Methods: Pre-experimental research design with a one group pre-test and post-test design carried out in one group without a control group. This research was conducted on January 30 - February 18, 2023. The population in this study were 266 patients who experienced hypertension at the Kenten Palembang Health Center. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 38 respondents. Data collection through the pre-test provided question paper, then the intervention provided education about the hypertension hazard awareness score, then the post-test provided similar questions. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: there is an effect of education about the dash diet on the awareness score of the dangers of hypertension (p value = 0.000). Abstract

Preschool-aged children are those between 3 and 6 years old. At this age, children are very active and often engage in various activities, but their immune systems are still not fully developed. As a result, they are more susceptible to illness and may need to undergo hospital procedures, known as hospitalization. Hospitalization often causes fear in children and can trigger anxiety. If this anxiety is not addressed, it can have negative effects and hinder the child’s care process in the hospital. Storytelling is one method that can be used to help reduce anxiety in children. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of storytelling intervention on the anxiety levels of preschool-aged children undergoing hospitalization. Methods: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test on 32 respondents. Results: The results showed a p-value of 0.001 < α 0.05. The mean anxiety level before the storytelling intervention was 49.5, which decreased to 33 after the intervention. This indicates a reduction in anxiety levels among preschool-aged children following the storytelling intervention.

Abstract

Deep breathing relaxation is one of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be used to help stabilize emotions and lower blood pressure by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. Therefore, this study focuses on the Effectiveness of Deep Breathing Relaxation on Emotional Stability and Blood Pressure in Patients with Mental Disorders and Hypertension in the Inpatient Ward of Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province. This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample was given a pretest (initial observation), followed by the intervention, and then a posttest (final observation). The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and emotional stability at 0.000 (p value = 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that this technique is effective in improving emotional stability and lowering blood pressure. Deep breathing relaxation can be independently practiced by patients during hospitalization or after discharge and can serve as a part of non-pharmacological nursing interventions.
