Abstract

The National Library of Indonesia launched a social inclusion-based library transformation program based on the library for all movement in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning / BAPPENAS. In 2019, all libraries participating in this program totaled 359 public libraries spread across all provinces in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of general librarians in Indonesia towards social inclusion-based library programs that have been implemented for the last two years. Two previous studies related to librarian perception research and the development of social transformation programs are the basis for the development of this research. The population in this study was 2477 librarians who work in public library institutions in Indonesia from various levels ranging from central to the village, while the determination of the research sample was carried out by simple random sampling technique with a confidence level of 94.5% and a margin of error of 5.7% so that 273 respondents were obtained. The research results are expected to provide input on national strategies and policies for the implementation of a social inclusion-based library transformation program.

Abstract

Tujuan pembuatan artikel kajian pustaka ini yaitu memanfaatkan mobile learning dengan menghubungkan pendekatan konstruktivisme agar siswa dapat berkembang dengan baik dan bisa meningkatkan potensi dalam dirinya, dengan itu siswa dapat berkreativitas dengan bebas tanpa ada tekanan dan selalu menggunakan mobile learning dengan bijak. Dalam proses pembelajaran perlu adanya strategi belajar dan juga media yang diperlukan. Strategi belajar yang akan dibahas pada artikel ini yaitu pendekatan konstruktivisme yang merupakan salah satu dari model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL). Pendekatan konstruktivisme merupakan pendekatan yang menekan siswa lebih aktif dengan demikian siswa lebih bebas dan dapat membangun kreativitas siswa secara mandiri maupun bersama-sama (Saefudin, 2008). Seiring berkembangnya teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan media pembelajaran yang digunakan pun semakin bervariasi. Sistem pembelajaran online adalah media pembelajaran yang akan di teliti. Pendekatan pembelajaran mobile merupakan media yang paling efektif dan efisien pada era industri 4.0. Dari pendekatan konstruktivisme berbasis pembelajaran mobile diharapkan siswa dapat meningkatkan kreativitasnya dan menambah pemahaman dari materi yang disampaikan melalui menganalisis dan mencari kesimpulan dari sebuah masalah.Kata Kunci: Konstuktivisme; Inovasi; Mobile Learning; kreativitas AbstractThe purpose of making this literature review article is to utilize mobile learning by linking constructivism approaches so that students can develop well and can increase their potential, with which students can be creative freely without any pressure and always use mobile learning wisely. In the learning process there is a need for learning strategies and also the media needed. The learning strategy that will be discussed in this paper is the constructivism approach which is one of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) learning models. The constructivism approach is a learning approach that invites students to think and construct in solving a problem together so that an accurate solution is obtained. As the development of technology in the world of education the learning media used are even more varied. The learning media used in research are mobile learning systems. Mobile learning systems are the most effective and efficient media in the industrial era 4.0. From the constructivism approach based on the mobile learning system, students are expected to be able to increase their creativity and increase understanding of the material presented through analyzing and finding conclusions from a problem.

Abstract

The campus library is one of the parties responsible for community literacy. Article 4 of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 43 of 2007 states that libraries have to increase the love of reading and expanding knowledge. Library literacy is a sense of familiarity with the resources, services, and organization of library collections. This research focuses on three things: (1) What is the role of literacy ambassadors in increasing community literacy? (2) What is the process of digitizing collections at UIN Banten to increase public literacy? And (3) How are campus library services integrated into increasing community literacy? This research uses qualitative methods focused on elaborating research problem points (Huyler & McGill, 2019). The results of this research are formulated as follows: 1. Literacy Ambassadors are tasked with increasing student literacy awareness, promoting library services, and building a literacy community, 2. Digitalization in the UIN SMH Banten Library prioritizes thesis collections that can be accessed by anyone, 3. Integration of Central and Faculty Library services is carried out by forming a team, training the library staff including involving Literacy Ambassadors, analysing library needs, integrating collection catalogues, establishing policies, and conducting outreach

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Currently, generation Z has become one of the active groups in the world of librarianship. Vita Activa, or active life, refers to human life actively engaged with the material world, including social, cultural, and political affairs. In his book “Cerita Tentang Pustakawan dan Kepustakawanan” (CTPK), Sudarsono argues that librarianship should go beyond administrative tasks in collecting and storing books. This research employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method developed by Fairclough, with a focus on examining the content of librarianship in the book "CTKP" through the lens of Hannah Arendt's Vita Activa theory, encompassing labor, work, and action. Findings at the microstructural level reveal that the book serves as a source of information and inspiration within the discursive material. At the mesostructural level, discourse about the ideal librarianship can motivate librarians who may be feeling pessimistic about their profession, especially those from generation Z. Sudarsono reflects on his personal experiences to assist readers, particularly generation Z, as mentioned in his book. On the macrostructural level, Sudarsono portrays librarianship as a service-oriented profession that requires active efforts in overcoming bureaucratic and institutional political obstacles. In conclusion, librarianship is depicted as a metaphor for life's journey, presenting negative emotional experiences and the author's hopes for young aspiring librarians, including those from generation Z, which are openly interpreted as part of the discursive material. Future research can analyze how generation Z librarians respond to the findings of this study in their daily practices in the field of librarianship.   ABSTRAK Saat ini generasi Z menjadi salah satu kelompok yang aktif dalam dunia kepustakawanan. Kehidupan aktif (Vita Activa) sendiri adalah kehidupan manusia yang terlibat aktif dengan dunia material baik dalam urusan sosial, budaya maupun politik. Dalam karyanya buku Cerita Tentang Pustakawan dan Kepustakawanan (CTKP), Sudarsono berpendapat bahwa kepustakawanan harus melampaui tugas administratif dalam pengumpulan dan penyimpanan pustaka. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode Analisis Wacana Kritis (Critical Discourse Analysis / CDA) yang dikembangkan oleh Fairclough, berfokus untuk mengkaji materi kepustakawanan dalam buku CTKP melalui lensa teori Vita activa Hannah Arendt, mencakup kerja, karya, dan tindakan. Temuan pada tingkat analisis mikrostruktural, buku ini sebagai sumber informasi dan inspirasi sebagai bagian dari materi diskursif, pada tingkat analisis mesostruktural, wacana tentang kepustakawanan ideal dapat memotivasi pustakawan yang merasa pesimis dalam profesi mereka. Sudarsono mencerminkan pengalaman pribadinya untuk membantu pembaca, terutama generasi Z, yang disebutkan dalam bukunya. Secara makrostruktural, Sudarsono menggambarkan kepustakawanan sebagai pekerjaan pelayanan yang memerlukan upaya aktif dalam mengatasi hambatan birokrasi dan politik institusi. Kesimpulannya, kepustakawanan digambarkan sebagai metafora perjalanan hidup dengan menghadirkan pengalaman emosi negatif dan harapan penulis terhadap calon pustakawan muda termasuk pustakawan generasi Z yang dimaknai secara terbuka sebagai materi diskursif. Penelitian masa depan dapat menganalisis bagaimana pustakawan generasi Z merespons temuan dari penelitian ini dalam praktik sehari-hari mereka di dunia kepustakawanan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study evaluates the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competency frameworks for librarians in Indonesia, focusing on gender differences. Despite the critical role of these frameworks in addressing digital age challenges, their efficacy in capturing gender-specific nuances in competencies is underexplored. This research surveyed 208 librarians, employing a questionnaire derived from the 2019 Indonesian National Qualifications Framework for Libraries (SKKNI). The survey, distributed via Google Forms, targeted librarians in various library types across Indonesia. Employing accidental random sampling, this research revealed significant disparities in ICT-related competencies across genders. While gender did not majorly influence the demographic characteristics of librarians in the ICT division, notable differences emerged in ICT competency based on gender. These findings highlight the need for gender-sensitive approaches in developing ICT competencies and suggest revisions to current frameworks to address gender-specific needs better, contributing to a deeper understanding of digital literacy and equity in Indonesian librarianship. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kerangka kompetensi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) untuk pustakawan di Indonesia dengan fokus pada perbedaan gender. Meskipun kerangka ini penting dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital, efektivitasnya dalam menangkap nuansa spesifik gender dalam kompetensi belum banyak diteliti. Peneliti melakukan survei terhadap 208 pustakawan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang berasal dari Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI) 2019 untuk Perpustakaan. Survei ini, yang disebar melalui Google Forms, menargetkan pustakawan dari berbagai jenis perpustakaan di Indonesia. Menggunakan sampling acak, penelitian ini mengungkapkan perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kompetensi TIK berdasarkan gender. Meskipun gender tidak terlalu mempengaruhi karakteristik demografis pustakawan di divisi TIK, perbedaan yang mencolok muncul dalam kompetensi TIK berdasarkan gender. Temuan ini menyoroti perlunya pendekatan sensitif gender dalam mengembangkan kompetensi TIK dan menyarankan revisi pada kerangka kerja saat ini untuk lebih mengakomodasi kebutuhan spesifik gender, berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang literasi digital dan kesetaraan dalam kepustakawanan di Indonesia

Abstract

The information experience domain is a field of human information behavior research, concerned with one's engagement with sensory information using personal cognitive and affective experiences. The development of information technology and social media causes a flood of information which results in misinformation, disinformation, fake news, and hate speech in the public information space which increases personal distraction, this is also known as the phenomenon of information pathology. Another type of information pathology is the phenomenon of tensions in behavior and information practices presented as information experience dilemmas. This study aims to define, understand, and explain various forms of information experience dilemmas, there is a concept of tension that appears in various contexts. Case studies in the context of the global Covid-19 pandemic are presented to illustrate the operationalization of the definitions and variations of the information experience dilemma. The results of the research contribute to the field of information experience research that has been developed by taking the perspective of distraction in the public information space and helping to understand how to design library service systems and information systems that address affective and cognitive tensions in the disinformation era.

Abstract

Batik is a work of visual art in the form of traditional clothing, and intangible cultural heritage has become an inseparable part of the daily life of the Indonesian people. One of the motives is the famous Rifa'iyah batik with a pattern inspired by the teachings of Sheikh Ahmad Rifa'i which shows evidence of the beliefs, deeds, and identity of Sheikh Ahmad Rifa'i's followers. In this study, the author aims to discuss Batik Rifa'iyah as a document using conceptual analysis based on document theory such as the concept of meaningful, indexicality, and documents as a broader system to explore the meaning contained in Batik Rifa'iyah styles. This study provides an alternative understanding of batik cloth, especially batik rifa'iyah which is not limited to cloth and visual arts but also provides an in-depth analysis of how to treat colors, shapes, and patterns as documents that refer to the daily life of the Rifa'iyah people. This research also extends the use of document theory in analyzing various information objects in the neodocumentation movement tradition. The results show that batik rifa'iyah has enriched our view of documents, which are symbolic representations, not only expressed through words that have long been known, but lines, colors, and shapes are indeed essential things of a document.

Abstract

Literasi digital berkembang sejalan dengan perkembangan teknologi dan informasi. Dalam dunia pendidikan, literasi digital sangat diperlukan untuk membantu peserta didik mengikuti proses pembelajaran yang berkembang karena teknologi. Buku, media, hingga metode pembelajaran berubah dan beradaptasi, mengadopsi teknologi dalam praktiknya. Adanya keterbatasan waktu dan sarana prasarana di sekolah, menyebabkan tidak semua guru bisa mengajarkan dan melatih peserta didik untuk meningkatkan literasi digital mereka. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan peran pihak ketiga seperti Taman Baca Masyarakat (TBM) yang berkomitmen dalam meningkatkan literasi masyarakat. Kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (PPM) yang bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan pada anak-anak sekitar untuk mengakses buku digital ini dilaksanakan di TBM Saung Diajar 09 oleh Perpustakaan Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Bandung bertujuan. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah 34 anak usia 5 - 12 tahun. Alat pengabdian yang digunakan meliputi buku digital, laptop dan gawai, serta metode interaktif games dan simulasi langsung. Hasil evaluasi dan observasi menunjukan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman anak-anak tentang buku digital dan cara mengaksesnya serta meningkatnya keterampilan dasar literasi digital anak-anak, mengetahui konten digital yang dibutuhkan, mengetahui perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak yang diperlukan, dan mengetahui cara menggunakannya. Melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang berkelanjutan, TBM dapat berperan dan berkontribusi dalam peningkatan literasi digital masyarakat terutama anak-anak.
