurological diseases, which have an increased impact on increasing disabilityKey words: Parkinson disease; Myasthenia gravis; co‐occurrence; case report.

Abstract

Coffee plants (Coffea sp.) are among the most popular plantation crops for farmers in Wajak District. However, the soil condition in Wajak District is dominated by sandy soil, which can trigger soil sensitivity to high erosion potential. A mitigation effort for the declining of coffee production in the Wajak District can be made through the estimation of the soil erodibility index. This study aimed to suspect the soil erodibility index and obtain the relationship of soil erodibility index to coffee production on smallholder coffee plantations in Wajak District, Malang Regency. The methods of determining land boundaries with land map units (SPL) were land use, soil type, and slope. The parameters used were soil texture (M), organic matter (a), structure (b), and permeability (c) to determine erodibility, as well as coffee beans for coffee production analysis. Statistical analysis of data was in the form of correlation tests and data regression tests. The results of the data analysis showed that the highest wet weight of coffee fruit was found in SPL 8 with plantation land use, Typic Hapludands soil type and land slope of 8-15%. The wet weight value of coffee fruit at SPL 8 is 2.18 t ha-1 with an erodibility value of 0.37. While the lowest wet weight of coffee beans was found in SPL 2 with moor land use, Andic Eutrudepts soil type and land slope of 8-15%. The average wet weight value of coffee beans at SPL 2 was 0.12 t ha-1 with an erodibility value of 0.26.

Abstract

One of the efforts to manage the risk of ground movement is to identify landslide-prone area characteristics. This study aimed to investigate the geophysical, geotechnical, and vegetation characteristics of landslide and non-landslide areas. This study adopted the resistivity geoelectric method to identify the type and structure of subsurface materials in landslide and non-landslide regions in Pujon and Ngantang, Malang Regency. Measurements in this study were done in four locations. Each geoelectric measurement path at each location was determined to be 100 m long. The electrodes were spaced apart by 10 m for measurements between the current electrode and the potential electrode. The dipole-dipole configuration of the geoelectric survey trajectory is determined based on the former landslide event to predict underground material. In addition, an investigation of geological, geotechnical, and vegetation characteristics was carried out. The results showed that the geophysical, soil, and vegetation characteristics of the landslide and non-landslide slopes were similar. The geophysical characteristics of the soil in all study locations indicate the presence of a slipping surface, which makes the land prone to landslides. The slipping plane was formed due to differences in the types of rocks between the surface and deep layers. The existence of vegetation has an important role in landslide management. Non-landslide areas tended to have denser tree vegetation and a higher number of shrub species.
