Abstract

This research aims to describe markers of grammatical cohesion contained in the novel Katresnan by Soeratman Sastradihardja, and markers of lexical cohesion contained in the novel Katresnan by Soeratman Sastradihardja. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The source of research data is the novel Katresnan by Soeratman Sastradihardjo. The data for this research are sentences containing grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion in the novel Katresnan by Soeratman Sastrodihardja. Data collection techniques use listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the main instrument, assisted by discourse books, books that support research and data recording notes. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques. The data analysis presentation technique uses informal presentation techniques. The results of the research are: forms of grammatical aspect cohesion markers include: references consisting of referring to person I, referring to person II, referring to person III; Demonstrative reference consists of time and place demonstratives; comparative referencing; substitution (replacement); ellipsis (dissolution) and conjunction (series) consisting of causal conjunctions, conflicting conjunctions, exception conjunctions, concessive conjunctions, additional conjunctions, choice conjunctions, expectation conjunctions, sequence conjunctions, time conjunctions, and conditional conjunctions. The forms of lexical aspect markers include; The repetitions found were epizeuksis repetition, tautotes repetition, anaphora repetition, epistrophe repetition, mesodiplosis repetition, synonyms (similar words), antonyms (opposite words), collocations (opposite words) and equivalence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning steps using make a match learning strategy to improve Javanese script writing skills in class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik Magelang and to improve Javanese script writing skills in class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik by using make a match strategy. This study used a class action research design which was carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The object of this research was the students of class VIII B SMPN 3 Satu Atap Kaliangkrik Magelang totaling 34 students. Data collection used test and non-test techniques. Qualitative descriptive technique was used to analyze the data of Javanese script writing skills using make a match learning method. The results showed that the steps in learning using two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. In cycle I and cycle II using the make a match method to improve the ability to write Javanese characters. Students' activeness in learning to write Javanese characters using the make a match method shows an increase in students' motivation and interest in writing using Javanese characters. Students become more active and willing to ask questions related to material that has not been understood. The ability to write Javanese script for students in class VIII B in the 2021/2022 school year using the make a match method has increased significantly. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in the average ability to write Javanese characters from cycle I of 65.49 and increased to 81.25.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the rhetorical and figurative language styles in geguritan (traditional poetry forms in Javanese) collection of Djaka Lodang magazine in February-May 2014 edition. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection used documentation technique. Data analysis used descriptive method. The result of the research shows that the language style in the collection of geguritan of Djaka Lodang magazine in February-May 2014 edition consists of rhetorical language style from 69 geguritan including: alliteration, assonance, anastrophe, apostrophe, asindenton, polysindenton, periphrasis, chiasmus, ellipsis, euphemism, hysteron proteron, pleonasm and tautology, erotesis, silepsis, correction, and hyperbole. The figurative language styles of the 69 geguritan include: simile, metaphor, personification, epithet, synecdoke, metonymy, antonomasia, irony, cynicism, sarcasm, and paranomasia. The collection of geguritan in the February-May 2014 edition of Djaka Lodang magazine illustrates that stylistic elements in a poem can add an aesthetic touch and enrich the meaning.
