Abstract

Coastal cities with low elevation and mild slopes tend to be more vulnerable to the threat of floods and inundations. Expansion of impermeable areas caused by land conversion greatly diminishes a city’s ability to cope with the threat. Urban drainage systems play a crucial role in controlling excess surface water and reducing the threat of flood and inundation. To maintain an urban drainage system within an optimumcondition and to reduce inundation risk, various types of drainage maintenance activities have been implemented in Tegal. This research was conducted in five inundationproneareas in Tegal to analyze the impact of those maintenance activities to urban drainage conditions andin reducing inundation. GIS and statistical analysis revealed that fromthe numerousurban drainage maintenance activities that have been performed, drainage sediment cleanuphas the most obvious impact on drainage conditions and in reducing inundation.

Abstract

Abstract

The market share of freight transport via railway is quite small, which is below 1% compared to the total volume. Nevertheless, the future potential is quite large, due to the volume growth and government targets in various policy documents. This paper aims to analyze the potential of freight transport via rail in Java. This paper uses a quantitative method with secondary data processing the origin to destination of national travel and service areas of each PT KAI Daop. Analysis results of freight transportation, the largest potential is Daop 1, followed by Daop 3 and 6. The lowest potential is Daop 7, followed by Daop 4 and 9. Daop 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 have higher manufacturing potential, while in Daop 2, 7 and 9 agricultures has a higher volume. If this potential can be transported, the proportion of freight transportation via railway in Java will increase from 0.16% to 0.54% of the total freight transportation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' ability to understand mathematical concepts, which is still relatively low. This research aims to determine the positive and significant influence of the Problem-Based Learning learning model on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research method is quantitative research with a pre-experimental design research type with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used a saturated sampling technique with a sample of 21 students. The instruments used were concept understanding ability tests and observation sheets on implementing teacher learning and student activities. The research results show that students' understanding of mathematical concepts using the Problem-Based Learning learning model has increased significantly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of firm performance, financial distress and complexity on audit report lag with corporate governance mechanisms and audit quality as moderating variables. Firm performance proxy Tobin's and ROA, financial distress proxy Altman's, managerial ownership, board size, and audit quality. The research uses secondary data from 128 companies in Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, which are included in the office of manufacture and mining in the S&P Capital IQ for the period 2018-2022. The sample collection technique uses a purposive sampling method. This research found that company performance and financial distress had no effect, while complexity had an effect on audit report lag. Managerial ownership has an effect on Tobin, financial distress, and complexity on audit report lag, but managerial ownership has no effect on ROA. The size of the board of directors has an effect on Tobin but has no effect on ROA, financial distress, and complexity on audit report lag. Audit quality has no effect on company performance and complexity but does affect financial distress and audit report lag.
