Abstract

Yayasan Arah Pemuda Indonesia organised a community empowerment activity with the theme pengabdi muda #5. Pengabdi Muda #5 has a series of activities that serve to optimise the capabilities of volunteers so that they have provisions in carrying out community empowerment. This research uses the learning outcomes capability theory from Robert Mills Gagne and the 7 stages of proposition proposed by Isbandi Rukminto Adi. The theory will dissect the process of developing volunteer capabilities at Arah Pemuda Indonesia Foundation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and interviews. This study found that the series of community empowerment activities of youth service #5 can optimise volunteer capabilities. The implementation stage is the most important stage that can develop volunteer capabilities. Pengabdi Muda #5 activities are still limited in carrying out community empowerment because the stages of empowerment and capacity building are not optimal, but the awareness stage has been carried out and is a very good agent of change.

Abstract

Abstract. Maize plays a significant role in the global economy, however this does not always correlate with the welfare of maize farmers, particularly in developing countries. Farmers often frequently encounter obstacles such as restricted access to markets that offer fair prices, and difficulties in securing adequate capital to support their agricultural activities. In this context, PT. J. aims to provide solutions to these constraints by facilitating fair market access and offering capital support to farmers. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of farmers in Blora District regarding the services provided by PT. J. and their impact on the farmers' welfare. This research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data collection methods include observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The data analysis follows an interactive model consisting of four concurrent stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data is ensured through triangulation of both data and sources. Informants for this study include three farmers and three partners. The findings indicate that farmers hold a positive perception of PT. J.’s presence, particularly with respect to improved access to capital, enhanced marketing opportunities, and increased knowledge facilitated through the J Application platform. Keywords: Farmer; Agritech company; Farmers’ Perceptions. Abstrak. Komoditas jagung memiliki peran yang sangat signifikan dalam perekonomian global, namun hal ini tidak selalu berbanding lurus dengan kesejahteraan petani jagung, khususnya di negara-negara berkembang. Petani sering kali menghadapi kendala utama seperti terbatasnya akses terhadap pasar yang menawarkan harga layak, serta kesulitan dalam memperoleh permodalan yang memadai untuk mendukung aktivitas pertanian mereka. Dalam konteks ini, PT. J hadir dengan tujuan untuk memberikan solusi terhadap kendala-kendala tersebut melalui fasilitasi akses pasar yang adil dan penyediaan dukungan permodalan bagi para petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi petani di Kabupaten Blora terhadap layanan yang disediakan oleh PT. J serta dampak layanan tersebut terhadap kesejahteraan petani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui model interaktif yang mencakup empat tahapan: pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data melalui triangulasi data dan triangulasi sumber. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga orang petani dan tiga mitra PT. J. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa petani memiliki persepsi positif akan hadirnya PT. J., terutama dalam hal akses permodalan, pemasaran, serta peningkatan pengetahuan melalui platform Aplikasi J. Kata Kunci: Petani, Perusahaan Agritech, Persepsi Petani.

Abstract

The development of technology and digitalization has encouraged various institutions, including university libraries, to utilize digital platforms such as YouTube as promotional tools. This study analyzes the representation of the Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) library in the promotional video titled "Peresmian Gedung Pusat Informasi dan Perpustakaan Universitas Negeri Padang" (Inauguration of the Information and Library Center Building of Universitas Negeri Padang) uploaded on the UNP TV YouTube channel. Using a qualitative approach, the research applies reception analysis based on Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory. The findings indicate that the video represents the library as a place for studying and discussion, a quiet space, with stereotypical depictions of librarians, a collection limited to books, and a sense of suspicion toward library users. The researcher concludes that this representation fails to reflect the functions of a modern library, which should also encompass social spaces, digital collections, and a friendly relationship with users. The researcher adopts a negotiated and oppositional stance on certain elements of the video, particularly regarding the portrayal of librarians, the library atmosphere, and the featured collection. The study concludes that promotional videos for libraries should reflect inclusivity, trust, and modernity to project a positive institutional image and attract more library users.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara dengan wilayah perairan dan bentang pantai yang sangat luas di dunia. Namun, kekayaan alam ini pada kenyataanya belum membuat para nelayan sejahtera. Banyak dari nelayan yang masih hidup dalam kategori miskin. Untuk itu, pemberdayaan nelayan diperlukan untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Artikel ini mengkaji upaya pemberdayaan nelayan dengan fokus pada masyarakat nelayan di Jepara yang mengembangkan Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) Berkah Samudera untuk meningkatkan keberdayaan mereka secara ekonomi dan lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif, artikel ini mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perspektif teori pemberdayaan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dalam upaya meningkatkan keberdayaan diri mereka, masyarakat nelayan Jepara melalui KUB Berkah Samudera melakukan tiga tahapan pemberdayaan: penyadaran anggota akan potensi yang dimiliki dan pentingnya terus bergerak sebagai sebuah kelompok; peningkatan kapasitas dengan memberikan pelatihan-pelatihan yang menunjang kegiatan nelayan dan keluarganya secara individu maupun sebagai anggota kelompok; dan pendayaan anggota dengan mengupayakan keberdayaan mereka baik dari aspek ekonomi dan sosial.Indonesia is known as a country with vast sea zones and seashores in the world. However, this remarkable natural resource has not brought prosperity to the country’s fishermen and other coastal communities. Most of them live in poverty. Therefore, empowering fishermen and coastal communities is highly needed to overcome the poverty facing them. This article studies the empowerment of fishermen in Indonesia by focusing on the fishermen community in Jepara, which developed efforts to get themselves empowered, known as Kelompok Usaha Bersama Berkah Samudera, in dealing with economic and environmental problems facing them. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method, this study collected the required data through interviews and observation. Data analysis was conducted with the empowerment concept as a theoretical framework. The findings show that in their efforts to empower themselves, the fishermen community in Jepara developed three stages of empowerment: making the fishermen aware of their potential and the importance of the unity among themselves, building capacity through training and activities which were useful and relevant to their needs, and empowering the fishermen in their social and economic lives.

Abstract

The waters of Dumai City, Riau Province, serve as an international transportation route with a strategic position in economic and industrial growth. Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 819 of 2018 was issued to regulate shipping zones and ensure the safety of port service users. However, this regulation has sparked numerous complaints from the public, particularly fishermen, due to livelihood restrictions that directly increase operational costs. To address these negative reactions, the Dumai Port Authority Office (KSOP) plays a significant role by implementing various measures in enforcing Ministerial Regulation No. 819 of 2018. This study aims to understand the communication strategies used by the Dumai Port Authority Office, especially in coordinating with stakeholders. This research uses a qualitative method, gathering data through observation and interviews. The results show that the Dumai Port Authority Office, along with the Class I Dumai Navigation District, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, and PT Wilmar Cahaya Asia, has a strategic role with the ability to influence policy direction and implementation. The Dumai Port Authority Office adopts strategies that involve collaboration with strategic partners, annual outreach programs, the distribution of social assistance and life jackets to the fishing community, and cooperation with relevant agencies and government institutions, including the Water Police, to monitor vessels violating regulations. Additionally, KSOP involves the participation of the community and companies, including the certification and standardization of maritime safety instruments. This study contributes to the discussion on the effectiveness of communication strategies in maritime policy implementation, where this approach can enhance understanding and acceptance of regulations within the maritime community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memberi gambaran kepada masyarakat mengenai poster program silang pinjam antar perpustakaan yang merupakan program dari “Sepatu Jolifa” (Sistem Perpustakaan Terpadu Jogja Library for All). Program ini diinisiasi oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah (DPAD) Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan bekerja sama dengan 49 perpustakaan yang berada di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.  Melalui poster silang pinjam yang disebar DPAD DIY, program silang pinjam antar perpustakaan ‘Sepatu Jolifa’ diklaim dapat melakukan silang pinjam antar perpustakaan yang sudah sepakat untuk bekerja sama, salah satunya adalah Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Gadjah Mada. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan teori resepsi stuart hall. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan semua mahasiswa tidak yakin bahwa silang pinjam antar perpustakaan dapat dilakukan, karena selain ketidaktahuan akan konsep silang pinjam antar perpustakaan yang dilakukan “Sepatu Jolifa”, mereka belum pernah mencoba, dan kurangnya informasi. Sedangkan pustakawan sepakat dengan isi poster silang pinjam antar perpustakaan ‘‘Sepatu Jolifa’’ karena pernah dilakukan di Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada. Stuart Hall's Reception Analysis of the Sepatu Jolifa Interlibrary Loan Cross Poster. This study aims to provide an overview of the inter-library loan program poster, which is a program called "Sepatu Jolifa" (Jogja Library for All Integrated Library System). This program was initiated by the Yogyakarta Special Region Library and Archives Office (DPAD) in collaboration with 49 libraries in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Through cross-borrowing posters distributed by DPAD DIY, the interlibrary loan program “Sepatu Jolifa” is claimed to be able to cross-borrow between libraries that have agreed to cooperate, one of which is the Central Library of Gadjah Mada University. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a Stuart Hall reception theory approach. The results of this study illustrate that all students are not sure that cross-borrowing between libraries can be done because, in addition to ignorance of the concept of cross-borrowing between libraries carried out by "Sepatu Jolifa," they have never tried and lack information. Meanwhile, the librarians agreed with the content of the interlibrary loan poster "Sepatu Jolifa" because it had been done at Gadjah Mada University Library.

Abstract

Ngudi Makmur and Bangun Sejahtera Women Farmers Groups are CSR-funded groups of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga AFT Adi Sumarmo implemented in Sobokerto Village, Ngemplak District, Boyolali Regency. The implementation of the KWT program aims to increase economic potential and human resources and increase social assets in the community. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data extraction by in-depth interviews and observations. The source of data in this research is secondary data obtained from intermediaries through print media, journals, youtube and so on which represent data on the CSR Implementation Program of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga AFT Adi Sumarmo. This research uses the foundation of Sustainable Development Theory to see the implementation of the program to answer community needs in increasing the social assets of the PT Pertamina Patra Niaga AFT Adi Sumarmo fostered group in carrying out community empowerment. The results of this study have an impact on sustainable development that affects social change in the fulfillment of community social assets, in the form of creating collective movements and social cohesion.
