Abstract

The high intensity of use of technological media is increasing rapidly. This encourages teachers to use animation media for learning Arabic in understanding meaning through a contextual learning system. On that basis, this research aims to test the effectiveness of using animation media on understanding meaning through the implementation of contextual learning. This research uses a mix method design with a quantitative approach to test the effectiveness of learning Arabic using animation media, while the qualitative approach serves to analyze the meaning produced by students from animation media based on contextual learning. The data used were the scores of 36 Arabic language and literature study program students at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, while the analysis technique used was a t-test with SPSS 16.00 and Milles and Hubberman theory for qualitative data analysis. The results of the research show that the use of animation media to understand meaning through the implementation of contextual learning is effective in increasing students' grades, while in the process of understanding denotative and connotative meaning there are 15 sentences. Research findings show that the use of animation media can provide students with the opportunity to analyze meaning contextually and creatively in determining the object of study. This research is limited to the use of samples, so the researcher recommends further research to use a research design with more varied objects and samples.

Abstract

Reading is one of the literacy skills set as Indonesia's national education goal and become a necessary skill in the 21st century. The reading skill of students of MTs Al-Hidayah Batu has not met the ideal standard. Achieving reading skills requires adequate vocabulary mastery and selecting appropriate methods. This study was designed to measure the influence of the reading guide method on students' knowledge of Arabic reading skills. The design of this study is quasi-experiments. There are 30 samples taken from a total population of 120 people using the purposive sampling technique. Data collected through tests, questionnaires, and interviews are analyzed using a t-test. The results show that the reading guide method can improve students' reading skills. Proven by the t-test result of the reading ability with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.010 < 0.05. This statistical test implied that Ho was rejected. Ha is accepted, which means that there is a positive influence on the use of the reading guide method in improving students' reading skills, indicated by increasing the ability to read appropriately, mentioning the meaning of vocabulary in the text, answering questions based on the text, summarizing and retelling the content.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the world of education, including Arabic language learning. Arabic, which plays an important role in education and religion, is now increasingly in demand among young people who are familiar with digital technology. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods to explore various technologies that can improve the effectiveness of Arabic language learning for young people. The inclusion criteria in this study include academic literature published between 2015 and 2024 that discusses the application of digital technology in Arabic language learning, while studies that are not relevant to the context of language education or are not technology-based are excluded. The results show that the use of mobile applications such as Duolingo and Memrise, online learning platforms such as Coursera and EdX, and interactive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) not only increase learning flexibility but also strengthen students' immersive and participatory experiences. In addition, the use of educational games, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and social media contributes to increased motivation and independence in learning. Critically, this study highlights that the success of technology implementation is greatly influenced by the readiness of digital infrastructure, teacher competence, and the learning culture in Indonesia, which still tends to be conventional. Thus, the integration of technology in Arabic language learning needs to be accompanied by teacher training, curriculum adaptation, and supporting policies in order to be implemented effectively and sustainably.
